Project Overview
Hello and thank you for checking out our Casting Call for Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service Manga Dub. We are a dubbing and abridging group primarily known for our Comic Dubs, and we have a need for new voice over talent to lend themselves to these new and recurring roles. These roles are NOT COMPENSATED.
We'd love to hear from as many talented and passionate Actors as we possibly can, however to maintain the level of quality that we strive to reach—we are going to be setting a few ground rules.
Requirements & Information:
•Please utilize a USB or XLR Microphone. Microphones such as Phone Microphones, Headsets, etc. will not be accepted.
•You will be cast based on your quality and performance. Be variable with your inflections and delivery, and please take steps to ensure that your audition has as little to no reverb as possible. We will be gauging your recording setup on your audition for Casting Decisions.
•Record only the audition lines provided. Please do not slate.
•We will not be casting any role before the deadline.
•We'll be using CCC to get in contact with those chosen for the role, and from there we will be utilizing Discord for interactions and recording.
•Any roles with the lead tag are recurring roles throughout the series and require a pretty hefty amount of time commitment, so keep that in mind when auditioning.

Deadline pushed back one week!

Bio:
A student Buddhist monk with average grades who shaves his head. He has the ability to "speak" with the recently deceased by the means of touching their bodies, allowing the team to learn their "clients'" desires.
What I’m looking for:
I'm looking for a voice in the medium-low range with the feeling of boredom in your voice. This character goes through a bit of character development so I'm looking for someone to be able to change their voice as the character develops. Also this character is a main character so if you can't keep up with deadlines this isn't the role for you. Looking for someone who sounds like Jean from Attack on Titan.
(Introduction, Normal everyday voice) My name’s Kuro Karatsu. A fourth-year student in an average Buddhist University. And there’s nothing as cold as winter break, your senior year… ...when you count up all your average grades, and average them out… to average. And you wonder how you’re going to pay for all your wasted time.
(Explaining) Kunio Yanagita wrote about this place here… Aozasa Village in Tono. That’s why the tourists come to visit, because Tono Monogatari made it famous. But then he says here in Chapter 268, “ There is also a Dendera Field in Tsuchibuchi village’s Azatakamuro… Each village had its own Dendera field specified for that purpose…” You see what I mean…? It’s like it’s a generic name. There could be a “Dendera Fields” all over this area… If I read this right, maybe all over North Eastern Japan.
(Shocked) ...I’ve never seen their memories before… It’s strange… she wasn’t murdered. She put herself in the altar so that there would be one less mouth to feed. And she asked to be cast off… in the old way.

The brains behind the company, a tall woman with long black hair. A skilled hacker and general computer expert. She also has a large information network and sometimes uses bribes (such as pictures of dead idols) as the means to achieve these ends.
What I’m looking for:
I'm looking for a voice in the medium to low range for this role. She is cool, calm and collected. You feel like she always has a plan for everything. I’m looking for someone who sounds like Kurisu Makise from Steins Gate.
(Informative) Yeah. Most people at our school, their parents run a temple or something… their kids are going to take over someday. But me and my friends, we’re looking to take our experiences here at Buddhist college and apply them to the real world. We’re thinking, there’s got to be other ways to make money off this.
(Slight Frustration) Hey… I told you how we were going to do this, Karatsu. You don’t bring any bodies here before you discuss how they’re going to pay!
(Vengeful) Do I want revenge on someone… ever since I can remember

Bio:
He uses a pendulum to dowse for the dead which enables him to find the bodies needed for the team's delivery work. Numata puts on a tough guy image including leather jackets and sunglasses, although he enjoys sides of Japanese pop culture which are rarely associated with such an image, such as interest in Japanese idol singers. He is physically the strongest of the group, but also tends to be the most emotional.
What I'm looking for:
I’m Looking for a voice in the Medium to Low range for this role. I’m basically looking for a low, tough sounding voice. I want someone who kinda sounds like Kiryu From Yakuza.
(Informative) She was a performer who came out of the TV Dramas. A pure young Idol, she embarked upon a musical career...but tragically, the group broke up. It broke the hearts of all her fans…
(Running and Yelling) WAIT! I GOT A QUESTION!

Bio:
A timid guy who wears a felt puppet on his left hand which he claims channels an alien intelligence. He seems to be a big nerd even though it only rarely shows through. He is fond of advanced mathematics like Mandelbrot and Julia sets and his apartment is filled with various sci-fi and most notably Star Wars memorabilia. Like Sasaki, he is also fairly knowledgeable about literature and urban legends.
What I'm looking for:
I’m looking for a medium to high range for this role. He’s not shy, he's reserved. Looking for someone who is like Jacuzzi Splot from Baccano. Just without the raspy voice.
(yelling) Okay, Okay! I know that’s why they hired me! (Defeated) I don’t have any special powers… like Numata or Karatsu… I don’t know any skills like Keiko or Sasaki… I know I’m useless…
(Surprised/ A little scared) Th- this isn’t a legend… you really can animate a dead person with the Hangon Technique… only to kill them again.
(Calm/ Normal) And what good is it to protest after the war starts? Kind of pointless, isn’t it?

Bio:
A very foul-mouthed alien life form which communicates through Yata's hand puppet, though the group is at least in the beginning very skeptical if this alien isn't Yata himself or a split personality expressed via ventriloquism. Yata often apologizes for Kere Ellis' unruly behavior and often has his left hand physically abused in reaction to the alien's verbal attacks. Kere Ellis' design changed significantly from the first chapter to the second but remained constant since.
What I’m looking for:
I’m looking for a medium range for this role. Looking for someone who isn’t afraid of saying risky shit. I need more of an aggressive tone of voice for this character. Mostly his voice will remain constantly the same. Maybe someone who sounds like they have a thick new york accent. (If your not able to do a new york accent don't let that dissuaded you from auditioning for this role)
(Introduction) I’m Kere Ellis-- That’s Keh-Reh-Ellis! My recent hobby is collecting nostalgic bullmark soft vinyl figures! Not those Re-releases, but the originals, mind you! Plus, I’m an alien!
(Firm/Yelling) Hey you! Baldy! That’s right! I’m talkin’ to you, skinhead! You don’t believe I’m an alien, do you?! I know what you’re thinking! Wow, these guys are freaks, and I’m so normal! Well, I call bullshit on that, Buddy! For I am a space alien, and my space alien senses reveal you are definitely the weirdest motherfucker here!
(Care-Free) Who’d a’ figure a funeral home would be so Labor Intensive, Eh? What’s the Hustle? I mean, they’re embalmed, right?

Bio:
A licensed embalmer who handles the corpses found by Karatsu and Numata. She studied her trade in America since embalmers are rare in Japan, where most bodies are cremated rather than buried. She has blonde hair and is very fashion conscious, never seen in the same outfit (often Punk fashion), and also works with her skills on part-time jobs, for example on an American military base.
What I’m Looking for:
I’m looking for a medium to high range for this role. Looking for someone who sounds like Misa Amane From Death Note.
(Disgusted) Why are we even here? If it’s like a dead rat or something, I’m going to be really mad.
(Informative) The air force has to fly them out, uh-huh? That’s how they came to handle the mortuary work for all the U.S. Armed Services. Anyway, I’ve got my american license, so i thought, hey, why not, y’know?
