PLOT
The year is 1994. 15-year-old Ashley Parker just recently moved to Springdale Utah and she's still not used to it. She was so used to her life back in Nevada that being here just feels weird. She thinks her life is gonna be hell when she starts getting picked on by the bully of Springdale High, Megan Riley. However, her luck changes when 3 girls come to her rescue, Nicki, Stephanie, and Kimberly. Funnily enough, the three weren't even friends before that, they just saw what was happening and knew what needed to be done. Through that, these four girls end up becoming the best of friends, to the point where they make a promise to always be friends, even after they graduate. A promise that they have no plans on breaking any time soon. They don’t know what the future holds, they just know they’ll be best friends forever…no matter what.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for fun, kind, and easy-to-work-with voice actors who have clear-sounding mics that capture their voice with minimal background noise. We're also looking for people who love the 90s! Maximum of 3 takes per line. Improv is encouraged so don't be afraid to go off-script and have fun with it. Open ethnicity, POC actors highly encouraged to audition. Also rates are negotiable, 50$ just felt like the perfect base rate.

Ashley's the new girl in town, as you might imagine, she's having a hard time adapting after moving from Nevada. She’s kind, caring, has an eye for detail, and while admittedly she can be a little standoffish with strangers, if you get to know her better, you'll find that underneath all that is one hell of a sharp tongue and an insanely big heart. She often feels like an outsider, but she's got this quiet strength that comes through once she's around people she trusts.

[Annoyed] (Sighs) Thanks, Springdale. Nothing screams ‘warm welcome’ like a fricking MUD PUDDLE! (Groans) And this was my favorite shirt too.
[Talking with Friends, Comfortable] You know, back home, I-I always felt like I knew where I belonged. Like, the universe said (Deep Voice) "You are where you should be, Ashley." (Coughs) blegh, never doing that again. But yeah it felt like I found my place. Here though? I don't know, it’s like I’m watching everyone else’s lives through a window I can’t open so all I can do is wave.
[Stern, yet Warm] You don’t scare me, Megan. Not anymore. Because for the first time since I moved here, I actually feel happy, I have friends who care about me and accept me and make me feel...well, at home. They build me up, while you, Megan, only tear people down. That's not something to fear or be proud of, that's something to pity. And I do, I really do.
Nicki is one headstrong, aggressive, CRAZY pistol of a woman. She ain't afraid to speak her mind or throw a punch, but she's also loyal as fuck and if someone were to mess with her friends, you know their ass is grass. Underneath that fiery attitude is someone who cares fiercely, even if she doesn’t always show it.

[Mocking] (Snickers) 'Oh, I'm Megan, I'm the queen of Springdale High. Bow before me peasants or it's OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!' (Laughs) Tell me she wouldn't say that though. Bitch is so far up her own ass, it's hard to tell where she begins and where she ends!
[Threatening, Aggressive] HEY! You can fuck with me all you want, I got thick skin, I can take it. (Low voice) But if you go after my friends ever again, I will POP your fucking head off like a Barbie doll!
[Nonchalant] (Rolls Eyes) Alright, enough with the sweet saccharine bullshit, I'm gonna get a cavity and those are only reserved for carnivals, movie nights, and Halloween.
On the surface, Stephanie may look like she's got it all together. I mean, she's smart, polite, dependable, good grades, she seems like the complete package. But you dig deep enough, you'll find she’s actually struggling with the pressure to be perfect. With her friends, she’s more free, funnier, and more open, she's allowed to let out a side of her that just wants to break expectations and be herself.

[Frustrated] It's not enough though, is it? It's NEVER enough! Do you have any idea what it’s like to have to bend over backwards to be the picture of perfection? To have every single little thing you do be judged, graded, measured, compared to someone more successful than you?? DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH PRESSURE THAT IS?! IT- (Takes a deep breath) Sorry, that was uncalled for. I'm just going through...a lot.
[Lighthearted] Alright fine, it may or may not be possible I skipped study group today to hang out with you guys. But if my mom ever asks, just say I was raising money for a umm puppy orphanage-er, animal shelter. Shit, you know what I mean!
[Heartfelt] (Sighs happily) You know, You guys are probably the only people who make me feel like... me. Like, I don't have to put up any masks or charades around you guys. You don't care about status, you just care about people. That means more to me than you'll ever know.
Kimberly is creative, curious, and a just little bit out there. She often sees the world in a whole different lens compared to the people around her. She always brings this warm, optimistic energy to the friend group, which no matter what leads to everyone having a smile on their face by the time the day is through. Though she can be very lighthearted, she has a quiet wisdom to her that surprises people every time it pops up.

[Playful] Don’t laugh, okay? I know how stupid this sounds but I swear, I think clouds have personalities. Here, let me show you. See that one over there? Total diva. I mean, it's big, it's majestic but it's also not a storm cloud. All show and no do? (Singsong) Diivaaa. Oh, and that one? That one's way too shy to rain. Look, it's gray but it's small, it's like it wants to be like the big storm clouds, but it's got no confidence to let it rain. See? There's a method to my madness.
[Optimistic] Oh, you guys! Come on, we'll figure it out. We always do! We're the dream team, remember? The quintissential quartet! The Fearless four! The um... the Kat queens! (Pause) It-It's 'four' in French. Au, Du, Troi, Kat? Eh? Nevermind.
[Surprisingly deep] People think it's better to just float through life. When the reality is floating is fun, but you get more done when your feet are firmly planted on the ground. Daydreaming is great, but the work is what matters most in the end. (Long pause, then Gasps) Ooo cookies! I have been JONESING for a snickerdoodle!
