Hello! This is James member of the The 104th Voice Squad, and after much thought, I have decided to open up auditions for our upcoming new mini series "Mimiru!" With a fun and colorful cast of characters ready to go, this promises to be a visual production that I believe many people will enjoy.
But first, What is Mimiru about? Here's the rundown:
“In the relaxing town of Suntail, three middle school students are stuck with an assignment over the summer to write their own work of fiction. However, while visiting the town’s old library for inspiration, they stumble upon and open what seems to be an old dusty novel by an unknown author; suddenly, they are magically transported into the world of the story! Where did this book come from? Why was it hidden in a boring town like Suntail? And more importantly, how on earth how do these guys find a way back home? Well, at least the question of inspiration for their story is no longer an issue…”
Similar to our first production, Attack on Space, and our second project, Airheart, Mimiru will essentially be presented with sprites, music and colorful backgrounds to help carry the audioplay and its lovable characters. I am looking for creative people who are not only talented, but will be comfortable with improvisation when needed. Show me what your interpretations of the characters are based on their characterizations, and don't be afraid to take a risk or two to stand out in this comedy.

All auditions [B]must be received by 11:59pm on June 17th, 2015[/B], unless you have been told otherwise by myself via email (this will be very rare)
Please refer to the Google doc link below for all instructions on all audition specifications, characters, and their lines. Auditions that do not follow those instructions will be disregarded, no exceptions.

Send [redacted] with the subject: Mimiru Character Audition.
Your audition must be clear, no noise and with no pops or clicks. You can send extra takes/ interpretations but no more than 3 per line. Certain characters have special instructions that will allow you use more of your creativity to bring that character to life. Even if you do not get a part your auditions will be kept in case another role becomes available.

1: Jay Bluebyrd - A timid worrywort, Jay moved to Suntail with his parents prior to the events of this story and works at the Blubyrd’s family bakery, where they became very popular around town. There the Blubyrds befriended Kentaro’s family, becoming close with his first true friend, Kentaro. Shy, easy to startle, and lacking in self-confidence, he is considered a the “scaredy cat” of the the trio when he’s with Mimiru and Kentaro. He’s just overly cautious is all! However, he seems to have found in Mimiru and Kentaro (Kentaro especially) friends he can relax and be himself with. Though normally he speaks with a quiet and polite tone around most people, his reactions when startled, scared or surprised often become hilariously over the top, and when he gets like that, it can be very hard to get him to calm down.
1: (walks in) Hey guys I found a spot where we can-- HOLY PISTACHIOS WHAT HAPPENED TO THE KITCHEN!? There’s cake everywhere! Cake on the walls! (looks up) T-the ceiling?! Really? How? OOOH we are so SCREWED!
2: (optimistic) W-well, I guess that’s not what I expected to start summer vacation either Ken, but who knows? I think It’ll be kinda fun!
3: (shaking) Um, yeah, you go on ahead. I’ll stay over here where it’s safe and-- (gets dragged away by mimiru; Jay kicking and screaming along the way) HEY! NO NO NO, LEGGO OF ME, I DON’T WANNA GOOOO! Kentaro, Save me i’m gonna diiiie! Waaaaah! (you can also make up what he would say as he is being dragged away if you’d like)
