JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable (EP 1 TSC English Fandub)

Project Overview

Hello Everyone. My name is The Space Crab. I am a director, actor, and editor with a group by the name of Dubmash Cangrejo. Two years ago we did a fandub of the first episode of an anime called Kill La Kill and it went relatively well. We wanted to dub the entire series... Unfortunately I ran into many complications at the time that prevented me from completing anything past the first episode. But times have changed and so have I. I've become a better actor with training and a better director and editor through experience I would like to dub this entire part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. But I need your help! I have been casting in other places and have voices for some of the characters, but I still need a few more!
In the explainer video will be a link to our first fan dub of Kill La Kill.

**URGENT**
For the sake of everything that is good and right. This may not be professional, but we do take things seriously. Do not troll or audition with poor mic quality. We want the best and nothing but the best!
If your performance, voice, and microphone are great your chances of being a part of this is high. Perform well! Bring the character to life! Actually act! No half assed work here, folks! There will be lot's of yelling and belting. So prepare yourselves. Also know that I am casting on other websites.
If you are cast, I'm gonna need some way to contact you. Preferably through Skype. But an Email will suffice. Please be active and do not ignore us or we will recast. If you wanna be a part of this, act like it. It's just that simple. I will be casting understudies as well. If you have any questions or concerns, speak up. Have fun and read carefully!  Let's heat it up, folks.

Very laid back, fun loving, and rich deep voice. He is an old man. So try to sound like one.
Think Mark Stoddard or Richard Epcar in regards to how I'd like this character to sound.

Ryohei is shown as having a humorous personality, even threatening Josuke with a fake gun as a form of joke and ignoring a report to him due to the accused being his daughter. However, he was genuinely dedicated to protecting the public, something that Josuke admired about him.

  • That woman there is my daughter. Now, you've caused trouble for others, and you called my daughter a bitch. But I'll let it go, this time. But be more careful in the future.

  • Oh...! Are you okay, Old lady Murakami? Come on. Take your bag.

  • Hey! Tomoko! Are you heading home? Let's go home together.

These are additional characters. The voices should be pretty self descriptive. If you need help, ask me.

  • (Male bullies) So your name is Josuke, huh? That means we're gonna call you Jo Jo! Now give us your clothes!

  • (School girls) Josuke! How are you? Your hair looks great today!

  • (Young adult male) Wow! Lady you're VERY PRETTY! Wanna come home with me?

Be quick about pronouncing that last name. Let it roll off the tongue.

A fairly mid-range, mature sounding voice. Being able to shift from huge aggression and having a tough sound to being cool calm and collected is a must. Think of Jamie Marchi or Michelle Ruff as a comparison.

A single mother and teacher, Tomoko is known to show a strong temperament, disliking it when guys try to hit on her (as she still loves Joseph) and being annoyed easily. She also seems to be mildly perceptive, noticing that the seal on her milk that Angelo had given her was broken. Despite her sharp temperament, she is actually a kind person particularly to her family and friends.

When Jotaro visits looking for Josuke, she breaks into tears and hugs him, confusing him for Joseph; with whom she appears to remain in love. It is not known whether she knew he was married during their romance. She loves her family dearly, as evidenced by the close relationship she has with her son and had with her late father. She can also be strict with Josuke, as she froze his account when she found out he earned 1.33 million from a shared 5 million with Okuyasu and Shigeki, understanding that Josuke would spend it all if she didn't and saving it for his college funds.

She is fond of a particular sponge cake from Kamakura.

When afraid, Tomoko tends to swallow her own saliva.

  • (Aggressive) Go to hell, loser!

  • That idiot can seem calm, but then get pissed out of nowhere. I wonder who he took after...

  • (Sincere) Deep down in the bottom of his heart, he's kind. So there's no need to worry about him.

A rich deep commanding, yet soft voice is what I'm looking for in regards to this characters voice. Think Troy Baker or Doug Erholtz at their lower range as a comparison.

*Copied from the JoJo Wiki*

Jotaro is introduced as a rough delinquent, but he has a gentle heart, and is loyal to those he likes. He is highly perceptive, intelligent and quick-witted while keeping a perpetually cool, slightly neutral or disinterested attitude.

Jotaro's most noticeable trait is his seemingly aloof nature. He is a quiet individual, often satisfied with expressing himself in short phrases. Araki has explained that he thinks anyone can tell his emotions just by looking at him, and probably thinks further effort in portraying how he feels to be a waste of time, making others tend to perceive Jotaro as callous.

Jotaro is an extremely cool individual, able to keep his composure in even the direst situations. The best example of his coolness would be against Daniel J. D'Arby, playing a dangerous game of poker during which he successfully bluffs the expert poker player into folding even if he didn't know what cards he had and wagered the souls of every companion and ally involved. Still, he is still mildly anxious when something unanticipated happens, but almost never goes as far as to lose his cool.

Moreover, Jotaro is blunt and foul-mouthed, having no problem being insolent toward his mother or any authority figure. The teenager favors witty one-liners, often ridiculing whoever is the target of his quips and offering absurd reasons for his feats, notably defeating DIO because he pissed him off. Whether Jotaro does take himself seriously or is just having fun when using his one-liners is left unanswered.

Jotaro is interested in a large range of subjects, such as sumo or the TV series Columbo, from which he claims to have acquired his deductive skills. Several hobbies indicate that he has an intellectual side, which would result in him becoming a marine biologist.

Jotaro is annoyed by the numerous adoring girls chasing him (both at his school and throughout his journey), whom he ignores or rudely drives away; particularly when they begin to fuss or bicker. However, he is hinted to have a soft spot (or is at least more tolerant) of children. When Anne accompanies them on his journey, he never yells at her and even protects her from enemy Stand Users, and also watches over her in a similar fashion to an older brother. When he takes an ice pop from a young boy, he tells the boy that he will buy him a new one.

Another interesting personality quirk of his seems to be an attachment to his clothing. when the female nurse at his school suggested cutting off parts of his pants, he refused. When his clothes were ripped from his fight with ZZ, he went so far as to pay for a uniform exactly like the one he had. When he first trades blows with DIO, he specifically points out how the fight tore a hole in his pants. He also has an attachment to his hat. This implies he is either stingy or has a particular sense of fashion; the fact that he pointed out the price of his pants after DIO tore a hole in it seems to imply the former.

  • (My name is Jotaro Kujo. I am your nephew, biologically speaking, I guess...

  • What a pain in the ass...

For this character, I'm looking for a very deep, villainous, and menacing voice. He speaks through his stand on occasion. His stand has a crazier and higher voice. Power to you if you can pull this off!
Looking for something along the lines of Kyle Hebert or maybe Jason Douglas.

Angelo is a notorious criminal having seemingly no standards, with some even saying that he is cursed to be an evil man, who doesn't care about other people's lives. While he agrees with everything said about him, he doesn't feel the need to change and continues engaging in his crimes. He doesn't take blame for his actions, at one point blaming Josuke for his grandfather's death when it was Angelo who killed him, saying Josuke didn't watch him so it was all his fault. Angelo is also depraved and pansexual, guilty of raping three young boys and planning to rape Tomoko Higashikata. He has a disgust towards people who he believes are cocky and enjoys seeing these people in agony.

He is highly intelligent, having an IQ of 160, which he demonstrated along with patience by waiting for it to rain before striking Jotaro and Josuke. He states when things go his way, he feels like laughing from the bottom of his heart. As such, he is virtually immoral, and enjoys committing as many murders as possible while not being caught from the law. When finally defeated, he demonstrates hypocrisy and cowardice, saying that Josuke didn't have the right to judge him when Angelo himself did the exact same things.

  • (Sinister) I know you well, Higashkita. After you finish your nightshift, you always enjoy a shot of brandy.

  • (Stand voice) Josuke Higashikata, this is all your fault! It's all your fault for not keeping your eyes on me.

  • *Maniacal laughter*
