Project Summary
Kate in the Dark is a first-person, narrative-driven survival horror game. The story follows Kate Corrigan, a financially desperate and sidelined ex-cop who takes a dubious "retrieval" job from a shady scintist.
Important: This is a NON-PAID, VOLUNTARY PROJECT.
We are a small, passionate team developing this game out of a love for the genre. The final game will be released completely FREE for everyone to enjoy. We are looking for talented voice actors who are excited to be part of a compelling horror story and are willing to contribute their skills to help bring these characters to life. All contributors will, of course, receive full and prominent credit in the game and any promotional materials.
The game is currently 80% through development. This means there will be a waiting period between casting and receiving the final, full script for recording. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
- Please use a high-quality microphone. Submissions should be clear, with no background noise, clipping, or echo.
- Please submit your lines as a single .MP3 or .WAV file.
- A Discord account is highly preferred for communication, as this will be our primary method for coordinating and sharing scripts. Please include your Discord ID with your submission if possible.

Role: Lead / Protagonist (Player Character)
Age: Late 20s
Voice: Mid-to-low range, General Pacific Northwest accent. (Accent is a plus, but not a dealbreaker)
Description: Kate is a former police officer, sidelined after a traumatic incident on the job that left her with a tarnished reputation. She is pragmatic, stubborn, and deeply cynical. Broke and desperate, a survivor, resourceful and tough. We need to feel her exhaustion, her terror, and her sheer, gritty determination.

Role: Antagonist / Quest Giver
Age: 60s
Voice: Mid-to-low pitched.
Description: Dr. Server is a brilliant, arrogant, and deeply unethical scientist. He sees people as tools, variables, or acceptable losses in the pursuit of his research. He speaks with a clinical, almost reptilian precision. He is utterly convinced of his own genius and has zero empathy for anyone else caught in his web. He is the man who sends Kate into the dark, and he does so without a shred of remorse.
(Losing himself in thoughts) "Progress has always been written in blood. From the aqueducts of Rome to the Manhattan Project. This is no different. It is simply... the next, more elegant, sentence."
(Cold, Veiled Threat) "Your payment is contingent on success, Ms. Corrigan. But more importantly, your continued well-being is contingent on discretion. Do we have an understanding?"
(Admiring his 'Creations' - low voice) "Hush now… They call it 'playing God.' How utterly small minded."
