Junji Ito’s “The Devil’s Logic” Manga Dubbing
Project Overview
This project is dubbing over Junji Ito’s short story, “The Devil’s Logic” which if you don’t know Junji Ito, just know, these sort of stories are for mature audiences only. I strongly advise for 16+ only as this story covers sensitive and mature topics such as suicide.
Im looking for voice actors who can portray pure fear, and deceive in their voice.
This story is very short, and is meant to be a short story and analysis of this twisted tale. If you want to read it, since it is only a couple pages it is free to read here.

Lead role: Morioka
Protagonist, a young man in high school. He is shown to be friends with Morimoto and is the one who places the recorder in her bag.
He is the one with the most lines, as we read his internal monologue while he listens over the conversations Morimoto had that led to her death.
He is a sneaky teenager, who is shown that curiosity gets the better of him.
Near the end, he begins to show genuine fear, as he hears the last conversation Morimoto has before her death.

What? Morimoto?! What’s going on?!
She was terrifyingly persuasive, something more than human.
The god of death! This woman has to be the god of death! *genuine fear*
Lead role: Kazumi Morimoto
The girl who dies in the beginning, by jumping off the schools roof. We then read and are shown what happened to her before her demise, thanks to audio recordings Morioka placed in her bag.
She has a young, innocent voice. You will need to be loud in this manga dubbing, as she yells in some parts of the story. So be aware.

Let go of me! … I said, let go!
Side role: Kumagaya
Mysterious woman, little to no info about her.
She is the one to have Morimoto’s last conversation with, as she explains how the “logic of death” which makes Morimoto commit.
She is a tall woman, with bushy hair and the same school uniform as Morimoto and Okamori. She needs to have a persuasive voice, and no shame in convincing Morimoto to commit.

I’m sure you’ll choose death, too, Morimoto. And I’m going to film it.
Don’t you feel like dying?
Side role: Matsuda
The classmate Morimoto is in love with. He has only a couple of lines as he plans a date with Morimoto.
A young male, with a sort of overconfident voice, as he speaks about the date and how he would pick her up on his motorcycle.

I’ll come pick you at on my motorcycle. That’s cool, yeah?
Okay, see you tomorrow at ten.
Side role: Ms. Yokoi
A teacher, who at first seems to attempt to stop Morimoto before she does what she does. But is soon later found out to be connected to everything, and advocates for her death. She’s twisted, and evil.
A teacher, and older woman. She at first comes across worried for her student, but at the end, it is revealed she is tied to this whole mystery, and is revealed to be “death’s advocate”

MORIMOTO!! *in fear, attempting to stop Morimoto from jumping.*
Morimoto! What are you waiting for?
Go on and jump. Theres nothing to be scared of. Everyone in the world will be dead soon.
Background voice actors, I am looking for young teenage like voices as this is a school setting. The other students react shockingly the Morimoto’s death, and even include comments on what is happening at the scene.
