Casting!
Hello everyone! Sorry for the late delay!! But casting decisions are being made today!
Hello! Welcome to Unfortunate Roommates! Unfortunate Roommates is an animation that will be voiced-over and put onto YouTube. It’s a passion project of mine I’m so happy to bring to you!
Information about the Project:
I am very flexible with schedules, but please let me know in advance about issues with script deadlines.
Also, this is a long-term project with daily check-ins at the most, or weekly check-ins at the least. So please don't audition if you can't handle being in the project.
Please don’t share the script online or post it! I work really hard and would prefer that not to happen, if it does you will immediately be kicked out and your role recasted, I don’t care what role you had.
You don’t need discord for this! I prefer to use email or casting call club messages. When auditioning if you could put your email in there too that would be great! It’s not required, but it is preferred.
13+ please! There may be some roles that deal with harsh language.
Please have your lines when you audition in AABBCC format! I’d like to hear you try different takes!
Enjoy and have fun!! :)
(Look in my Bio/Profile for a Demo on how to say each character's name)

Hello everyone! Sorry for the late delay!! But casting decisions are being made today!
Hello! Two updates in one day!! If you all are wondering on how to pronounce the character's names, I have added a Demo to my Profile/Bio of how their names are pronounced. Please let me know if the Demo is not working.
Hello! All pictures/drawings of the leads are finished, and a few extra roles of extras and supporting have been added, seen as how with my last project, I had the issue of having too may good people that I needed to have more roles, so now I'm adding more! :)
I apologize!!! I just realized there aren’t any audition lines!! I’ll be putting those in today. Once again, I apologize.
LEAD
As the main protagonist, he embodies a mix of both charm and awkwardness, often finding himself in absurd situations and challenges it brings in his day-to-day life. His TV head is more than just a physical trait—it flickers and displays static or distorted images that reflect his emotions, acting almost like a window into his thoughts.
Personality-wise, Anatolios is resourceful, witty, and sometimes a little naive. Despite his oddity, he tries to live a relatively normal life and maintains an optimistic attitude, even when things get tough. His sense of humor often leans towards the dry and sarcastic, though he deeply cares for his friends and roommates, despite their frequent disagreements. Anatolios is also a bit of a tech whiz, using his unusual anatomy to his advantage, although he’s frequently frustrated by the disconnect between his human desires and his mechanical head.
(Soft spoken and easy) “C’mon Lucy, it’s not that bad. See? You CAN do it!”
(Firm) “Get the hell away from my friends. Right now.”
(Sounding like TV Static) “I-I can’t. None of them know it’s me. They all think I’m some sort of… monster.”
LEAD
Einar is a shy, endearing character and the best friend of Anatolios. His most distinctive feature is his object head—a large, well-worn notebook that displays his emotions through sketches and doodles. When excited, vibrant swirls fill the pages, while anxious moments are captured with dark, scribbled lines.
Awkward in social situations, Einar prefers to express himself through art, often observing the world around him. He provides a thoughtful, introspective balance to Anatolios’s adventurous spirit. Loyal and insightful, Einar’s journey is about finding his voice and growing more confident in expressing his thoughts and feelings.
(stutter) "Um.. g-guys. He's not backing away. I think he's getting closer!!"
(struggling) "Who even are you?? I have drawn everyone I've ever met and you're not one of them!"
(dissatisfied) "That's not a plan, Toilo. That's a last resort."
LEAD
Lucy is a vibrant and dynamic character, best friends with Anatolios and Einar. With her head shaped like a whimsical lamp, she lights up with joy, casting a warm glow when she’s happy. In contrast, when she feels sad or uncertain, her light dims, creating a subtle yet poignant reflection of her emotions.
Shy around unfamiliar faces, Lucy transforms into a confident, lively presence in the company of friends. Her playful nature and infectious laughter draw people in, making her a beloved companion. Despite her initial shyness, she has a knack for making others feel comfortable, often encouraging those around her to express themselves.
Lucy's journey revolves around navigating her dual nature—embracing her vibrant side while overcoming her shyness with new people. Her friendship with Anatolios adds depth to her character, as they support each other through challenges and celebrate their triumphs together.
(Trying to be strong, but fumbling over herself) "G-Get away from my friends. Right now."
(her lampshade falls off, she covers her face & head) "No. No no no no no no! Lucian! That's not funny! Where is my shade?? I need it now!"
(her light dims) "Toli... you're scaring me."
LEAD
Calian is an energetic and rambunctious character who lives next door to Anatolios and his roommates. With a head shaped like a colorful sock, he embodies a playful yet mischievous spirit. As the more immature twin compared to his brother Draven, Calian thrives on excitement and has a penchant for fighting, often seeking out challenges just for the thrill of it. His little sister Reyne, her head being a compass, also lives in the neighborhood next to the Dark Forest, having the same ambition as him.
His morals tend to be skewed, leaning towards selfishness, which often puts him at odds with those around him. Despite his impulsive nature, Calian has a magnetic charm that draws people in, making him a fun yet unpredictable presence. His dynamic with Draven, the more responsible twin, adds depth to his character, highlighting the contrasts between their personalities and values. Calian's adventures often lead him into trouble, showcasing his struggle between the desire for excitement and the need for growth.
(flirting) "Well hello there 'Ella'. I'm Cal, the hotter and better twin."
(frightened, panting, lost with all of the rubble arounf him) "Dray?? Draven?? Fuck. Draven?? Where are you??"
(shocked) "Oh that's not good." (dodges soemthing) Woah! Hey! What did-.... Did you just throw a tide pod at me? I DON'T SMELL THAT BAD!!"
LEAD
Draven is the more mature twin of the duo living next door to Anatolios and his roommates. With his head shaped like a classic sock, he embodies a steady presence, often serving as the voice of reason in his chaotic household. While Calian revels in excitement and fighting, Draven prioritizes keeping his brother safe, constantly keeping a watchful eye on him, even as Calian seeks out mischief. His little sister Reyne, her head being a compass, also lives in the neighborhood next to the Dark Forest, having the same brains as him.
Draven's protective nature stems from a deep bond with Calian, and he often finds himself in a balancing act between his brother's adventurous spirit and his own sense of responsibility. Despite his serious demeanor, Draven has a playful side that emerges when he's with friends, showcasing his loyalty and love for those he cares about. His struggle to keep Calian in check while navigating their dynamic creates an engaging tension, making him a relatable and grounded character amidst the chaos.
(questioning) "I'm curious. Is that Tide or Gain? Because Cal is allergic to Tide."
(coughing, panting) "Just.. leave without me. I'll be fine Cal, I promise. Just.. go."
(cheerful) "Welcome to the neighborhood Aella."
LEAD
Aella is the enigmatic outcast of the protagonist group, a character defined by her emotional distance and quiet presence. She isn't one to initiate conversation, always waiting for others to approach her first. This hesitation stems from her feeling like an outsider, as she only enters the series in the third episode, long after the rest of the cast has already bonded.
Her most striking feature, other than her creative style of clothes she makes herself, is her object head—a weather system that reflects her emotional state. When she's happy or content, her head becomes a glowing, radiant sun, casting warm light around her. When she's upset or troubled, her head transforms into a swirling cloud, darkening her surroundings and mirroring her internal storm.
The rest of the group doesn't know much about her, given her late introduction and reserved nature, but her mystery adds an alluring depth to her character. Despite her quiet demeanor, she has a lot of untapped potential and could be key to understanding the larger narrative—if only someone would take the time to truly connect with her.
(almost silent, curious) "What are you guys doing?" (louder, so they can hear her) "What are you guys doing??"
(scared) "That road literally looks like a dead end. You're not seriously going to go down there are you? Where it's dark... and... spooky."
(cheerful) "Hello! I'm Aella! I'm new to the neighborhood."
LEAD
Hannelore is the envious leader of a group of misfits who despise Anatolios, the seemingly flawless and beloved protagonist. He resents Anatolios for his perfection and the admiration he receives, feeling overshadowed and yearning to be in the spotlight himself. This jealousy drives Hannelore to lead his group in plotting against Anatolios, seeking to tear him down and take his place as the center of attention.
Hannelore's object head is a key, symbolizing his ambition to unlock his own path to greatness and expose Anatolios’ weaknesses. The key shines when Hannelore is in control, but tarnishes when his frustrations surface, reflecting his inner turmoil and insecurities. He is a sharp strategist but deeply flawed, his obsession with surpassing Anatolios pushing him toward increasingly desperate actions.
(evil) "They will pay. They all will." (evil laughs into a cough) "Giti!! Giti get me my cough drops!! Giti!!"
(tired) "Anatolios will...pay... Right after I have a nap."
(Lovestruck) "Giti. I must have her. Find out who she is at once. She will be mine."
LEAD
Giti is the often overlooked and underappreciated "second-in-command" of the misfit group that despises Anatolios. Unannounced and unnoticed by most, Giti quietly carries out her duties, though what she truly longs for is the affection and attention of Hannelore. She constantly tries to get closer to him, flirting subtly and offering her loyalty, but her efforts go unseen. Hannelore is too obsessed with
Her object head is a phone, symbolizing her constant yearning for connection. The screen lights up whenever she’s trying to communicate or get Hannelore's attention, but like missed calls or unread messages, her attempts go unanswered. Giti's quiet desperation for recognition and love makes her a tragic figure within the antagonist group, struggling to be seen in a world that always overlooks her.
(Cheerful) "Sir! I finished all of the requests you asked for!"
(chews gum, annoyed) "Do it yourself Han." (flustered and nervous) "I-I said HAN!! Not HON!! Han! Hannelore! That's what I meant!!"
(sighs, sad) "Always overlooked. Wonderful. He doesn't see my efforts at all. Not even when I ruined my social reputation for him!"
LEAD
Lazuli, known as Laz, is the unpredictable wild card of the antagonist group that despises Anatolios. Driven purely by a desire to sow chaos, Laz delights in causing rifts and tearing apart the bonds within the protagonist group. He often vanishes for long periods, only to return and find his handiwork has ruined friendships or alliances—exactly as he intended. While his chaotic nature is evident, Laz possesses far more power and influence than he reveals, hiding his true potential behind a carefree, almost reckless persona.
His object head is a striking blue eye, symbolizing both his name and his keen ability to observe and manipulate from the shadows. The group underestimates him, unaware that while he's busy unraveling their enemies, Laz is also subtly dismantling the misfit group from within. His power is silent but insidious, making him a dangerous force in the background, constantly pushing things toward disarray.
(erratic) "Helloooooo villains!! Who's gonna kill a TV man today?? We are!! Yes we are!!"
(spits out blood, panting) "Fuck you, Static."
(hiding something behind him) "Whaaaaaaaaat?" (nervously laughs) "No- No I- pssh. I wouldn't do anything. Hahaha. Ha. Heh..."
LEAD
Uraomote is the laid-back owner of the establishment where the antagonist group of misfits, who despise Anatolios, frequently gather. While he doesn’t involve himself in their schemes or personal drama, he finds amusement in hearing about the chaos Laz creates. Uraomote stays on the sidelines, enjoying the stories of conflict without actively taking sides, embodying a sense of neutrality in the midst of the group's turmoil.
His object head is a pair of dice, representing the duality of his nature and his ability to navigate between the protagonist and antagonist worlds without fully committing to either. He’s indifferent to most events unless they start to affect him directly, at which point he steps in to ensure his own interests remain protected. Uraomote thrives in unpredictability, but his own stakes only rise when his establishment or personal peace is threatened.
(Stern) "Ey. Hannelore. You're months behind on rent. Keep that up and I'll have your kiester out the door before you can say 'How much?'"
(Delighted) "Oh my gosh! You're like my idol!!" (switches immediately to resentful) "Yeah, being famous for not shutting your damn mouth."
(Stunned) "Wow. You're actually that stupid."
LEAD
Button is the silent, mysterious member of the antagonist group of misfits who despise Anatolios. She lingers in the background, rarely speaking or drawing attention to herself, making her presence easy to overlook. Throughout the series, both her face and personality remain concealed, adding an air of intrigue to her character. No one really knows what her motives or thoughts are, as she quietly observes the chaos and conflict around her.
Her object head is a simple button, reflecting both her name and her unassuming nature. Like a button that holds things together without being noticed, Button subtly binds the group in ways they may not fully realize. It's not until the end of the series that her true identity and intentions are revealed, making her a key figure in the story's resolution despite her low-profile presence.
(small, shy) "Hello. Did I disturb you?"
"People often say 'if walls could talk'. But they do talk. Some people just don't have the patience to listen."
"Fighting is unnecessary but if arson is involved then I'm all for it."
SUPPORTING
Lucian is Lucy's older, overprotective brother, characterized by his head shaped like a light bulb. He radiates a serious, no-nonsense demeanor, always shining with an intensity that reflects his strong feelings for his sister. Lucian is skeptical of Anatolios, viewing him as "bad news" and often expressing concern about his sister’s safety.
Though his protective instincts can come off as stern, there's a deep-seated familial love for Lucy that drives his actions. Lucian’s cautious nature sometimes clashes with Lucy’s more adventurous spirit, creating a dynamic tension in their relationship. His watchful eye and strong presence add a layer of complexity to the group's interactions, highlighting the balance between care and independence
