Lynchian PS1 Animated Series
Project Overview
Hey everyone! I'm an indie musician and YouTube documentarian with a passion for storytelling. I'm currently developing the pilot episode for an original animated series done with a PlayStation1 visual aesthetic.
Inspired by David Lynch's Twin Peaks and 80s and 90s police shows like NYPD Blue and Law & Order, the series is set in New York City, 1987. Details of the plot and characters are withheld for the moment, but the story is largely an ensemble drama with supernatural and mystery elements.
Since my budget is very limited, I will be doing pretty much everything in the development process except voice acting. As it's set in NYC, I'm generally looking for New Yorker accents, but neutral American will also work great.
Please note that there is a wide range of roles available with varying payment rates, from unpaid to $20. Unpaid parts max out at around 50 words. The highest paying lead has a little over 1,000 words in the screenplay.
I'm hopeful about continuing the series beyond the pilot, so many of the characters in the pilot will return but may have different prominence in the script, resulting in different payment rates.
Please submit recordings with the built in audition feature. I'm looking forward to hearing all of you!
Thanks very much for your participation!
LEAD ROLE. New York detective with marriage troubles navigates the world of art crime. He's level-headed and smart, but does his work with a dash of sarcasm and dark humor to make light of the dark goings on in his life. Think Robert De Niro in Midnight Run.
