"Mata, Nichijou!" is a fandub/fan animation of select 'nichijou: My Ordinary Life' manga chapters ranging from volumes 8 through 12. All of which went unadapted during the run of the official KyoAni anime. Either due to being skipped during the run, or simply did not exist yet.
It's meant to serve as a theoretical pitch on what a 'nichijou Season 2' could actually look like in 2026, attempting to synergize with the style of 2025's CITY The Animation and Arawi's current works. While still serving as a faithful and respect facsimile of the aspects that make the original series loved.
This casting call only covers the MAIN recurring characters that important to the project. Though keep in mind you may still be reached out to for super minor or background characters that don't warrant a listing. (i.e Helvetica Standard). It is also likely more roles may be added as well.
The final product will be released onto Youtube and you will be credited accordingly. Thank you to anybody who chooses to audition and I hope we work together and get along well for this project ^_^
SELAMAT PAGI!!
The deadline for submissions did just pass a little bit ago, but I've reopened it for a little more time due to some roles not having very many submissions.
(Still looking at you, Mio and Annaka)
So we've still got time! Keep those submissions coming. Hope to work with you all soon!
Until the next update.

SELAMAT PAGI!!!
Thanks once more to everybody who has submitted to the project so far!
As we're quickly approaching the day of the deadline, you may notice that casting choices for choices for characters may start to drip in on the Casting Call page as we lead up to it.
This doesn't mean it's all over, as and extension is always a possibility. (Especially since some characters such as Mio or Annaka don't have very many submissions if at all.)
But I figured I'd go ahead and make some of the choices I do have.
I'm excited to work on this passion project with all of you and best of luck :D
Until the next update.

SELAMAT PAGI!!
Thank you all to those who have made submissions to Nichi2/Mata Nichijou so far! I'm excited to work with all of you.
In the meantime, while in the process of waiting for more to come in, I've done a lot of work behind the scenes to get the ball rolling. Such as making changes to the script, and most notably, reanimating a big chunk of the original intro sequence! You can watch it here.
I've also gone ahead and made it the official 'pitch video' for this page. So that people who may unsure of joining or generally just curious can get an actual proof-of-concept for the project itself in hand.
That's all she wrote though, so I guess I'll get back to work.
Until the next update.

Voice Actor
A small black alley cat, granted the ability to speak via a red translator scarf by his new owner Hakase. Despite this, he's actually older than both she and Nano by cat years, and is thus the elder of the household. Though in the Shinonome lab, that doesn't amount to much.
(I can and will take this role if needed)
"Geez, you two need to learn some manners. You've got no respect."
"Could you for once add the mister?!"
"How many times do I have to say it before you get it through your thick skull? And what makes you think you can give gum to a cat?!"
Voice Actor
Being humanoid high schooler created by genius child prodigy Hakase Shinonome, she's greatly self conscious about this fact. Plagued by her many robotic features implanted at the whims of a child. Most of all, being the egregious windup key planted firmly on her back.
Nano wants nothing more than to be treated as a normal person and have an ordinary life at Tokisadame High School.
"So that's it? That's the only reason I have a key on my back?"
"It really has no additional features other than that?!"
"Please take it off!"
Voice Actor
Genius 8 year old scientist, yet remains child-like in her behavior and actions. Creator of Nano, despite the latter being her technical maternal and sister figure. She spends her days around the house and making things as she doesn't go to school.
"I wonder what kind of snacks I should buy."
"So I don't get to buy anything but you get to buy whatever you want? YOU'RE SUCH A BIG MEANIE!"
"YES IT IS, you didn't let me get my favoritest snacks but YOU can buy a SNOWMAN just cause he's CUTE!"
Voice Actor
An energetic, friendly student at Tokisadame High School. She enjoys making jokes and trying to make other people laugh. She's carefree to a fault, infamously forgetting her homework all the time and being a total airhead.
"Hey Mio...do you think the principal knows his jokes aren't funny to anybody else but himself?"
"You'd think that he'd take a hint after nobody laughs like ever but it seems like he's in his own world."
"But wait. What if he knows he's not funny and is trying to teach the younger generation about perseverance?! The principal is a criminal mastermind..."
Voice Actor
Friend of both Yuuko Aioi and Mai Minakami, Mio is considered to be the voice of reason among the trio, often being annoyed by their antics. Typically reasonable and very leveled, she is quick to erupt to shouting and violence if she has to defend her...interesting...passions...when it comes to her personal art.
"Are you serious right now? But we just started a new semester. Just think of the possibilities!"
"A motivation to be motivated...hmmm. How about....? YOU JUST DO IT!?"
"What're you doing all...alone...oh god. Oh god, This isn't Yuuko! It's a..a..PSUEDO-YUUKO!"
Voice Actor
An unpredictable, quiet student, best friends of Mio Naganohara and Yuuko Aioi. Famously reserved and nonchalant , it's rare that Mai show any semblance of emotion even as slight as a smile. Instead keeping to herself, studious and reserved. Her most social trait is to the detriment of others, as she loves to pull pranks on ither people (usually Yuuko) just to annoy them.
*false earnestness* Yuuko. Please never make a joke like that again....The jokes you make are always so good. My own aren't nearly as funny."
"I'd rather not bring trust into this, and I don't think we should speak to each other. "
"After all, we aren't friends anymore...We're best friends. We don't need words to convey our feelings."
Voice Actor
Yoshino Naganohara is the older sister of Mio, being about a year or two older, a young college student. She loves to wear costumes and pull practical jokes and pranks against Mio and her friends, often to their detriment, and usually results in Mio physically retaliating. But it’s all in good fun. To her, anyway.
Pronunciation guide: Yoshino: YO-she-NO
(Minor Character)
Ta-da! It was actually your older sister Yoshino the entire time! Bet you didn’t expect that cause I used your uniform as a disguise!
Hey, take it easy! Messing with your clock to set this up wasn’t easy, y’know-
Okay, you’re mad! I’ll make it up to you! How about we get some ramen or sushi? On me, okay?
Voice Actor
Annaka is a bright and happy person, always meaning well for herself and those around her. However, she's easily blindsided, and can get caught off guard. Easily losing her head and composure when overwhelmed by the weirdness surrounding her.
(Helvetica Standard)
Looks like there's gonna be flowing noodles at the park by the shrine today! I've only ever seen this done on TV, but I bet it'd be super fun to do it in real life!
I haven't eaten at all today, so i gotta make sure I snag a bunch of noodles and eat my fill!
(shock) "EEEEEEEEEH?!"
