LOVE SAPPER- COMPOSER NEEDED!
Project Overview
INTRO:
Hello! My name is Lauren Keating and I am a Senior Animation Major at the School of Visual Arts. I am currently in need of a composer for my thesis film: Love Sapper (working title)!
SUMMARY OF FILM:
The day starts out the same as any other for visual novel romance love interest Venus- cycling through the same tired dialogue options for hours at a time with a player whose face she's never seen. Suddenly, the dialogue boxes she knows like the back of her hand start glitching. Violently. That's no problem right? probably just a bug that's yet to be patched? As the distortion continues, Venus is transported to and area of the game she had never seen before, and she meets someone she never knew existed.
MISC LOVE SAPPER FACTS:
This film will be 2.5D! Blender backgrounds with character animation done with the grease pencil!
I plan to have the film done in April (as per my school's deadline), but final polishing might leak into the summer!
When I finish the film I would really like to post it to YouTube and maybe enter it into my school's film festival!
This goes without saying, but I'm gonna say it anyway! The composer chosen for this film will 100% receive credits for their work at the end of the film.
MINOR LOVE SAPPER CLARIFICATIONS REGARDING THE ROUGHCUT:
Characters will have a textbox accompanying them whenever they speak, if ever they are missing from a shot it is because they have not yet been added to the rough animation. They will be in the final.
IMPORTANT INFO:
I am a student with a student budget, so 100$ is unfortunately the most I can pay.
The film is just under 4 minutes, coming in at around 3 minutes and 35 seconds!
Payment is in USD and will be sent through PayPal or Venmo!
I would prefer for the final audio files to be .WAVs if possible!
I would prefer to contact the final composer through discord but email also works fine!
I will be including a rough cut of the film with scratch music so that those who wish to audition can better get a feel of the mood I'm looking for throughout!

The deadline for auditions is Tuesday, January 16th at 11:00PM ET! Afterwards I will review the submissions and try to get back to the final composer as soon as possible! Please know that if you audition you are already doing me a massive service, and I am grateful for every submission!

Looking for background music for my Thesis film at SVA!
in terms of what I am looking for musically, the first and final part of the film (aka the scenes in the more cheerful "dating sim" areas) should have cheerful, unassuming, dreamy music. The middle of the film (aka the lead-up and climax of the film inside the game) should have a more menacing sound to it with a slight lull when Venus and P.C. are talking! Feel free watch the rough-cut for a better mood reference!
I am looking for a video game-esque sound (obviously) and while the rough-cut has a lot of chiptune scratch music, don't be afraid to audition with non-chiptune tracks! :]
