Project Overview

Welcome to our fan season for Lego Monkie Kid! This project was created to create a storyline that follows the events of season 4 and its special. We are looking for a few more voice actors/actresses to voice a few characters for the show. We are also looking for extra animators and storyboard artists for making this dream a reality.

If you are unfamiliar with Lego Monkie Kid, it follows the main character M.K. as he trains under the legendary Sun Wukong, going on adventures and defeating demons using his staff as he learns to use his powers and save the world!

All work is in English, and you should learn to pronounce certain Chinese names and other dialects correctly. No worries if you need some direction, though! Do not stress too much about the pronunciation in the audition. We will work with you and give you the correct version if selected.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Most of these roles are minor, with most only getting one or two episodes for lines. If you would want to get involved in another part of the show (i.e. storytelling, animating, etc.) then please feel free to add that to your audition notes!

We mainly communicate on Discord, so that is a requirement for auditioning.

Feel free to slate your auditions, but it is NOT required!

A decent mic and audio program is required, but it doesn't have to be professional quality. Also, try to keep background noise to a minimum so we can hear your wonderful voices!

PLEASE NOTE

I am NOT the director for this production, and I will be sending your auditions to the actual director in order to get the best opinion on voices. We are not especially picky, but we do want a certain type of voice.

On that note, the director lives in NZST time zone, meaning that I may not reach back out to you until they wake up and listen to it. I put the auditions in EST since that is my own time zone and I will be able to listen to them easier.

13+ is required due to discord's TOS as well as some people's comfort zones. Further rules will be on the discord if you are selected.

These roles are UNPAID and the project itself is NOT affiliated with Wildbrain, Flying Bark Studios, or LEGO.

    Hi everyone!

    Sorry for the late update, I have been busy with college and the holidays and have not had the time to sit down and write an update!

    I am LOVING the auditions so far, they are all so awesome! I have decided to extend the deadline until January 10th (which is our first deadline for our finalized scripts for episodes 1 & 2) so I can see more work, mainly because I love meeting new LMK fans and want to open the floor to more people.

    Please note that I have not commented on submissions as I have in my previous casting calls mainly because I have been so busy, but if you are selected I'll give you my notes then! I hope everyone has had a happy holidays and have a happy new year! Since no new Lego Monkie Kid season is releasing in 2025, it's time to make this next year a fan-filled one!

A supporting character in the Lego Monkie Kid series. He plays more of a role in the series than in the actual season 5 so more emotional range is needed to fully capture the essence of the role. He appears in most of the episodes for the season, which amounts to around 15 ten-minute episodes, even if just for a single line.


We are looking for a voice that can mimic/be similar to the voice talents of the late Billy Kametz and the present voice actor Alejandro Saab. As well as that, please try to copy the tone and inflections done by a placeholder VA! The voice clips for inspiration are listed below:

"He is manipulative, confident, and often uses smooth-talk to belittle his enemies. Macaque enjoys theatrics and is very dramatic. He is also very petty."

While meant to be wise, the baboon's empathy allows his voice to be softer and kinder compared to the Gibbon. He's much more expressive and optimistic, giving off a more youthful tone despite his immortality. His voice is silky smooth - meaning it's gentle and his pitch is a bit higher than the average adult male. He has a fatherly tone and has more variety in his dialogue.
