Big fan of actor Cliff Gordon, the Lightning Ninja is swift in every way. Fast-talking and quick-witted, the problem is that he speaks and acts first, only thinking later. This also means he has a tendency to panic and be overdramatic. While Jay thinks he’s a wise-cracking comedian, he’s always unintentionally funny within his very childish acts, and he is too easy to tease, but this naivety makes him lovable. He’s also a genius when it comes to turning scrap into machines, just like his parents, Ed and Edna.

Jay struggles with his confidence, especially when the enemy is around. He learns that he can apply his ninja training directly into combat. Inevitably, it is the Ninja of Lightning who is the first to master the art of Spinjitzu.

Master Wu, son of the First Spinjutsu Master and big brother to Garmadon, has vowed to uphold his father’s legacy and protect the NINJAGO world from evil. An expert in the art of Spinjutsu and the ways of the ninja, Wu shares his knowledge with his students and tries hard to impart his wisdom! He is a patient and peaceful man that enjoys a good cup of tea, but don’t let his old age fool you! This Master is still lightning-fast and more powerful than most ninjas.

Wu seeks out the son of an old friend and tries to train him as a ninja. Kai, his new recruit, must learn patience … and so does Wu. While he has confidence in all four of his students, it seems they need time to master Spinjutsu. In the end, Wu learns that to protect the NINJAGO world there are sacrifices that only he must bear.

Kai's loyal sister, Nya has been taken by the Skeleton army as bait to lure Kai into a deadly trap! How will she escape? Only time will tell.

Corrupted by evil as a young man, Wu’s brother slowly filled with evil to become Lord Garmadon, the arch nemesis of good ninjas everywhere. Evil mastermind Lord Garmadon is trapped in the Underworld, so he orders Samukai to find all four Golden Weapons. 

The four-armed leader of the Skeleton Army, Samukai was the ruler of the Underworld prior to Garmadon’s arrival there. He formed an uneasy alliance with Garmadon to conquer NINJAGO and obtain the four Golden Weapons of Spinjitzu. Samukai led the Skeleton Army to the surface, but he was often frustrated by just how dense many of his troops were.

As the only son of the evil Lord Garmadon and future dark ruler, Lloyd has some big shoes to fill. It's not easy being bad, and he works tirelessly to become the super villain he is destined to be... or so he thinks...

Acidicus is as dangerous as the Toxic Bogs the Venomari call their home. Victims who have been hit by the Venomari venom hallucinate and sometimes see their worst fears materialize before them.

Chieftain Acidicus is the brains of the otherwise intelligently challenged Venomari. He has cleverly constructed vials the Venomari can use for carrying extra venom in their combat gear, so they never, ever run out of venom in battle. He is at times skeptical of Pythor’s efforts to release the Great Devourer and destroy humanity.

Originally the champion warrior of the Hypnobrai tribe, this cold and calculating snake became chief of the Hypnobrai tribe when he beat Chief Slithraa in a fight. Skales is one of the toughest Serpents and is always looking for opportunities to fulfill his ambitions for control and power. He is skilled in Fang-Kwon-Do, an ancient martial art.

Skalidor has neglected exercise for as long as the Constrictai have been in confinement, so even for a Constrictai, he's a little on the heavy side. Despite that, his reflexes are flawless.

The Constrictai roam in their underground tunnels and caves. When they move, the ground above them trembles, and they leave giant cracks in their path. Skalidor stops at nothing. If all else fails, he can always crush an enemy just by sitting on him or roaring in his face.

Fangtom is the chief and brains behind the Fangpyre tribe. As the (double) head of a strong but fairly small tribe, Fangtom’s best bet is to use the Fangpyres’ greatest strength to create reinforcement: their venom can transform anyone or anything into a snake. Once Fangtom accidentally bit himself, which is why he now has two heads. You might say he bit off more than he could chew...

PYTHOR was a champion of the Anacondrai, the most feared tribe of Serpentine in Ninjago. Hungry for world domination, and after his brothers' mysterious disappearance, Pythor gathered four Serpentine tribes and led them against humanity in the Great War. He desires all four Fang Blades so that he can release the Great Devourer and destroy Ninjago Island.

Loud, hard and strong, Kruncha is one of the four generals in the Skeleton Army. He is constantly bickering with General Nuckal. Kruncha is mean and will crush anyone who dares to get in his way. 

Nuckal is childish, wild and very dangerous and if there is any trouble to be found, Nuckal will find it! Watch out Ninjas - this bony brute can strike you down with his lightning-fast moves and his bony battle skills.

This fearsome skeleton is a General in Garmadon's Army. He even takes control of the Army in Samukai's absence. Stealth is his special skill, and he always watches and waits for the right moment to attack his enemy.

Misako is Garmadon’s wife and Lloyd’s devoted mother. Smart, strong, and independent, Misako worked as a museum curator at the NINJAGO Museum of History and is also a school teacher, teaching NINJAGO mythology. Although she is an academic, she is also a lover of adventure and has never been content to sit behind a desk. Misako knew Lloyd would eventually figure out his father’s identity someday, and so, she was forced to tell him the truth. After reuniting with Lloyd, she became involved in many of the ninjas' adventures.

Misako fled as Garmadon turned evil and was forced to hide the truth from Lloyd for 12 years in the hope of giving him a normal life. She threw herself into finding his son after he ran away, hoping to uncover a way to restore her old family again. She is overjoyed to be reunited with Lloyd and to see the heroic Green Ninja he’s become today. 

Kozu was the brightest and most dangerous of all the Stone Warriors. While the Stone Army was made of indestructible dark matter mined on the Island of Darkness, the Overlord wrought Kozu in white with the red facial patterns of a stage hero. These were the source of his power. He seems to speak the language of the whole Stone Army, but only because he took all the warriors who spoke difficult dialects and threw them into the Mouth of Eternal Shadows. Problem solved.

The dark reflection of the First Spinjutsu Master, the Overlord is the source of evil in the world. Also known as the Dark Lord, the Overlord was consigned to the Dark Island after the First Spinjutsu Master defeated and diminished him. Existing as a spirit, the incredibly powerful Overlord plotted to return to the human plane of existence, using Garmadon and the Stone Army as his pawns. He is a skilled manipulator who has directed events from behind the scenes for centuries. His original form is unknown...
