PHANTOM REBELS: Pilot/Season 1

Project Overview

Phantom Rebels is an upcoming series that is inspired by 2000s shonen anime, Undertale/Deltarune, and Homestuck. It is about people who use a unique type of energy to develop magical powers. These people are known as phantom warriors. The pilot episode follows Pyro, a young boy who has the power of a phantom, but has been prevented from ever joining the special phantom defence force: The Emerald Phantom Force. Pyro's necklace gets stolen by a random boy, which spirals into a bigger conflict, which gets Pyro into a lot more trouble than you'd think. (Character designs and logo will be added soon.)

  • Update 2: More News and 100+ Submissions!

    Hello! Thanks again for all of the support. 100+ is a lot of submissions! I just wanted to announce that some of the roles have been cast!

    Another thing I wanted to mention is that the artwork will be revealed in the next month or so. Our animators have been a bit busy, so they've been on a hiatus that will end after the rest of the roles are cast.

  • Update 1: 50 Submissions!!!

    Hello, Aika here!

    I would like to thank everyone who's auditioned for this. I really appreciate all of the support and interest in my project. I have spent years trying to plan the story, characters, and worldbuilding.

    First of all, I want to share the progress on everything for the pilot so far.

    Scriptwork: 100%

    Concept Art: 20%

    Storyboarding: 25%

    Voicework: 0% (of course)

    Animation: 0%

    Soon, the logo and art of the characters will be revealed by the end of November or the start of December, so the page will look a bit more complete. Stay tuned for that.

Pyro Kosnik is the protagonist and the lead role of the story. He’s your typical shonen protagonist (like Naruto, Luffy, etc.) and is kindhearted, but has a prankster side to him. He’s around 15-16 years old in the pilot. He’s of average height, with sharp teeth and messy, fluffy brown hair.

Nix is a main character in Phantom Rebels. He is of an alien species called the Nexilian, who have grey skin and elf-like ears. He, like the rest of the species. Talks in a human voice. He's very calm and doesn't get angry much, unless he's reminded of a certain part of his past. He's 16 in the pilot.

8-Ball is more of a troublemaker than really any character in the pilot. He's smart, but doesn't like to show that side of himself. He's 15 in the pilot.

Geo is Pyro's legal guardian. He's a bit overprotective and strict, but has a fatherly love for his adopted son. Besides being a bit strict, he's courageous and brave, but not like his brother, whom he looked up to before his death. He's in his 30s in the pilot

  • Flame Ring, Ring of fire, Whatever. What you did is against the rules. Unless you’re a Phantom Warrior, you can’t just use your ability anywhere you want.

  • Pyro, you can't just use your ability every time you start some nonsense.

The mysterious antagonist of the pilot episode. His personality is quite eerie. He has a deep, mysterious voice and is said to look like a walking shadow with eyes. He is merely a puppet, being controlled by a greater evil. He is also important later in Season 1.

Silke is the most mysterious out of the main cast of what might become Season 1. She's an Anti-heroine who likes to work alone and takes a liking to Pyro. She might or might not like him. She dyes her hair way too much, but usually has it jet-black with a streak of another color. Not in the pilot.

The enthusiastic host of The "Gameshow" Show, which is just a cover-up for the Physical Phantom Exams. He is similar to Tenna and Spamton from Deltarune. He is actually one of the three assassins that is hired to kill Pyro, but this is set to be revealed towards the end of Season 1. Appears in episodes after the Pilot.
