Inuyasha Manga Dub [VIDEO EDITORS & AUDIO MIXERS needed!]

Project Overview

Requesting Video Editors & Audio Mixers for our weekly dub of the InuYasha Manga!

Production Information

Production credits are included at the end of each episode, and on our website.

Looking for Video Editors to edit together manga panel images & recorded voice lines. This honestly requires little to no experience, but it does take a while. Applying for this would mean, depending on your own efficiency, about 1-2 hours of work every week or so. This also depends on how many editors we have apply, more editors means less work for each person. If you are completely inexperienced (no video editing software) but are still interested in helping us, we use a free editing software, Hitfilm Express, and are always willing to teach those who want to help.

More urgently, we are looking for Audio Mixers to edit the tracks of completed chapters and mix their volumes together. There will be a separate track for each voice actor/character, and (generally) an ambience track, two sound effects tracks, and two music tracks. We are looking preferably for someone with audio mixing knowledge (how loud background music should be compared to voices and background ambience, etc.), and a schedule free enough to do, depending on your own efficiency, about 1-2 hours of work every week or so. This also depends on how many audio mixers we have apply, more editors means less work for each person.

We have a professional audio engineer who will train applicants on our method to ensure efficiency.

We ask that, for either role, you please have a schedule free enough to do one chapter's worth of work per week (about 1-2 hours). This will probably not be the actual amount of work you are asked to complete, it will most likely be less than that depending on how much you want to do, but if necessary it's important to have backup editors available. (And I feel that 1-2 hours a week is not too big of an ask, only being about 1.2% of your time ;]   )

Some Final Notes

As previously mentioned, our Discord Server is the place where we plan our chapters, deliver announcements, and distribute scripts (it's also been an incredibly useful tool for getting to know the people affiliated with the project and we've had a fair bit of fun with it). Because of the large amount of communication required between director and editor, a Discord account is required to apply for either role.

"In terms of money... We have no money." Our dub of InuYasha is a nonprofit passion project. The manga videos we publish do not and will not generate money, meaning we will not be able to compensate editing work with money. However, we all deeply enjoy our work on the project and assure you that you will too!

And that’s all! Maudelin, the director, is happy to answer any questions or concerns through Discord - otherwise have fun and good luck!
