Tamaki is extremely shy, aloof, depressed, "intimidating", and introverted, especially around big audiences. He gets nervous very easily when talking to other people. If his anxiety gets the best of him, Tamaki will often face away and lean into a wall to hide his face from others.[7] This also happens whenever Tamaki has a bad feeling or feels insulted.
"I might not understand your grief. Your rage. Everything that led you here... but I know all about solid bonds!! And my friends don't use each other... because friends don't eat friends."
"Even if I look out on them imagining that they're potatoes"
"What should I do? I can't... say anything..."
Hanta is amicable and has proven to be one of the more sociable members of Class 1-A. He can sometimes be loud and showy, often trying to impress his peers with his Quirk.
He is often the only person to call his classmates out when they act crazy. He is pretty humorous and usually makes jokes with his classmates. However, when push comes to shove, Hanta is a brave hero-in-training who wishes to prosper on his own while helping others do the same. He makes friends with those around him and is shown to be a very laid-back guy.
Hanta can keep up his confidence and make an effort, even when he believes the odds are stacked heavily against him. This determination is shown when he faced Shoto Todoroki during the Sports Festival and admitted that he felt he couldn't win, but he soon attacked Shoto, saying that he didn't want to lose either. Despite his crushing defeat afterward and failing the Final Exam due to being put asleep by Midnight, he still retains his willingness to continue and improve alongside his classmates.
"I got 84!! Pretty awesome, huh? See, the simpler you are, the better!"
"Now you just need Yaoyorozu to help you study, and you'll be set for the finals!"
"Seriously?! Seriously, Bakugo?!"
Mashirao has a very calm and noble attitude and a profound sense of dignity, which prevents him from accepting results he doesn't feel he earned with his own abilities. He is also described as a hard worker.
Along with a strong sense of dignity, Mashirao can be described as sheepish and bashful, not very often enjoying the spotlight and being easily embarrassed. He is humble yet also reliable and focused during hero work. A recurring joke is that others view Mashirao as "plain," which profoundly upsets him, showing that he's sensitive and self-conscious about his personality and abilities. He tends to be shocked quite easily, such as when he sees Ochaco punch herself in the face and when Eri receives a much bigger sword than her during Class 1-A's Christmas party.
When something excites him, he wags his tail to a dog, though this is only ever seen in the manga
"I feel so out of place, it's making me nervous..."
"Yeah, I've been working out ever since summer vacation started."
"I know this is a great opportunity. And I know how stupid it must seem to throw it away... but this final tournament... everyone else made it here by their own strength. Yet I'm standing here, and I don't even know how or why. I just can't take it."
Rikido is interested in sweets and baking, a valuable skill due to his Quirk.
He is surprisingly talented at making sweets conquering his classmates with his food. The fact that this overly optimistic reaction caught Rikido off guard suggests that he doesn't think much of his abilities as a confectioner.[1] Nevertheless, every week in the dorms, Rikido bakes sweets and shares them with his classmates, which he calls "Sugar Time". To create a gourmet night, he pairs his sweets with Momo Yaoyorozu's tea. He can cook other food, too, as shown during the Christmas party.
"I finished unpacking really early, so I baked a chiffon cake."
"As long as I do this, I have the advantage. I can win."
"It'd be even more delicious with whipped cream, but you guys want some?"
Hitoshi is a stoic and straightforward person with an innate ability to spark conversation with anyone despite holding a reserved and quiet attitude most of the time. He is shown to be rather clever, knowing just the right words to manipulate others into replying to his comments, allowing him to activate his Quirk. He does not mind doing something underhanded to claim victory in a fight.
"Maybe I failed this time, but... I'm not giving up. I'll show them I've got what it takes to make the hero course, and I'll become a greater hero than all of you."
"I'm often told that my ability... seems villainous. But my Quirk can't actually... control a person's heart!!"
"I'm not giving up. I'll show them I've got what it takes to make the hero course, and I'll become a greater hero than all of you."
Neito has a rather complex personality since it differs depending on who he is addressing: he is particularly mocking, loud, and sarcastic with Class 1-A, provocative in battle, and outside of these contexts, he is a calm, kind, and intelligent person. Regardless of how he acts, two of his most prominent traits are him being vocal and eccentric.
"Class A thinks it's so great. Well, let's show 'em... why we in Class B hung back and placed low in the preliminaries."
"I'm happy to see my inexperienced peers reflect and grow. Yes, victory is no longer within Class B's reach but we haven't truly lost yet. Because what I want us all to learn is which lass treads the correct path… the earnest one that keeps its nose clean? Or the class of wholly undeserving reprobates that batches in limelight for all the wrong reasons? We are all, to the last, merely bit players in the lives of others and the stars of only our own!"
"The paradox is that to become heroes, we must act unheroically. Otherwise, we'll never measure up to those capable of greatness. Emulating our idols isn't enough. Surely you've felt this way before... how the hopes and dreams of childhood grow heavy as burdens? As if we are cursed."[
Despite his frightening appearance, Mezo is friendly and gentle and will work nicely with anyone. He is not the type to hold grudges, showing no ill will towards those that harm him unwillingly.
Mezo is entirely selfless and willing to risk his life for anyone. He can be empathetic and understanding but still shows a sense of maturity and responsibility that prevents him from acting under emotional impulses, even if he feels regretful. He is very protective of his classmates, especially if they are hurt or injured. The Ultra Archive book states that his feelings for his friends are stronger than anyone else and doesn't mind sacrificing himself.
"Saving someone always comes with risks. Heroes aren't called heroes for nothing."
"I'm no stranger to being feared."
"I get it. Kirishima's pain over not being able to do anything... and Todoroki's regrets over having Bakugo snatched away before his eyes. I regret it all too. Still... this is no time to let our emotions get the better of us."
Contrary to his powerful and brutish appearance, Koji is timid and quiet. As such, he rarely speaks and prefers using sign language to communicate with his classmates, so much so that Kyoka Jiro assumed that he was mute and was greatly surprised when Koji spoke. According to Fumikage Tokoyami, he is very good at
He appears to enjoy the company of animals, even owning a small rabbit as a pet. With his Quirk, Koji can interact with them in ways others can't. He also owns a few animal dolls and decorations in his room, implying he likes cute things.
Koji suffers from entomophobia, being deathly afraid of bugs, with the mere sight of them making him scream and run away in fear. However, Koji is capable of putting this fear aside if it means helping his comrades, as was shown during the Joint Training Battle when he attempted to use bugs alongside Eijiro Kirishima to take down Jurota Shishida.
keeping secrets. He also hates violence due to his kind-hearted nature.
"That's right. I got into U.A. High, my dream school... At U.A., it's always about moving forward! That's what we tell ourselves... Plus Ultra!!"
"Go on, little ones. Now is the time to take out the man responsible for the noise."
"Even if I wanted to order them to do that"
Does he really need any introduction? C'mon. IT'S KACHAN!
"He'll be fine as long as he dodges!" - (You can yell this one if you wish)
"I'll Keep Fighting. I'll Break Myself. Even If There's Nothing Left Of Me. I Will Win The Way I Want To." - (Do not yell this one)
"You'll regret making a fool of me! I'll freaking kill you! I'm taking the first to end all firsts! There's no point in winning against some half-assed punk! No point if I can't do better than Deku! So if you're not trying to win, get the hell outta my face! Why're you even here, you bastard?!" - (You know what to do)
"Holding power over someone's life is everything! Or don't you believe in following Stain's tenets?!"
"He always had everything. A reason to live on. A goal. Power too. Things I lacked. Everything."
"Toga, I know we're just a gang of strays who happened to find each other... but you're not the only one feeling messed up over Twice. The League was the only place he felt he could belong, and the boss probably wants us to stick together. I know that doing as we please is the villain way... but you'd better come back to us."
Mirio usually comes across as a highly goofy and energetic individual with peculiar habits. Based solely on his personality, many question how Mirio is one of U.A.'s top students. Mirio has a very optimistic attitude and can almost always be found smiling. His character is what led Sir Nighteye to believe that he could be the one to replace All Might as the symbol of peace.
"POWER!"
"None of what I've done was a waste! I'm still Lemillion!!"
"I turned my work-study experience into power that's allowing me to reach for the stars! Which is why, even if you're scared, I wholeheartedly recommend it to you, first-years!!"
