She is a silent protagonist, as is the case with most Megami Tensei protagonists, although she does technically speak in battle (such as when she uses an item or summons a persona).
Unlike the male protagonist or Megami Tensei protagonists in general, she is very bubbly, funny, upbeat and cheerful. Her dialogue choices exhibit a broad spectrum of emotions, ranging from sarcasm, joking tones, utter seriousness and otherwise depending on the player's choice. She is outspoken, blunt and literal when responding and getting her points across.
Mhm, count on me! Getting to wear a disguise will really make me feel like a top notch thief! Imagine how much easier climbing Tartarus would be with this many people. Ooh I get to be part of the Phantom Thieves until we find everyone!

In Persona 3, he is a silent protagonist, aside from technically speaking in battle in certain instances. While being a silent protagonist, he is very stoic, reserved and calm, gathered by the fact that he's faced death and his own mortality: he remains unmoved even when guns are pointed at him (such as by Aigis herself,) as well as walking under a green sky and being surrounded by blood pools and coffins everywhere at the beginning of Persona 3.

Adachi seems to be a cheerful and jovial detective displaying textbook incompetence, such as threatening to throw up upon being asked to investigate a murder scene. He is outright treated as comic relief, due to his irresponsible and slacking nature. He also tends to make terrible unfunny jokes and puns that only he would enjoy.

Tch. Then you're even dumber than I thought. You probably should've asked for the arrest. Wow, you really smashed 'em to bits, huh?
That's all she wrote. Now, if you'll excuse me...
You call that justice? Well, you're clearly buying what you're selling, at least.
Sho is highly misanthropic and wishes for a world in which only he lives. Ever since Ikutsuki "threw" Sho away as a failed experiment, Sho developed a deep mistrust of others' intentions, eventually doubting the authenticity of any and all human bonds, viewing them as a crutch others cling to when they're too weak to stand alone.

Hahaha! The hell is "strength of bonds"? Sounds like an excuse for weaklings. No way I need anything like that! This red fog's the end of your everyday peace. I'd kill to murder you all... Just joking! C'mon, laugh! The hell...? You said you'd help, so I let you alone. But if you're gonna go against me, I guess you should die! So DIE!
You're powerless unless you act as a group, correct? How miserable, sad, and most of all irritating. Are you done with your "bonding" act already? Don't worry, I'll kill everyone at once. So, you promised not to lose anything anymore? Too bad. You'll never protect anything with such meager strength.
Maruki is a voluntary counselor who cares about the students in the school and sympathizes with Suguru Kamoshida's victims. As a counselor, he is quite friendly to those who reach out to him and is extremely patient, allowing them to control the flow of their conversation.

Everyone is capable of changing themselves - your imagination is the only limit.
Your existence in this world is an amazing miracle. You deserve to spend your days in happiness. I'll keep rooting for you long after I'm gone.
Basically, what I want to say to you all is to learn from me, and live your lives without regret.
When Marie is first met, she seems to be a very cold and antisocial individual. She is sullen, cranky, sarcastic, irritable, very foul-mouthed and often prone to mood swings. She will not hesitate to voice her opinion or express her thoughts, regardless of how it would make everyone feel. The team is also weirded out when she politely apologizes, commenting that she never seemed like the type who would say sorry. In contrast to other characters, Marie believes there is no such as thing as the truth, and hence there is no point in trying to find it.

Sae is intelligent, professional and serious, although her actual maturity is debatable. A workaholic, Sae is very strict in both her work as prosecutor and guardian for her younger sister, Makoto, constantly telling her to focus on her studies and such.

Nanako is a mature and kind person for a girl her age, though has moments of childish innocence, such as when she wonders if the weather reporter "decides" the weather. Her refreshingly honest way of thinking and speaking is noted by many characters in the series.

Living alone with his daughter, Dojima is shown to be a hard-working detective, although he often becomes a workaholic. Adachi notes that he is a particularly harsh supervisor to him, but Dojima is a seasoned detective and takes his job seriously and is merely training Adachi for their line of work.
