LifeStories Podcast: Lost Outside Oxford

Project Overview

Hi! I'm Max, and this is my podcast, LifeStories. I take people's funny stories about their life and turn them into short radio dramas. I've attached the Spotify Link for context on what this project is. This episode is about Emma's trip to Oxford during her semester at study abroad. What was going to be a joyful  short trip to the university turned into a late night scramble to a mysterious inn & tavern, with missteps all along the way.

Emma's friend is normally her rock, except for this time, where she forgets her wallet the second before the two of them go off for a trip to Oxford. This leaves Emma's friend on edge throughout most of the trip, which underlines a lot of the lines she says.

  • I’m leaving it up to you. Just tell me how much I’ll owe you. We can figure it out.

  • where’s my wallet…? Where’s my wallet?!

Role assigned to: Ross K. Foad

This is the first person Emma and her friend encounter when they step off the bus into Oxford. He's your standard ominous, foreboding deep male voice that tells the heroes to turn back.

  • Uber’s do not exist in Oxford, my lady.

  • You tourists, are the scum that plagues this land.

  • (ominous, aimless muttering.)

The one comforting presence throughout this story, this older English lady is one of the servers at the inn & tavern that Emma and her friend find themselves at. This lady naturally exudes warmth and comfort.

  • Well, Traditional English Breakfast starts at 6:00 and ends at 9:00.

  • Oh, the bus to Oxford runs every hour on the hour.

  • I’m sorry dear, you just missed it.
