OMORI Fandub - Episode 1
Project Overview
Welcome! This will be a project by the dub group AltDubs, led by AisuVA with StevieDubs!
**Disclaimer: The game OMORI by Omocat deals with topics of depression and su1cide. If you are not in a mentally well headspace, we recommend that you skip over this project as topics can be triggering.
WARNING: Even for the casting call, there will already be major spoilers ahead, so audition at your own risk!**
The Omori Fandub Project will be our very first project, but we aim to complete the fandub for the game in its entirety. This casting call is for the first of roughly 15 episodes in a long term YouTube series, with each episode being around an hour long.
This means we'll be holding multiple casting calls for characters that show up in future episodes, so stay tuned! Though our team is just starting out, we aim to work in a serious and professional manner with our voice actors and staff. We also plan on doing more fandub projects in the future.
Our current timeline is 1-2 months per episode. We may ramp production up or down depending on how efficiently everyone can work.
What does this mean for you?
You can expect us to have a consistent workflow. Even though there's no monetary benefit for us, we will treat this the same as a fully fledged production.
We will try our best to communicate with everyone and assist them. We also have an audio tech who will polish lines to produce high quality dubs; that said, we have a few requirements before you submit your audition.
Requirements:
- Applicants must be at least 16 years or older due to the sensitive nature of the game. You must include your age and Discord tag.
- A good quality microphone that doesn't excessively peak/clip (plosives can't be edited out). Do not have excessive background noise (e.g. people talking, white noise, etc). Many of these roles require exaggerated acting such as shouting, so as such, it is important that the base requirements for a decent microphone and recording environment are met. Again, we have a good audio tech, so some noises can be edited out but clean audio is a priority.
- Long term commitment and dedication to the project. As stated before, we will be working professionally with actors and staff, and so that means we are fully committed to finishing this project. We may need some roles for upwards of a year, though we understand that some people cannot commit that much time or may drop out at random. If you are unable to continue, we will cast the second runner-up for your role, though we are understanding and will communicate with you first to work things out. We won't bite!
- Discord and email for communication and files. Discord will be required and necessary! As such, participants are required to be 13+ in accordance with Discord's ToS. This will be our main method of communication and updates/announcements will be posted to the Discord server. An email and Google Docs / similar platform is needed for sending lines.
- Submit two to three takes per line in AA/BB/CC or AAA/BBB/CCC format. The more takes, the better- it helps us better assess how differently you can deliver lines! Also, feel free to audition for multiple roles!
- Knowledge of the game is preferred, but not required. It would be helpful if you already understand how the characters act in the game. As a warning, there will be spoilers for the game if you have not played it.

Do you want to work closely with us and be more involved in the group?
We are currently looking for people to be involved with us as a close group. This means you will be working personally with Stevie and Aisu in planning and producing content. We will let you in on plans for the current and/or future projects. You will also be able to act as a moderator for the server.
Mods will be responsible for referring people to the rules and faq section of the server, answering simple questions about the project if needed, etc.

Aubrey is one of the main characters in Omori. She is playful and friendly to Omori and Hero, but acts more annoyed towards Kel.

Kel is a main character in Omori. He is Omori's friend and Hero's younger brother and is rowdy and energetic. He is often brash and loud, but still nice to his friends. He gets annoyed with Aubrey.

Hero is a main character in the game. He is Omori's friend and Kel's older brother. He has a charming personality and is the patient, cool-headed one when the others are getting worked up. He should sound like an older teen boy.

Basil is a friend of Omori, Aubrey, Kel, and Hero. He is a shy and reserved character and often gets anxious around his friends, but he is still friendly towards them. He is heavily affected by the trauma of the past.

Age: 15
Mari is the older sister of Omori. She has a bright, cheerful personality, and is basically a role model for Omori. SPOILER: Mari is also Something, so if you will be voicing Mari, you'll also be cast as Something. Something is akin to the apparition of Mari, and haunts Omori throughout the game. One thing we require if you audition for this role is that you can do a raspier version of Mari's voice for Something's voice.
