[MLP Fanfiction, Slice Of Life] Miss Hiss And The Dizzy Minion

Hello, and welcome to the casting call for “Miss Hiss And The Dizzy Minion” by Damaged*, a short story about a human in Equestria with motion sickness and a terrifying half-snake-half-pony who uses her irresistible powers of hypnosis for surprisingly wholesome purposes.

So yes, it’s actually a fairly mellow slice of life tale with very low stakes. Sorry if you were expecting something more intense.

If you’re interested, please read the rules and requirements below;

1. A decent quality microphone is required, ideally at least USB. This is not to say that you may not use the microphone on your phone or tablet, but the quality is usually noticeable. Headsets are right out. Sorry.

2. Please leave at least three seconds of silence at the start of your audition recording. This will help me gauge the degree of ambient noise to remove, and whether and how much it may impact the quality of your recording.

3. Your ability to act the character is paramount – for both main roles and small ones, your character is acting and reacting to their situation and circumstances, whether it’s a simple hello, panic, hurt feelings, smugness or any other notch on the emotional range.

4. You can submit as many takes as you wish, including just one. However, please make sure to pay attention to the direction notes [which will typically be presented in square brackets] as they may provide context not present in the lines themselves.

5. If you are not submitting your audition via Casting Call Club, please name your files like this: Miss_Hiss_CharacterName_YourName. So, if I were auditioning, the filename might look something like “Miss_Hiss_Greg_Quinch”.

6. You are welcome to submit your auditions in any commonly-used file format – MP3, MP4, WAV, OGG, FLAC, etc.

7. You can submit your lines via the Casting Call Club page, via email to "thequinch at gmail dot com" or via Discord to the username “thequinch”. For the subject line, use “Casting Call: Miss Hiss and The Dizzy Minion”.

8. You are encouraged to audition for as many roles as you wish.

9. Please have a means of easy communication for direction, production and updates. All the cool kids have Discord, so that’s preferable, but as long as we can keep in contact, I’m flexible.

10. If you’re cast for the role, please be prepared to have your lines finished within one month of being cast. If something comes up that prevents you from completing your character’s lines within that timeframe, please let me know so we can make appropriate accommodations.
