Hello, you who happened to click on this. I am LordKraken3, a YouTuber, and the creator of Panty and Stocking Plush, a plush series based on Studio Gainax's beloved anime, Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt. There are currently 2 episodes out, both of which are available to view on my YouTube channel, and the 4th episode's script is currently being written (the 3rd episode's script is complete). But, let's get right to the point. In October of last year, the previous voice actor for Stocking decided to retire due to losing interest in acting, among other things. I've been searching for a replacement VA for Stocking for a few months now, but I haven't had any luck. I hope to change that by bringing my search here.
My criteria:
1. You should know what Stocking actually sounds like before auditioning so you can be sure whether you can do her voice or not. I've linked voice references below that I recommend you listen to so you can hear her voice before auditioning. Also, please make sure that you can actually act before auditioning. Be able to imitate Stocking, capture her personality, and yell lines that require yelling (The third line that's part of your audition tests your yelling ability), or you'll never get the part.
2. If you get the part, once you've recorded your lines, please send each of them to me in separate .MP3 files (This makes them easier to edit in post-production, since having too big of an audio file causes my editing software to stretch it out and make the timing incorrect). You can send them to me either on here or on Skype.
3. Be prepared for a long-term job if you get the part. You'll be playing Stocking for a long time if you get accepted since this is a character in a long-term series and not a one-off project we're talking about, so if you audition and get accepted, be ready to voice Stocking for a long time.
4. Have crystal-clear audio. No background noise, no echo, and a clear speaking voice are exactly what I want here.
5. I'm looking for committed voice actors who will be able to send me lines within about... say... a week of being sent the script. Whenever I manage to finish a script is when I'll send it to you so you can do your lines, so be on the lookout for it at all times. Also, you'd better have a good reason as to why you haven't sent me your lines if a week passes and you haven't sent me your lines yet.
Here are two voice references for Stocking from the original P&S anime so you can listen to Stocking's voice and determine whether you can do her voice or not. If you get the part, I promise that you'll be given credit in the end credits and description of every episode. I wish you all the best of luck with your auditions!
Try to sound level-headed, with a hint of snideness while talking to Panty. Also, like I said above, be able to get angry and yell for lines when needed. And I can't stress this enough; make sure to listen to the voice references I provided above before you audition!
