  • Hey you! Yes you, the... rugged looking one. You look like a good traveler. Someone with fortitude. Someone who doesn't mind getting their boots dirty for a big payout, am I right?

  • Mira. I understand your hesitation. I know how this sounds. I'm going to level with you, friend. Just got word from back West. My wife. She... says our boys are missing. I can't be out chasing treasure knowing my kids might be in danger. I gotta head back to Baja. Tonight. Might as well sell it for a few caps for the road back home. Please. Will you help me?

  • A la chingada... Fine, you want the whole truth? Look. This map is cursed. You'll feel it as soon as it's in your possession. I tried throwing it away, I tried leaving it in the desert. It found me again. I'm not lying about the treasure! You'll know it's real too. The curse should lift as soon as you find it, I'm sure of it. But until then... expect terrible things to happen to you. You'll be hunted, and you'll be haunted. And the cries... This maldicion with my boys, this is the last straw. I don't dare take the map with me back home. Please. Won't you take it? I'm begging you!

Mark – Husband (and father) of main quest family. He was the mastermind behind the prepper bunker and breadcrumb trails for his family that make up the quest. He is absolutely defeated in his words. His entire family is gone, his life's work now meaningless. Spoken contemplatingly, saddened, but also calloused. He is distraught, haunted by the knowledge that his wife and children didn’t live through the end of the world. He's monologuing into a recording device that the player can find, before ultimately ending his life.

  • I always said we'd be ready. Thought I had it all planned out. Every angle covered, every possibility accounted for. Had something set aside for each of them. A way back home.

  • Nikki... I found her and her husband... Couple of fucking looters killed them in the chaos of the bombs dropping. Their bodies were there by the marina, they were headed to their boat, just like we planned. I buried them. Buried the boat in the middle of the lake too, the thieves still on it. Hope they died slow and scared.

  • I could go back. Go pick up the pieces I buried, get everything back up and running again. I could hole up back in that place, live off what I stored. Years, maybe. But no. That wasn’t the plan. I think I'll leave things where they are. Let the desert keep it all. If anyone finds this... then I suppose it all worked. Just not the way I planned. If you manage to find your way in, it's all yours. I don't care anymore. As for me, I reckon I've kept them waiting long enough...
