Indiana Jones and the Garden of Life
Project Overview
Following the release in 1984 of "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" Chris Columbus, writer of "The Goonies" and "Gremlins" and director of "Home Alone", "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York" as well as the first two Harry Potter films, was tasked with writing the screenplay for the third Indiana Jones film. Around 1985, he completed this task, however soon after he was dropped from the picture and his entire plot was swapped for the Holy Grail and the third Indy film became "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade." Columbus' draft, Indiana Jones and the Monkey King, or Indiana Jones and the Garden of Life, never saw the light of day. That is until now.
This project is crafting Chris Columbus' draft of his version of Indy III into a radio drama. This will be no small feat, with a large voice cast. Collaboration is the main objective beside bringing this piece to life. The script was written for the screen, with characters written by 1985 standards. Your feedback, input, and ideas will be greatly respected and play a major factor in the project. Following it's completion, it will be uploaded to YouTube for mass enjoyment.

Brash, intelligent, daring, charming. Indiana Jones is the worlds most famous archaeologist. He's an academic and an adventurer. He's bold and heroic, but human. He's usually in over his head, but his intentions are usually selfless.

Two years. Nearly two years of my life...looking for the remains of that Monkey...a piece of his legendary Golden Hooped Rod...or some sign of the Lost City. (shakes his head) Nine men perished on the journey. Rest of us nearly died from starvation or one of the many horrible diseases we discovered... (looks back to papers, in a near whisper) We still came back empty handed.
Well, Clare... We've obviously got a lot of notes to compare... Let's get started tonight...over dinner. Friend of mine owns a Cafe... He'll get us a nice quiet table. No disturbances. Just the two of us --
Quick witted, intelligent, prim and proper, Dr. Clare Clarke is a zoologist. She plays foil to Indiana Jones and his often reckless behavior.

We were on a photographic expedition in the thick of the jungle. I heard sounds. Whimpering. Moaning. I took a few steps, and found Tyki. He was lying in a shallow swamp, semi conscious, a high fever, nearly dead from exhaustion. He had obviously been traveling on foot for many days, over countless miles. So I brought him back to the compound...nursed him back to health.
Doctor Jones, although your libido is questionable, your bravery and intelligence are exceptional. It has been an honor working with you.
(After instinctively kicking Indiana Jones in the face upon first meeting him) Dr. Jones! Forgive me. Thought I was being attacked by a degenerate sailor. Your appearance is deceiving.
Betsy Tuffet is a brash and tough 21 year old teacher's assistant from Brooklyn. Unfortunately for her, and Indy, she is completely head over heels in love with him. To the point, where she would, and will, do whatever it takes to be with him. WHATEVER. IT. TAKES. After she stows away on the ocean crossing venture, she finds herself now out of her element, battling for Indy's attention and love, and trying not to be killed by Nazi's.

Although elderly than most of Indiana Jones' companions, Scraggy bolsters the energy and vitality of a youth. A man of superstition and philosophy, Scraggy is a the best guide in Africa, and a true friend to Indiana Jones.

Marcus Brody is like a father to Indy. A voice of reason to the usually wild and uncontrollable Indiana Jones. He's calm, but stern. Caring and cautious, but knowledgable. Weighs heavily in risk vs reward.

This hairless brute is a Nazi Nightmare. He is all business and little emotion. He's taken a great interest in Indiana Jones on behalf the Nazi Party.

Kezure, the PIRATE KING. A bear of a man, he is covered in the purest gems of his looting. With gold teeth filling his mouth, and animal skins draped over his shoulder, it's clear it's more than his voice that boasts. He's smart, but he's still a pirate. He's out for only himself.

The plump and balding Inspector Macgowan, a friend of Indiana Jones, has found himself in a fearful situation. A ghost has murdered again. Perhaps nightmares are real. He is fearful, yet brave, specially because Indy is going along. A high pitch voice, but then again, this one is open for interpretation.
