Into The Strange - Echoes In Apartment 3B

Into The Strange - Echoes In Apartment 3B

Project Overview

Into The Strange is an original scripted audio series inspired by the eerie tone of The Twilight Zone and Black Mirror. Each episode explores unsettling tales of the uncanny, the forgotten, and the unreal, blending retro sci-fi, psychological horror, and poetic storytelling.

The pilot episode, “Echoes in Apartment 3B,” takes place in Brooklyn, 1954, during a stormy stretch of nights when reality begins to unravel for a reclusive radio technician named Sam Whitaker. After discovering a mysterious tape reel in his apartment, Sam begins hearing versions of himself warning him about something or someone approaching. As time slips and voices change, paranoia creeps in, culminating in a chilling twist of perception and consequence. This is a moody, slow-burn horror tale with textured dialogue, period authentic flavor, and psychological tension. We’re seeking voice actors who can bring emotional depth, subtle fear, and an ear for vintage rhythm and cadence. Think Rod Serling, Orson Welles, and the haunted vulnerability of post-war America.

(We believe in honoring the craft of real performance. No AI-generated voices are used in this production, and we will never use AI to replicate, alter, or replace the voices of our actors. Every voice you hear is going to be performed by a living actor who has given their time, talent, and spirit to each story. Their work is protected, respected, and celebrated here.) -Into The Strange Team

A veteran of a war. Sam's past has left him broken in ways he can’t articulate. He doesn't talk about the war, but his anxiety and reclusiveness are clear indicators. Before the war, Sam was likely a more idealistic or outgoing person, but now, his life feels as faded and abandoned as the tapes and radios he keeps tinkering with.

Paranoid, sharp, calculating. (New york Accent or Mid Atlantic)

  • March 7th, 1954: heavy rain tonight. Picked up some interference on the shortwave, probably just some garbage from Jersey. Still, there’s something odd about the way it faded. Like a breath.

  • Y-yes, thank you. I’ve been pretty avid in the subject since my days in the service.

  • I’m telling you!! It lied! It lied! It told me! It told me about March 9th! It told me about March 9th!!

  • All right, I’m taking your word for it, soldier. Go ahead, play it.

  • Look at this place, it’s a damned spider’s web of tapes!
