Memory Leak is a 6 min thesis film. It leans into some light surrealist horror elements, and contains period accurate transphobia for the mid 2010s. It's based partly on my own experiences as a queer person and examines the way new technology can complicate interpersonal relationships.
Some inspirations include Mulholland Drive (2001), Steven Universe (Specifically s1 ep19 "Rose's Room"), and Paprika (2006).
I'm using 2D animations over 3D backgrounds with a lot of stylization (but I don't need help with that part, I love compositing <3). It also features an original soundtrack (that I may need help with at some point but not yet). I have a full animatic with scratch audio that still needs polishing but the script is very mature at this point.
The deadline is the end of July, with recording starting in August.
I've listed this as an unpaid role mainly because I'm a student and my ideal budget is $0, but I would like to pay what I can once recording is finished. I just can't promise a specific amount, so think of it like a tip for being awesome and not a money making opportunity.

Hi folks! There's about 10 days left to make your submissions, but wow has there been some good ones so far. I've shortlisted a handful of people (idk who can see that aside from me) and I'm going to start reaching out to those folks this week with some questions and more info on the project.

Toby is a tall and scrawny Midwestern teenage boy, raised with classic shooters like COD and Halo. He's a bit antisocial, but very sweet once you get to meet him. He's on the verge of discovering he might be queer, but struggles to it into words.
This is a lead role with a lot of talking, but since he's soft spoken it shouldn't be particularly difficult (no screaming or anything like that). I'm definitely looking for a masc voice, and I'd prioritize any queer and/or POC.
His design is open for discussion as well. I really don't have a strong idea of what he sounds like or what ethnicity he is, so I'd like to tailor that based on who applies.
Not looking for any particular equipment or software. Just know while I plan on recording this summer I might ask you to re-record a few things over the next year.
(Tip: Take your time with the readings. I appreciate some slow pacing and this is a very awkward character)

This is basically just off brand combination of Tifa, Aerith and Zack from Final Fantasy VII. She's got an upbeat, and charming personality.
This role has a grand total of 2 lines, so it's minor, but it's a voice I can't do myself, so here we are. Queer people and POC highly encouraged.
The lines are all basically scrambled versions of this custcene so I'm not sure what other directon to give than "imagine if Tifa said that instead". You don't have to record the whole thing, though, I've put the lines below.
I'm not picky about hardware, but I will be coordinating things over discord, so ideally you should be able to be in a VC and record at the same time.
