One World, Our Story
Project Overview
One World, Our Story is a large short film project that I am working. My goal is to the film in the same way one would see before movies or from big art schools (aka Gobelins).
The story springs from an experience through Dungeon & Dragons (D&D) games combining with experiences of life. This combo is matched with the use of both traditional 2D animation and shooting footage that will be stylized to have a cell shaded look. I have the footage covered, but need help with the other parts.
The story told is one of how many stories are all happening in the same world. Three D&D games were played throughout a few years with the same world/setting, yet with each different group there were three distinct stories and moments that occurred. I hosted a campaign with three different groups through the same homebrew module and such vast unique experiences, each with their own special and impactful moments. This same place, different events reflect real life as well. Living in the same one world, people all have their own stories and events that happen that are unique to them.
I thought to expand and have that be the focus of this project while using the common questions that people are asked through many stages of life (Who are you? What is your Story?) as the catalyst to help tell this story. The goal of this story is to show the stories that are happening around the world and help show people that there are others around them and that they are not alone in this world. There is one world and many stories and it is our story that we get to tell.
Animatics, Character Designs, Storyboards, & a lot of the ground work has already gotten underway. This project builds on other stories and Our story that we all tell together, so I would love to not only represent the stories I've heard but collaborate.
