Omori The Series (CANCLED!!)
Project Overview
INTRODUCTION
Hello, everyone! This casting call is for the pilot of "Omori"! This is based on the video game Omori, so essentially it would be what I think of Omori would be like if it was voice acted. PLOT: In the story, the player controls a hikikomori boy named Sunny and his dream world alter-ego Omori. They explore both the real world and the surreal dream world to overcome their fears and secrets. How they interact depends on choices made by the player, resulting in one of several endings. The game's turn-based battle system includes unconventional status effects based on the characters' emotions.
IF YOU CHOSE TO AUDITION PLEASE NOTE: “This game contains depictions of depression, anxiety, and suicide, and may not be suitable for all audiences. It also contains bright flashing imagery that may cause discomfort and/or seizures for those with photosensitive epilepsy. Viewer discretion is advised.”
We're casting for voices to be used throughout the game however we are going to start with the pilot. Folks cast for main roles will be asked to provide lines for the role. If you're not cast for the main role, and your voice matches the tone of the show or a character in a later episode, we may ask you to provide lines for supporting roles or possibly other main roles in the production. If you are cast I will request for your discord username to invite you!
All roles are in the English language. Voice actors must be comfortable using English
DEADLINES AND AUDITIONS
The deadline for auditions is October 16th, 2021. There are currently no plans to extend this deadline, as the full Pilot script is ready to release to voice actors. We'll notify voice actors who have been cast in roles by October 17th and 18th and send the link to the discord server by June 19th.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Expect to be warmly greeted by myself, Opal. At this point, you'll be part of our "Omori The Series" family, where you'll get to interact with other voice actors from around the globe, all of whom offer a wealth of experience and knowledge.
We communicate primarily through Discord. If you are unfamiliar with either of these applications, you will need it to audition.
WHAT WE ASK OF YOU
First and foremost, have fun -- we take pride in bringing together talents in different mediums to create something truly phenomenal, but none of it means anything if the people involved aren't passionate about their craft.
Please submit clean recordings on prosumer mics (no air conditioners in the background, no fans -- we don't mind performing noise reduction on your files, however too much clean-up reduces the quality of your voice). And speaking of clean-up -- please let us handle the post-production. Don't add effects to your lines -- leave that to our audio geniuses :)
Feel free to cut your lines to your best/favorite takes. Three is the gold standard. We have a few voice actors that would rather give us more takes, and that's okay, too. However please at least remove the takes you don't want to be featured on the audition.
Please submit your recordings as one .MP3 file to We do occasionally ask for line re-dos, but we do this sparingly and only after great consideration - we realize your time is valuable, and we won't ask for anything we can't work around in edits.
Lastly, since We are planning on making this into a series that will most likely last till the end of the game. We'd like to cast people who will be able to stick with us for a while.

Tristan Jimenez
Not much can be said about OMORI's personality, as he is a silent protagonist. However, it is implied that he is quite melancholic, as his narration sometimes has gloomy inputs and his final battle dialogue is directly talking down to SUNNY. His abilities are also reflective of this gloominess, being either violent in nature or simply gaining SAD, or having an advantage while SAD. However, it can be speculated that this is more so reflective of SUNNY's emotional state, as OMORI is a character built from SUNNY'S conscience in WHITE SPACE and HEADSPACE.
(coldly) "You've caused so much suffering yet you do nothing. And so you earn nothing in return."
(coldly) "Your friends will never forgive you. They'll abandon you like you did them.. and that's what you deserve."
(attacking) "Hero loved her and you killed her!"

She's often spoken of as being kind and gentle and plays a sisterly role in the friend group with SUNNY, HERO, KEL, AUBREY, and BASIL. Her first appearance shows she has a mischievous side, poking fun at KEL and AUBREY's mannerisms and afterward teasing HERO. These traits are shared with her HEADSPACE counterpart.
(Happy, Giggling) "Run along and have fun now! You know where to find me!"
(Calm, Supportive) Steady your heartbeat.... Don't be afraid. It's not as scary as you think.
(Voice breaking, Whisper) Goodbye... Little Brother.

AlienFruit
During his youth, KEL is a bit bratty, impulsive, and rude, always getting into little tiffs with his friends. He is very competitive by nature, always wanting to win games or races, and is indeed very energetic and fast. He also thinks romance is gross and that girls have cooties. However, even though he is loud and likes to annoy his friends, he genuinely cares about and protects them. KEL appears to share a strong bond with his brother HERO and occasionally bickers with AUBREY over petty disagreements over minor topics. He even sees the quiet SUNNY as someone who is a great person and believes the best in him. These traits are shared with his HEADSPACE counterpart.
(teasing) Only if you say please!
(sarcastic) Well sorry, princess...

LarsVoices
During his youth, HERO is the peacemaker of the group, who tries to restrain his friends whenever they get too worked up. He is described as having a mild personality and passionate about domestic work like baking, cooking, and cleaning, making him an ideal employee.[3][4] HERO also has a charismatic side that he uses to charm others. His charisma allows him to convince others to go along with his requests, get discounts from MAILBOX and befriend animals like EMS. However, he can sometimes be a pushover when confronted and has difficulty refusing others. He also appears to have arachnophobia (an irrational fear of spiders) to the point of freezing up completely. These traits are shared with his HEADSPACE counterpart.
*sighs* Settle down, you two... Why does it always have to be like this?

BASIL is depicted as a relatively shy and socially anxious boy, well seen right after being introduced to the friend group, being very insecure and fearing of being perceived as a burden. He enjoys taking pictures, as his memories with his friends are his most treasured belonging, perceiving them as a way to permanently capture the moment. He also enjoys taking care of flowers, art, and reading. Basil seems to develop strong emotional attachments to many of his possessions, mentioning "He will never throw away anything, no matter how worthless it is."
(Breath shaking as if he is having a panic attack, talking to himself) Everything is going to be okay...Everything is going to be okay...Everything is going to be okay...Everything is going to be okay...
(Nervous) H-Hey, Omori... actually... Sorry... Before we go there's... um...
(Calming) Sunny.. Don't worry.. Everything will be okay.

During her youth, AUBREY is very cheerful and is always happy to play with her friends. Despite this, she becomes sad and worried quite easily, such as being the most anxious when BASIL goes missing. Often she is clumsy, resulting in yelling from KEL, with who she always fights. She is also shown to be very emotional at times when something bad happens but still retains her happy lucky-go attitude. These traits are shared with her HEADSPACE counterpart, albeit slightly different from her puppy love persona towards OMORI.
(Sassy, sarcastic, and rude) How long has it been since you left your house? Three years...? Maybe four? Must have been nice to live in your own little bubble.
(embarrassed, yelling) What the-? W-What the heck are you guys doing here!?
(sweetly) You'll protect me, won't you, Omori?
