Project Overview
Yestergirls is a deconstruction of the magical girl genre, examining the lives of a magical girl team in their mid-30s. The script is a dramedy and will feature strong language, violence, and sexual themes (though no sex or nudity).
The format is an audio play supplemented by images (here's a link to the first episode for an example). We have no definitive end to this project, so anyone auditioning for a main character we'd like to be able to stick around as long as their life's circumstances permit. Main characters will have a lot of lines, but they will be spread out as each episode takes a month or two to get out.

Misty is part of a magical team, and a main character for the series. Her specific element is love, which mostly translates to the healer of the group. She's very girly, and should have a pretty cute voice, but she's also in her late 20s, so it shouldn't sound like a child. She's very bubbly and seemingly ditzy on the outside, though she also has a degree in psychology and is pretty thoughtful.
Misty is bi-sexual and will eventually have romantic scenes with another woman. If this makes you uncomfortable, then you might not want to audition.
I don’t know. He’s nice, I guess. I mean, like, really nice. But, he’s just kind of… I mean, like... Okay, so last Saturday was our six month anniversary, and I know that’s not the biggest deal, but I said we should probably do something fun, and he was like, “Oh, I have the perfect idea!” And he signed us up to work at a soup kitchen for the night.
Blaaaarg, can we change the subject? Let’s talk about your would-be boyfriend instead. Let’s see. What was wrong with your last one again?
(responding to a question) How old is dirt? Hehe, I don’t know. Really old, I guess!
Nepheline is a being created by the series villain, Thes, and is a secondary main character. He is Thes' personal assistant, and by this, that mostly means keeping the rabble away. It also means agreeing with everything she says and praising her with every opportunity.
His voice should be filled with snooty superiority, as everyone in the multiverse is unworthy of his lady, and by association, himself as well.
Greetings, my lady, did you catch your prey?

Alejandro is a well educated professor of law. He's been trapped in a pit in the jungle for four months, and is tired and worn out. However, he still maintains a dry sense of humor.
Alejandro is an extra, and will only require one session of reading.

Neokrylon is a travelling merchant from a cyberpunk universe. She has an aggressive and sassy personality, unwilling to take no for an answer when it comes to her wares. She can have any accent, but should sound fairly lowborn.
Neokrylon is an extra, and will only require one session of reading.
I’m sorry, I just couldn’t help it. Your mistress just has such beautiful hair. Surely she’d like to have a look at these nice extensions to help accentuate her long, silken locks.

Ayla is Misty's best friend and a secondary main character. She is Misty's roommate and works as a part time vlogger, part time model. She's of Vietnamese/Cape Verdean ancestry, but has lived in Southern California her whole life.
She's soft spoken, and well read, but not shy. She has high confidence and is very ambitious.

All this talk about milk has given me a serious craving for a milkshake.
