Casting is Done! (For now…)
I have cast Aya and Joe, yay!!! However, new characters will be coming along soon enough, as well as little extra parts that I will be reaching out to some of you about as they’re needed. Thank you so much!
Hi! I’m NerdleVA, and I’m new to the voice acting scene. I would really love this to be my first project on my voice acting channel, and need some help!
If you’ve never read TGSWIIWAGAA, here’s the premise: A girl named Aya enjoys American rock music, a passion that isn’t shared with anyone she knows. She’s ecstatic about the music store she stumbles across that caters to this love—but even more ecstatic about the mystery boy that works there. Plot twist (but not really because it’s the title of the manga)! The music store boy is actually a female schoolmate that sits next to her in class, Mitsuki.
In this project, I will be providing the voice of Mitsuki. We will be working on dubbing chapters 0-5 first, and see how it goes from there. If you’ve never read the manga, I recommend looking over the Fandom Wiki for the character you intend on auditioning for.
I’m very excited to get this ball rolling and work with some other VAs!

Hi everyone! First of all, I would love to thank everyone who auditioned. The interest in this project is beyond what I could have asked for, especially since this is my first one! So, auditions are closed (for now). I say for now because I will likely need more cast members in the future. I have already cast Chizuru and Mao (congratulations!), and even casting from a smaller pool took me an hour of deliberation! I hope to cast Aya and Joe by noon tomorrow. Even if you aren’t cast for those roles, I will be reaching out to some of you for an ensemble cast since there are a lot of background characters with one-off lines. Thank you again for your auditions, and stay tuned!
Aya is a gyaru, so I want her voice to be very animated and reasonably high pitched. However, I don’t want her to sound totally bubblegum-y since I want her to feel more grounded than her friends. Aya is one of two main characters, so she has the most amount of lines. Please submit your audition in AABBCC format.
“I haven’t been able to see him at all lately!! Maybe he switched shifts or something…? This suuucks….”
“Music must be listened to alone. Your own beat is your own domain. Or so I thought….”
“T-the album…. Thank you very much for lending it to me!!”
Joe’s an older guy, very hip and cool. (Can you tell I know how to converse with the youths?) (That was originally a joke about me, but honestly, it applies to him too.) I want him to sound very generic secondary lead mentor anime character. Joe is, in fact, a secondary lead, so he will have a good chunk of lines. Please submit your audition in AABB format.
“Hey Mitsuki, have you thought about inviting any of your school friends to drop by here?”
“They are friends… right? Since that seemed more like… she was getting hit on…?!”
Chizuru seems to be the ringleader of Aya’s friendgroup, so I want her to sound the most nasally. (Not too nasally, you know that popular girl nasal sound?) Chizuru only has 3-5 lines in the first batch of chapters, but continues as a minor character through the story. Please submit your audition in AABB format.
“I bet he’s totally forgotten what you even look like by now, LOL!”
“‘Sides, we don’t listen to that sorta stuff anyway.”
I would love for Mao’s voice to sit incredibly girly, but a little less intense than Chizuru. Mao will only have 1-3 lines in the first batch of chapters, but continues as a minor character through the story. Please submit your audition in AABB format.
“Are you talking about the dude at the record shop?”
“That’s right, that’s right, I’ve never even heard of those guys before.”
