Nightwing Emerges
Project Overview
Since the death of the Batman, Gotham has been plunged into chaos. Crime bosses have corrupted and taken control of the city. Many officials and people of power are being killed and replaced everyday. Batgirl, taking over the mantle of the Batman, asks an old friend and lover Nightwing to help her. She needs assistance in helping combat the growing issue of the penguin and foreign affairs.

Nightwing is the main character who is cocky, immature, and doesn’t exactly know how to function normally in society. He helps Batgirl on her mission and learns how to get his life back together. Also, he has to rise up and becoming the hero that Gotham needs.
I will win. I will always win. It's because I stand up for what I believe in and have passion towards that belief. When people's lives are threatened by the evils of the world, I will stand up for them. I will be the light that will guide Gotham out of the darkness. I am the protector of this city even if they don’t recognize it. I am Nightwing!
Batgirl is a well known hero that is trying to protect Gotham after Batman has died. She is part of an organization that is trying to save Gotham from corruption, greed, and chaos. Batgirl recruites Nightwing to help her on this venture.
Listen to me, you are still the man I used to know and more. I don’t care what you did in the past, I need you now in the present. Right now this city is on the verge of chaos, since the death of Batman. Mob bosses have increased in power controlling large factions and areas of this city. Many of these mob bosses are controlling most of the GCPD and large communities in Gotham. In these risky times, I need a man I can trust. A man that I know who will not betray me or be influenced by corruption and greed. If I had the slightest doubt about you and your abilities I would never have come here. If you believe in hope, if you believe in the redemption and salvation of this city join me. Join me not as just a friend, but as a partner.
Alfred is the inspirational and father figure towards Nightwing along his journey. Alfred helps and consults with Nightwing on many important decisions. I want Alfred to have a British or English type of voice or tone. I want this to be similar to the Alfred in The Dark Knight Trilogy played by Michael Kane.
Master Grayson, I see something in you that I haven’t seen in a long time. The last time I felt this was the day Master Bruce brought a young man into this house. That young man was you. All you could think of his revenge. Revenge on the man who killed your parents in cold blood. Your only purpose in life became getting revenge. You began to train harder and harder for the day you would have the chance to kill this man. Until, one day you realized that by killing this one man would change nothing. It would not bring your parents back and it would not make your life any better. That day you learned what the moral code is and why it exists. It is so we could tell ourselves apart from the criminals. It is to prevent us from going down the path of vengeance. Going down the path of vengeance is to courtship a path of blood, murder, and inescapable pain. It is to prevent a man from throwing his life away. It is to prevent a man from taking a life. So, Master Grayson will you throw your life away. Will you choose to murder a man inspite of your morality and sanity. Or will your rise and emerge as the hero that Gotham needs. The hero that can stand strong in these dark times.
In this story, the Penguin is greedy and is involved in many illegal activities. He makes crime legal and makes offers to foreign governments. In this, I want the voice of the Penguin to be similar to the Paul Williams Penguin from Batman the Animated Series and The Adventures of Batman and Robin cartoon shows.
Hello, Ladies and Gentlemen of Gotham City. I was about to explain the tremendous progress this city has made through the legislation of the Crime Act. Unfortunately, I have some disturbing news. Nightwing and Batgirl have corrupted the state of Gotham City. They have killed many citizens leaving their bodies scattered on the streets. Just this morning a small bar on the southern part of Gotham was damaged and vandalized. In the process, 50 people were killed in this accident caused by your so called heroes. I will no longer just sit here, while this city and this society are being obliterated by a couple of vigilanties and criminals. I propose from this day forth, a bounty be placed upon on both of their heads. 500 million dollars for each of them dead or alive. This city and its people will not rest until these two vigilantes are dead. Because for now on, I am the law!
Deathstroke is a master assassin that has bumped shoulders with Nightwing before. Nightwing and deathstroke are mortal enemies. In the film he arises to get revenge on Nightwing.
I see your memory isn’t as sharp as I remember. Although, it has been 5 years. 5 years since you left me for dead. Yes, I survived that day. The only reason I survived that day was to see your life destroyed in front of my eyes. If you stay here and don’t move you might still have both eyes, unlike me.
The General is one of the major leaders part of an organization that Batgirl is apart of. The General is a minor character that is only in one scene. Although, he helps Nightwing and Batgirl's character development.
I am afraid so, we are alone. Right now, our nation's security and possibly the world is at risk. You are the only ones that can save us. This establishment and every man in this room is behind you. I just need to know if you are with us?
This is a very minor character. He is only shown in the first scene to further develop Nightwing.
No, I have to do this. Man, you don't understand what I have been going through. You don’t even know who I am. To be honest, I don’t even know who I am anymore. I used to own a small-business in Downtown Gotham. I had a wonderful wife and 2 kids. That was the happiest time of my life. Then, one day I lost everything. The building I had for my business in was completely destroyed by a fight with rival gangs. I lost my business, I lost my family, and I lost a happy life. From there I was bankrupt completely broke and living on the streets. I have no life, no family, and no one I can turn too. I’m sure it’s easy for you to put on a costume and call yourself a hero without any consequences. A real hero rescues and saves people no matter the risk or the reward. A real hero would of saved me that day
Commisioner Gordon is a faithful companion to the bat family. In this instance and film, he is much older and his daughter Barbra has grown to a young woman. Commisioner Gordon has been forced to resign after the corruption that has been happening in his department and all over the city. He helps to consult Batgirl and Nightwing over the current situation.
Good old Barbara, always looking out for her father. I didn’t come home or call my daughter last night because I was discharged from the police force. I didn’t have the faith, dignity, and compassion to call and tell Barbara what happened. I had to have time to think over the situation. I had to comprehend how my department became so corrupt. How members of my team were so easily persuaded by filthy promises from ruthless gangs and crooks. Pretty soon they will be coming for me and there is nothing I can do to stop that.
I need a specific theme for the main character Nightwing in this film. Similar to a Batman theme, but different. It should convey some sort of heroism and a dark tone.
