Kanon (A Minecraft Movie)

Project Overview

his Minecraft Machinima is based on the 1999 visual novel "Kanon" by Key/Visual Arts.

This movie takes elements from all three adaptations (VN, 2002 anime, and 2006 anime), but mainly the 2002 anime as it has 13 episodes compared to the 24 episodes the 2006 one has.

STORY:

It’s been 7 years since Yuuichi Aizawa visited his aunt Akiko, but now that his parents have gone overseas to pursue their careers, he is finally back in the little northern town. Yuuichi is not really overjoyed with the prospect of living here though, because all of his memories of this place and the people living in it have mysteriously vanished. His cute cousin Nayuki seems like a stranger as well, even though he used to play with her all the time when they were younger On the day of moving into his new home, Yuuichi starts unpacking the boxes and stumbles upon a red headband that no one seems to recognize. This is one of the first clues that will make Yuuichi take a stroll through the snow-covered town and make him start recalling fragments of his past, broken promises, and buried secrets. Yuuichi soon realizes that there is something supernatural going on, and all of his new female acquaintances seem to have links to his forgotten past.

TRIGGER WARNING:

There are mentions of thoughts of suicide. Though it is only mentioned once, I thought I should put this warning up.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Decent Quality Microphone: I don't expect the best quality since this is a Minecraft film, but please make sure you have little to no background noise. PLEASE No phone mics, laptop mics, or headset mics.

  2. Get Lines in by the Deadlines: I know this isn't paid and is essentially a fan project, but if you audition, you understand that you are committed by some degree to this project. If you can't get lines in on time for any reason, please let me know! I will work something out with you.

  3. Be Prepared for Recording Sessions: There might be a few of you whom I will ask to get on a call and be there when you record. This is an emotion-heavy movie, and we need to make sure the emotion is there!

  4. Communication: We will be communicating through Discord, so please make sure you have an account. It's free (And good to have for other projects). And adding on to the previous rule: Please communicate with me! If you have to drop out or (like mentioned before) can't get lines in on time, I will most likely understand since I have been in those situations myself.

  5. Respect: You respect me, I respect you. This goes for everyone else in the project and should go for anyone else you work with. Treat everyone with respect. No slurs, blackmail, harassment, or any other form of disrespect. If I hear about anything of the sort happening, I will remove you from the project immediately, and warn others. We will keep the project positive!

  6. Have Fun: I want everyone to have a good time on the project! Hopefully, most of you will gain some experience!

FEMALE - Medium-High Voice Tone

Ayu is a rather short, strange, energetic, and very mysterious girl who literally bumps into Yuuichi early in the story of Kanon. She is easily recognizable by her winged backpack, and her red hairband. Ayu is left-handed and loves to eat taiyaki. Ayu often takes out her frustration by using the word "uguu."

FEMALE - Motherly Medium to Low Pitched Voice Tone.

Akiko is Nayuki's mother and Yuuichi Aizawa's aunt whose main role is in Nayuki's arc. Akiko is a kind and caring person. She is a great cook, and is proud of her special and unique jam, which no one likes. It's unknown if she has tasted it or if she likes it. She tends to answer yes and no very quickly, usually in one second.
