Akira is a very energetic and approachable person but sometimes clumsy, sometimes even not being able to achieve tasks properly. He also likes cute things and is seen constantly talking selfies to commemorate what he feels and currently doing. Akira is very fragile and gets grossed out and scared easily to the sight of insect and other dirty things and when in danger. However, despite these weaknesses, Akira can be seen as a reliable friend, willing to overcome his fears just to save his friends.

While seeming emotionless at first, Kon does her best to please her superior lady, Inari, who she perceives as a mother. She gets extremely mad at those who insult Inari.

She is not very intelligent or emotionally stable. Because she wants to be a "good girl" more than anything else, she will do anything to fulfill that role. If anything happens that she believes will prevent her from fulfilling that role, she becomes disoriented and goes into a blind rage.

Nobimaru is a kitsune who disguises himself to look younger than he actually is as he considers there to be more advantages to being cute.

Shiki initially comes off as a bully, holding his age of one year over Kabane's head as an authority, and telling the other boy they aren't friends because they're both hybrids. But this is shown to only be a facade, as he shows surprise at Kabane never having had pizza, and laughing when the other first had trouble trying it. But as Akira says, he's only self-conscious due to the fact another hybrid sits under the same roof as him.

When on a job, he can see things in a calm and cautious manner. He is also able to judge and react to things in a fast manner, like using his thread to protect him and Akira from Kon's attacks. However, he can also be seen with a short temper. When faced with intimidating enemies, he has the tendency to freeze up but always manages to defeat his enemy.

Mihai is a callous and self-centered individual who considers the people around him to be toys for his amusement. He is willing to lie and manipulate others into perilous situations for his own entertainment. He does not seem to be able to understand how other people react to the result of his actions. Even Inugami considered Mihai to be potentially dangerous and volatile when he is in a bad mood[4]. However, he is not actively malicious and is willing to offer assistance as long as he finds the situation interesting[2].

On the outside, she portrays herself as a pleasant and hospitable lady. She uses this as a form of manipulation to rope others into trusting her. She is manipulative and sadistic, even using Kon as a servant after muddying her memories.[1]

She doesn’t care for others’ well-being and essentially views everyone around her as a disposable asset. Selfish and cruel, Inari uses her illusions to control the police department and uses the bewitching calculus to turn the police force into her puppets. Inari desires power and control, which is why she’s after Kabane’s Lifestone and other calculi scattered across Japan.

Inari can tolerate it if a mission ends up in failure, but betrayal is never allowed. She will throw away anyone that no longer fits her agenda. If something doesn’t go according to her plans, she quickly turns hostile. She takes her displeasure out on others and doesn't hesitate to resort to killing just to cool down her anger.[2]

The Mother of Shiki and Aya

Akio presented himself as a polite, amicable and proper adult and parental figure to Shiki when first introduced. In truth, this is a facade, Akio was in fact a manipulative, self-serving, greedy, and highly ambitious person with absolutely no morals, willing to exploit Kemono powers for his self-benefit, convincing Kumi of partaking in inhuman experiments with the intention of producing golden silk, all under the pretense of giving her and Shiki a means of self-sustenance having her go through a torturous experience in order to create a hybrid capable to producing it.

Akio feels not the remote sense of remorse or guilt for his deeds, and in fact, relishes on what he had achieved thinking he made such a groundbreaking discovery that it would catapult him to unparalleled historical fame. He also lied to Shiki regarding his mother's condition and manipulated him into thinking he meant the best for both him and his mother. Calm and patient he kept avoiding the issue, whenever asked, knowing that Shiki would eventually give up on the matter.
