Introduction: In a near-future city, YomeTech has released to the public their masterpiece: the Juliets. According to the manual, every android is specifically designed to be a man's bride. But with the company's top-ranked bridedroid beginning to question the life she's made to accept, could it be their worst mistake instead?
Founder's note: Salutations! I'm Verona, JSyn's solo founder. I handle the funding, writing, programming, audio editing, and merchandise production (art prints, acrylic stands and more!). Funnily enough, this began because younger-me wasn't thrilled about reading Shakespeare in class. I thought, why not a twisted take on the classic? And now, here we are.
Important: Even if the project's artstyle is reminiscent of Panty & Stocking, it tackles mature themes such as abuse. Also, the characters listed in this casting call are my top priority in finding a voice actor for.

General requirements: Strictly 18 and up. Clean recording, no background noise to make editing easier. If casted, you will receive access to files with exclusive lore, worldbuilding and character details that can help guide your performance. Kindly keep this information confidential.
Bridedroid requirements (excluding commercial Juliet): Not looking for anything robotic. Avoid the "elegant, poised girl", the "ara-ara voice" and overly high-pitched acts as well.
Antagonist requirements: Not looking for a deep, booming voice. A wide emotional range is preferable.
Miscellaneous details: Not required. You may add things (laughter, gasps or additional lines) to your audition if you feel they capture the character well.

Guided by conviction and spite, Lexi carries a quiet resilience that allows her to persevere even against all odds. Best described as someone stuck in her own world, but the lucky few she does let in mean everything to her.
Traits: observant, persistent, impulsive, cynical (to an extent)

Low to medium. Often sounds detached or unimpressed. But not fullblown emotionless; she still sounds expressive. I imagine she has a slight/faint rasp to her voice. Also, there’s warmth when speaking to or about people she cares for. Her voice softens around those close to her, revealing a hidden vulnerable side.
"Ugh. I knew I should’ve stayed in my sleeping pod." (exhausted, neutral)
"If you break into song, I’m swan diving off this balcony." (annoyed)
"What if… the last thing she believed was that I only cared because I couldn’t let her go?" (regretful, solemn)

Character description
Often seen with The Doctor and his bot assistant Metatron. Has two distinct pupils in the shape of broken hearts, is known to be the only bridedroid with them. Prefers her own company, but isn't rude or hostile towards others. Hides who she truly is; no one quite knows about her.
Traits: independent, cool-headed, self-protective, distant
Voice direction (optional, suggestion)
Low to medium. Smooth with a slight husk or depth. Sounds cool and relaxed, but doesn’t drag her vowels. May sound breathy as well. No significant rasp in her voice. However, if there is, I would say it’s less noticeable compared to Lexi. This character is known for her outbursts, so being able to handle a wide range of emotions is appreciated.
"I don’t really do the whole ‘talk about my feelings’ thing." (neutral, somewhat amused)
"Hey, it’s okay. You can hold my hand." (soft)

One of the favored brides, but isn't on top yet. Often smiles and giggles, also likes to hum or break into song out of nowhere. Dedicates her time to being the best wife she can be for a man even if deep down, she actually feels upset about that. She doesn't understand why, though. Stereotyped as a 'dumb blonde' because she acts a little ditzy. Also a hopeless romantic.
Traits: outgoing, stubborn, bubbly, easily flustered

Medium to high. Looking for a warm, expressive, and naturally friendly-sounding voice. While she can be outgoing and playful, she also has a sincere, softer spot that shines through during emotional moments.

"Aw, come on! One bad day doesn't mean we have to waste the whole weekend." (pouty, expectant)

The daydreamy, sleepy bridedroid who has her head in the clouds. Carefree no matter where she is and what she’s doing. Easily distracted, has a hard time emoting with her face. Looks like she doesn’t know what’s going on half the time because of her empty (but well-meaning) smile. Always one second away from shutting down, for some reason.
Traits: laid-back, considerate, devoted, friendly
Voice inspiration: Genshin Impact's Qiqi, Dungeon Meshi's Falin Touden or a slightly blanker version of My Little Pony's Fluttershy?

Medium to light/high. Has an air of absentmindedness. Can come off as mellow, awkward and even blank at times. She sounds like she’s figuring things out as she says them. Not shy; just a girl who prefers to listen and will only ramble if it’s a topic she’s passionate about.
"My ID number's too long. You can just call me Mae... no, not the month. I get that a lot." (introduction)
"Mmm... beds. Beds are nice and cozy and warm. I like beds." (sleepy, wistful)
"Oh, I saw that in the How to Talk to Humans handbook. I read it twenty-three times." (clueless, friendly)

Character description
Another Juliet who isn't bride material. Seems mean-spirited at a glance, but she's just blunt and can be rather short-tempered. It doesn't help that she tends to have an RBF (resting b*tch face). Hates socializing and would rather be in her station all day. Doesn't have ill intent towards others as long as they don't frustrate her. Attitude aside, she's straight-to-the-point and fulfills her duties.
Traits: sarcastic, ambitious, competent, practical

Medium to low. Said to have a pretty voice despite sounding deadpan or bored. Speaks clearly. Usually shows little to no emotion other than exasperation and snarky teasing. Her delivery sounds natural, with very little theatricality. If it helps, she has hidden tsundere tendencies.
"Fantastic. Another crisis. I was worried today was going too well." (deadpan, sarcastic)
"Look at you. Happy manufacturing day or whatever." (amused, teasing)
"They want *me* for the commercial? Ha. Watch their sales tank." (dry)

Character description
Unpredictable and eccentric, even for a bridedroid. You never quite know which side of her you're gonna get. Her personality seems to be all over the place, as if she doesn't know who she's supposed to be. Sometimes she's bossy and a fussy stickler for the rules. Other times, she's forgetful and clueless. One consistent thing about her is her competitive streak. Enjoys friendly rivalries with other bridedroids, or anyone really. The most curious about humans.
Traits: expressive, bratty, anxious, overall a mixed bag

Medium to high. As usual, looking for a natural delivery, but she is one of the more emotive/expressive bridedroids. Prone to anxiety attacks, especially when it comes to "the code" or their programming.
"Hiya! I'm Blythe, one of the bridedroids who'll be joining you on your tour today." (friendly, greeting)
"A Juliet... in love with another Juliet...? N-No way, that's against our code! We can't do that!" (jumpy, flustered and panicked)
"Heyyy. I'm not *that* short. R-Right? I can't be." (pouty, then turns nervous)

Character description
A mischievous flirt of a bridedroid. The catch? She only ever flirts with women, especially her fellow Juliets. She refuses to do the same around men. No matter how many times they attempt to overwrite the error, she's still, at her core, "broken." When she's not being a daredevil, she likes to collect little things that humans own. Such as buttons, letters, and accessories like ribbons and neckties. She has them stocked in her station.
Traits: bold, rebellious, playful, cunning

Medium to semi-high, but I wouldn't mind low either. Speaks with a rasp, either slight or more noticeable. Enjoys teasing others and often sounds playful, but must also be capable of genuine vulnerability. Strong expressive acting is preferred over a stereotypical "seductive" performance. Honestly, she's more so tomboyish than feminine.
"End of the line, big guy. Hand over our girl, and we'll spare you." (smug)
"Keep up! We're never gonna make it to the orientation at this rate... and who knows what crap they'll pull on us?" (in a hurry, frustrated)

Character description
A thorn in The Doctor's side, infamously tried to stage a rebellion against him. A lazy walking disaster, far from bride material (except her cooking, she's pretty good). However, she means well. Generally a casual girl who enjoys goofing around or doing nothing. Fails to notice the severity of her actions and the consequences that'd follow. Her recklessness led her to the repair station one too many times.
Traits: goofy, optimistic, oblivious, determined
Voice direction (optional, suggestion)
Medium to somewhat high, but not too high. Sounds the most like an MC; as in, you’d mistake her for the protagonist. Vibrant, expressive, maybe a little dorky and warm. Talks fast and out of breath when she's excited. If I had to pull some character inspirations for her voice: it’d be The Owl House’s Luz Noceda, My Hero Academia’s Ochaco Uraraka, Genshin Impact’s Barbara - old voice, pre-update 1.3.
"Okay, in my defense... I sorta thought that was going to work. Honest!" (disappointed)
"*squeals* You're really, really here! Alexandria- nonono, Lexi, I am your biggest fan. Get this, I made you a shrine! So, so, when are you gonna be 'Belle of the Ball' again?" (excited, talkative)

Character description
Name undisclosed for spoiler reasons. A respected scientist and the founder of Project Juliet, The Doctor presents himself as a gentleman in public. Yet beneath that, his intelligence is outmatched by an obsession with viewing women as dolls to be shaped and owned.
Traits: entitled, charismatic, manipulative, goal-oriented
Disclaimer: The Doctor’s characterization revolves around misogyny and control. His role includes some dialogue that people may find disturbing, but no slurs are used. Regardless, please only audition if you’re comfortable portraying this archetype.
Voice direction (optional, suggestion)
Medium range. Although I imagine our resident Romeo can lower his voice, I never envisioned him with a “deep, booming voice.” Crisp diction. Slightly forward-placed resonance. Tends to speak with smugness rather than overt menace. Also, he's meant to sound attractive.
Given his personality takes a complete 180 in private, I envision him with three types of voices/vocal performances. In public, he sounds like the prince charming you can read about in fairy tales (but with a touch of smug nonchalance and condescension), which makes the public swoon over him.
Behind closed doors, his voice flattens. Depending on the situation, it can also turn more sinister. And once something sets him off at last, he sounds especially intense.
"*chuckle* Just a minor setback, not to worry. I assure you, my Juliets are in good hands." (amused but reassuring)
"That wasn’t a request. That was an order. Get to work." (neutral, dismissive)
"You ungrateful little— why do you girls have to make things more difficult than they need to be?!" (angered)

Side character. Outspoken, doesn't filter what he says. Lexi's assigned handler who struggles to keep her out of trouble. A technician known for gossip, but surprisingly excels at his job. Beyond exhausted with Lexi's shenanigans and convoluted love life. Never takes off his LED visor, which he uses like an accessory atop his head rather than its intended purpose.
Traits: snarky, quick-witted, flirty, an annoying nagger... towards Lexi

Medium to slightly low. Tends to sound dry and casual, but his pitch rises when he's baffled, flustered or busy scolding Lexi.
"Lexi, honey, that... is a terrible idea! Matter of fact, I’ll be there to escort you on a stretcher." (dry, playfully mocking)
"Psh. Forget the protocol. He’s dumb, you’re nuts and I’m in need of a man. Let’s go clubbing." (casual)
