Midnight's Reign
Project Overview
Midnight's Reign is a My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Audio Drama that's been in development since 2020. Inspired by audio dramas from the past like Daughter of Discord and Princess Trixie Sparkle, Midnight's Reign follows the story of a universe created by Starlight Glimmer during the Season 5 finale, a universe that Twilight is the ruler of. But instead of Twilight being a kind ruler, she's become Empress Midnight Sparkle.
Its up to a few Ponyville Residents to save Equestria, before its too late.

We would like voice actors to be pretty show accurate, but we're not looking for perfection of course. Just try your best! <3
We are also looking to work with people who are at or over the age of 16 years old.

(Bashful) “Oh, it’s nothing, really, it’s just easy for me to understand where they’re coming from.”
(Dreamy/Happy) “And the garden of the castle is just lovely. I’d love to see the plants and animals that live there.”
(Assertive) “No buts. I know you want to please everypony the best you can with your parties, but not at the expense of yourself. Have you had a chance to eat?”
Southern Accent, feminine, young adult, leading role
(Happy) “It’s great to meet a new face! My name is Applejack, and this is my friend Fluttershy. We live over at Sweet Apple Acres near the edge of town!”
(Reassuring, calming down) “Easy now. Another deep breath with me, sugar cube. It’s gonna be alright. You need anythin’?”
(Matter-a-factly) “Of course Fluttershy knows! I told her that I’d eat what I can and share the rest!”
Young adult woman, leading role
(Searching) “Predictions and Prophecies, Predictions and Prophecies…why in Equestria would someone need an old book filled with filly’s tails so bad?”
(Shocked) “What in Equestria’s name are you all doing here so early?”
(Casual) “The same offer is open to you two as well. After you return these, you can start to take two books at a time. Just be sure to return them when you’re finished.”
Peppy, young female adult, leading role
(Peppy) “I didn’t catch your name! I’m Pinkie Pie! I’m a baker and a party planner and a royal head chef and-”
“(giggle) Well, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t realize that when we first met. I’m glad you like it!”
(Tired) “It’s just been a long couple of days. I wanted to make sure I got here as soon as I could.”
(Accusatory) “Just what do you think you’re doing?? Are you spying on us?”
(Teasing) “You just want an excuse to look at all those magic books. You were raving about them the moment you got here the first day you went in”
(Sheepish) “I should apologize too. I’m sorry for treating this stuff like it’s pointless when it means so much to you.”
(Earnestly) “Sweetie Belle is my younger sister. She was so excited when she came back with her book, it kept her entertained while I worked, so I appreciate that you’ve opened up the library.”
(Flabbergasted) “You mean you’ve been to the Gala and never thought to tell me? I’m offended! I’m hurt!”
(Disinterested) “Look, Rainbow Dash, this is the last of what I have to do before tomorrow.”
(Panting) “I’m… I’m sorry, are you still open? I just need a couple minutes, I know the exact book I need.”
“Do you happen to have any extra books you just haven’t- you know- sorted through? Some books in a personal collection?”
(Pointed) “You can either leave, go back home, pretend you didn’t hear anything, didn’t remember that I’m an old classmate of yours, and continue to keep your head down and avoid the Empress for as long as you can.”
Older adult male, Medium predicted line count, appears late in the series
“Who, me? I’m the lord of chaos, Discord! The creature behind the curtain? You haven’t heard the legends?”
(Cheeky) “Please, I haven’t had this much fun since you began your ruling!”
(Taunting) “You aren’t even an Element of Harmony! What could you do to hurt me?”
Adult Male, deep and threatening as well as sassy at times. Low predicted line count, appears midway through the series
(Bored) “I can’t believe you’re holding a party. This is unbearable.”
(Threatening) “The Crystal Heart is mine. I will not allow you to take it from me!”
(Nonchalant) “Maybe you can’t handle this, Midnight, perhaps I should pull the Empire’s support.”
Young adult female, ability to do both Midnight, who sounds a little bit darker and more threatening, and Twilight, who does not. Medium predicted line count, many more lines closer to the end of the series.
(Directing, as Midnight) “Check the train stations, ask if anypony that matches her description has left recently. It’s imperative that we find her.”
(Midnight) “I appreciate that you’re willing to let us keep these here for now. This will definitely help us move along in our studies.”
(Shocked, as Twilight) “What do you mean?! Moon Dancer, we’re friends!”
Dark and threatening as Nightmare Moon, then more regal as Princess Luna. The ability to do both is appreciated. Adult female, Low predicted line count, more lines closer to the beginning of the series
(Nightmare Moon) “(sigh) They will be meaningless in my castle, for I do not know what kind of spell Celestia used to render them in such a useless state.”
(Nightmare Moon, pleased) “My my, so many guests have been brought to see this first night that shall last an eternity. I am honored that many ponies wish to show their appreciation for the night.”
(Princess Luna, after just waking up) “What happened? Where is Celestia?”
Young adult female, Medium predicted line count, close to the middle of the series
(Introducing) “My name is Cadence, and I was supposed to be the ruler of the Crystal Empire… before Sombra arrived.”
(Tired) “I’m sorry we can’t go with you, but I trust you can handle this on your own.”
(Comforting) “I understand, Moon Dancer. We all lost somepony important that day.”
Adult female, low predicted line count, appears near the end of the series
“I’m proud of you, Sunset, you’ve managed to learn so much while I was away.”
“I’m going to send you to Ponyville for the Summer Sun Celebration, it’ll give you the fresh start you need.”
(Excited) “Luna! Oh it’s been so long, I’m sorry to have kept you waiting, sister.”
Older Adult woman, low line count, appears towards the end of the series
(chastising) “Don’t you want to be the best? Don’t you want to meet the Princess?”
(annoyed) “There is more to life than playing games! You must focus on your studies.”
“I will be your mentor, child, and I will have you become one of the best unicorns this school has ever seen.”

(Bored/Bothered) “But what’s the fun in feeding off the love of ponies if we can’t trick them first?”
(Intrigued) “A wedding, hm? Perhaps we should pay the happy couple a visit and give them our wishes.”
(Taunting) “You ponies are always so trusting. It’s so easy to break you all down.”

(Relieved) “Moon Dancer! I hoped we’d find you here. Do you have a second to chat?”
(Explaining) “This is where we’ve been living ever since Sombra returned with the Crystal Empire. We fought him off for as long as we could, but he ended up being too powerful.”
(Shouting) “Twilight what is all this?! What’s going on with you?”
Young boy, Medium predicted line count, appears late in the series
(Trying to look on the bright side) “Hey at least the day’s here! And it looks like Ponyville is in one piece! And…and the castle’s gone.”
(Concerned) “Moon Dancer..? What happened to the Spike in this world?”
“The tree of harmony? You know, the tree that the Elements came from?”

(Even) “Your majesty. The guards found Moon Dancer’s home empty. There’s no sign of her.”
(Announcing) “Fillies and Gentlecolts; your Empress, Midnight Sparkle!”
(Annoyed) “I suggest you refrain from continuing that statement. We can cease our allyship with the Changelings and you won’t be given an Element.”
Young adult, nervous male. Medium predicted line count, appears in the middle of the series
(Shocked) “Sunset? Is that you? I thought you wanted to get away from all this.”
(Angry) “I’m not a little kid anymore! I can handle myself, Sunset!”
(Flustered) “O-Oh! I mean- I suppose a new cloak couldn’t hurt. Only if you wanted to make a new one, no pressure, of course.”

(Peeved) “I don’t think I will ever understand, you Pinkie Pie.”
“Of course your majesty. I’ll venture to Ponyville and see if I can locate them.”
(Conflicted) “I’ve pledged my allegiance to the Empress. I can’t just let you out because I like you.”
