Phoenix Wright: The Trilogy (Canceled Until Further Notice)

Phoenix Wright: The Trilogy (Canceled Until Further Notice)

Project Overview

This project has been canceled until I can get some practice in making fandubs.  In all honesty, I dove into this project unprepared and I will ruin everything without practice and learning first.

I'll be working on other, simpler fandubs to get some practice in making and putting together fandubs.  I will leave all roles closed to the actors who have been cast, however if you wish to leave the project altogether please let me know so I can re-open the role.

Since this site will not let me delete canceled and/or close projects the information will continue to stay up.  However, in the future I'd like to be able to cast case by case to make things easier...if I reopen this project.

Thank you for your understanding and to all who took the time to audition and all who were cast: Thank you for your time and interest and I'm sorry if this sudden cancelation has caused any inconvinence.

Latest Updates

  • Project Has Been Canceled

I have no idea how to delete something off of here.

  • Voice Clipping Time

Hello everyone.  I've been practicing lines and dealing with real life and such, but I finally got myself back over here for an update.  Originally I was flipping between live recording sessions, but after speaking to fandub veterans it's been decided that everyone will record their lines on their own and submit them either via CCC, email or Skype.

As previously stated, we will be going case by case, so I'll be scripting script as each case is ready to be tackled.  Anyone can record on their own time, if they don't wish to wait, however.  Additionally, take your time to take care of your recordings if you have school or work in your life.  I haven't set any deadlines for when recorded lines need to be turned in.

If you have any questions, wish to assist behind the scenes in anyway or just want to deliver some of the lines you've finished you can contact me here, or you can request to add me to Skype and talk to me there.  Whenever I'm around the laptop, I'll always respond as quickly as I can.

P.S. All recurring characters: If you wish to reserve your character for the entire trilogy, and haven't requested that already, please let me know ASAP.  As I said, while it IS appreciated, staying on for three whole games worth of fandubs is optional.

  • Info On Scripting

Hello everybody.  Later tonight, early tomorrow morning (in the wee hours of the midnight bit that is) the remaining roles should finally be cast.  As I may or may not have stated in a previous update, we will be handling the project one case at a time, so I'll updating everyone when the time for their role (or first role if they have multiple parts) comes up.

In the meantime, since scripting is being such a pain I'm going to go ahead and reccommend everyone study the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney game script on GameFAQs.  Since the owner has copyright, I don't think I can publically link to it, however I can privately provide the link.  It's a transcript of the ENTIRE game's script so you'd only focus on specific parts in the script as detailed in a walkthrough.

I'm still going to work on scripting, but user Robikku says he plans to use the GameFAQs transcript for doing his lines, which is why I bring it up.  If anyone thinks it's simpler feel free to take a read over on GameFAQs.  If I get some scripting done, however, I'll personally provide each of you with the script for the case (or cases) you'll be starring in.

Finally, and this is for anyone doing a recurring role such as Maya Fey or Lotta Hart or even Larry Butz: During the role finalization process, please let me know if you intend to continue throughout the entire trilogy or not.  If not, I'll need to know for recasting when the second game's voice casting rolls around.  If anyone needs to know the Skype I'll be using to collaborate off of CCC, please don't hesitate to message me.  Thank you all for your auditions and thank you for helping bring this project to life.  :)

  • Finalizing The First Turnabout

Hello everyone.  With the deadline for auditions fast approaching I'm hoping to get all the roles cast within the next three days.  I will be contacting the people who get cast as Larry Butz, Mia Fey and The Judge first to provide scripts and to see if they wish to continue through the franchise after we finish the first game.  I'm not sure when I'll throw up auditions for the second game, so please bear with me.

Remember, reprising a role for Justice For All and Trials And Tribulations IS optional, but if you had fun the first time around, we'd love it if you stuck around.  A note about scripts: I wasn't sure the best way to format the scripts so if you have a copy of the first game that would be a big help, especially for filming and line recording.  Either way, I look forward to working with all of you.

I'll be making a new, temporary Skype for the sake of this project (since I currently) don't have one, so I'll be providing it to each and every voice actor who gets cast so we can all collaborate together.  Congratulations to everyone who got cast and, once again, thank you to everyone who auditioned.  I'll see you all in the next update.

  • Information About The Project

Hello.  Thanks to everyone who's auditioned so far.  Me and my friend who started the project are going over the auditions together, so just check back regularly to see if you got a part.  Now, I'm not gonna lie, this is my first time doing a fandub so bear with me as I'm learning the ropes...any behind the scenes help, tips, etc would be welcomed.

What we'll be doing is filming the actual gameplay of each game and then adding voice acting.  After filming a playthrough of a case's chapter, my editor will be editing it to make it look like a fanmade anime episode, which will then be posted to the Youtube channel I own mentioned in the description of the project.  Not really sure the easiest way to do the filming and voice recording but for the people who get the roles, it helps if you own any incarnation of the trilogy or games in the original trilogy.

Finally, my friend hinted he wants to do the full series eventually by saying he would text me his Simon Blackquill audition, but before I decide on doing Apollo Justice and Dual Destinies I want to see how the trilogy project turns out first.  If you have any questions, comments or helpful advice, feel free to inbox me or post a comment and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.  Thanks again for your auditions and your interest in this project.  It's something me and my friend have been talking about since (I got the original year wrong) fall of 2009.

I have watched wayyyy too many Phoenix Wrong videos.  Can you impersonate Dr. Hubert Farnsworth from Futurama?  Because that's how this group envisions Yanni Yogi's voice.

Oldbag has a deep voice for an elderly woman.  She also has a tendency to speak very very fast when she's easily excited.  Please keep that in mind when a scene where she rants and raves appears as she tends to do that...quite a bit.

  • He's not a bad kid, but don't be fooled by his mask! You wouldn't want him on the silver screen without it, believe me. Little old ladies watching would lose their lunch!

Dee appears to be lost in thought at times and even when she's upset or under pressure she still sounds calm, cool and collected.  Her voice is both deep and smooth at the same time with a hint of an Italian accent.  But not a stereotypical "It's-a me, Mario" one.

  • And here I was worrying that today would be as boring as all the rest.... Very well

Cody is an elementary school kid and, in the tradition of an actual anime, he is envisioned as being voiced by a female, though a high pitched male in the style of voice actor Greg Ayres will work as well.

  • But that's my card! By offering me something I already own, you're in effect eschewing the very basis of our consumer society, namely the principle of fair trade! Man, for a grown-up, you sure are dumb!

The Bellboy, who is unnamed, has a prim and proper tone to his voice.  With a hint of a British accent.  He is easily excitable at the prospect of the hotel being across the way from a murder scene.  Too excited at points.
