Omsha Chronicle Animatic Voice Test: Rime Kae

This casting call is for an animatic to test voices for a character from an early-production game project.

Several sets of audition lines will be applied to an animatic in a single video to be posted on youtube. When the game project has reached the point where it can start hiring voiceactors, each of the auditions will receive a callback for paid work. (Mind, this will not be for several years)

Without going into explicit detail, Omsha Chronicle is a high-fantasy story that takes place in a world of magic, beasts, empires, and adventures.

Rime Kae

(pronounced like "rhyme kay")

Rime is an adventurer of great stature and little acclaim. Standing at an amazonian 7'2", she travels with her adventuring group(henceforth "the party") as they solve local problems and international disputes alike. She is something of noble upbringing, well studied and spoken enough to serve her secondary role as a diplomat in the party's missions. Rime was originally a failure as a mage of the arcane arts, later discovering her talents lay elsewhere. Rime is compassionate, loyal, witty, and has difficulty resisting an invitation to preform shenanigans. Her travels with the party have softened her composure; she only presents posh if a situation calls for it.

• She is youthful, a relative age of late-teens or early-twenties.

• As she is of large stature, Rime needs to have some depth to her voice; however, without being of masculine, gruff, or butch tone.
  • These two points combined have served as a more difficult factor of putting a voice to the face, given now niche it is. The closest we've found to a similar basis would be Scorpia from "She-Ra and the Princesses of Power" as preformed by Lauren Ash.
• She has some degree of French accent.

Audition Lines:

1. Context: In a tavern sitting down for dinner.

(calm) "May I see the local special, please?"

(timidly) "Aged ornyina eggs that have stewed in troog fat, with choice of grog?"

(concerned, becoming eager) "And if I finish it without retching, the evening meal is free? Bring me a tankard of mellowed citron; you're on!"

2. Context: Greeting a local figure of power to discuss protecting trade routes.

(formal with grace) "I greet you ser, Magistrate Duncan. I am Rime Kae of Meirros, acting-emissary for Archduke Devlan."

(hiding annoyance, urgency) "You'll find our papers in proper order, so, shall we skip to the pressing matter?"

3. Context: Pre-boss-battle dialogue against a cult leader.

(baffled and shocked) "This is what you were after? Senseless deaths to fuel a relic that you didn't realize was broken?"

(smouldering anger) "We... We will put a stop to you, fiend."

(growing more intense) "Even if I have to beat you into a bloody pulp!"
