Star Wars: In the Garden of the Sun Comic Dub
Project Overview
In the Garden of the Sun is a Kylux fancomic created by @thissisatitle on Tumblr.com. It takes place before the events of Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens, describing the meeting of Kylo Ren and General Armitage Hux. This project will be a fandub of said comic. It will be edited into a series split into multiple episodes and, since the comic is currently only on its second chapter and yet to be completed, it will span over a long period of time. I will need committed actors and actresses that will be willing to stick with this project till the end. All the information on the project and what characters are available can be found here.

Character Description:
- The fierce General of The First Order from Star Wars: The Force Awakens
- Armitage Hux was abused physically and mentally by his father, Brendol Hux, and because of this, he desperately wants to prove he is not weak and can live up to the legacy set by his father in the Order.
- Armitage is approximately 25-30 years old in this comic, so you need to sound mature. No one under 16 can audition for this role.
- General Armitage Hux is the main character of this comic and is featured in almost every panel of the comic, SO YOU MUST BE COMMITTED.
“And I assure you, I will fulfill my duties to the Order without fail. I will do what I can to ensure our success, Supreme Leader.”
“I, General Hux of the First Order’s army welcome you aboard the Resurgent-class battlecruiser, The Finalizer. May our future collaboration lead the Order to victory.”
*angry* “Your presence was expected at this assembly! It was an important strategic mission, as co-commander, it is your responsibility to attend!”
- Son of Princess Leia Organa and Han Solo
Male or female voice could work, since this is a child's voice
Ben is approximately 10 in this comic, I would guess, so you’ll need to sound prepubescent.
Is prominently featured in the prologue, and possible future flashbacks, so NEED TO BE COMMITTED
*happy* “Hi! Why are you wearing your hood? My mom says it’s impolite to wear indoors. My name’s Ben! What’s yours?”
*apologetic* “Oh, I didn’t mean to offend you or anything! You have a really nice hair color, I would show it off if I were in your place! Be proud of it!”
*angry* “Don’t insult Chewie! He’s a really good and gentle person!”
Character Description:
- The cruel father of the fiendish General Armitage Hux from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
- He hates his son, since Armitage was born as a result of an affair he had with a peasant woman
- Age ranges from late 30s to late 40s
- Plays a big role only in the prologue so far. However, he could show up in flashbacks
“It doesn’t matter! He was just an uncivilized New Republic twerp. The product of a self-decadent government.”
“Louder! I can’t hear you, boy! Speak clearly or do not speak at all! Make a choice!”
“I, Commandant Brendol Hux, deem you unfitted to be an agent and take the decision to pull you out of our Provisionary Intelligence Gathering Network. Irrationality does not have a place in an Intelligence Officer’s career, and even less in a military organization. It is time for you to learn that, Armitage!”
Character Description:
- Grand Admiral Rae Sloane is the surrogate mother to General Armitage Hux. She defended him against his abusive father in his youth and gave him the confidence he needed to stand up for himself against the other children of the Empire. At the time of this comic, she is in her late 60s to mid 70s, so she will need to sound older. She only appears in a few pages of the first chapter of the comic, but she may return later.
“I’ve been leading our fleet for more than two decades, am I not allowed to brood on my recreational time for once?”
“Does your need for approval bury your critical thinking, Armitage? Or are you afraid of bad-mouthing him because you’re aware he took an interest in you?”
“We will probably have more information coming in from General Organa herself. Here...She probably barely finished mourning her political career and now...she has to grieve her son.”
- A Knight of Ren who follows loyally under the command of Kylo Ren.
- Is most likely 20+ years of age, so sound mature
- They only appear in Chapter 1 so far, but they may show up again later, same goes for the other Knights of Ren.
“I’ve heard this General has had no battle experience. Might explain why he’s so adamant about this project. Good thing the Supreme Leader is backing him, but for how long?”
*snarky* “So this is the planet that General Peacock wants to crack?”
“...A leader who has never led a charge is no leader at all. Master, you sure are patient with them.”
Another officer of the First Order alongside General Hux. She seems to be of equal rank, if not higher rank, as him, and is skeptical of the amount of trust they can place in the new recruit Kylo Ren. She also enjoys seeing the General fail.
“I’m still not convinced about its necessity. All the credits spent on it should be used to improve our lives in the colonies.”
“In short, Kylo Ren borrows your troops to deal with his problems, but doesn’t bother to lend you a hand on his side. Sounds like a wonderful ally, General.”
A First Order under the command of General Hux. She only appears in Chapter 1 so far, but she may show up again in the future.
“This is Sergeant Roha from the Army’s Human Resources Support Office. My apologies for bothering you during your time, sir. You requested a global review of all military operations since the Finalizer’s launch in prevision of your strategic meeting next cycle with the members of the Admiralty and the Council. However, PR has noted that some mission reports from commanding officers have not been filed.”
“Yes, sir!...Talk about wasting time.”
An officer of the First Order that appears to be the right hand of Minister Kayes. She too is skeptical of General Hux's Starkiller project, his faith in Kylo Ren, and his abilities as a leader.
“Still, we cannot afford to fund it without guarantees. Will it ever be operational one day?”
“High command has made it very clear, General. If you don’t find those kyber crystals before hitting the deadline we gave you, we will have no choice but to veto this ‘Starkiller’ project.”
Another officer of the First Order alongside General Hux. She is skeptical of his plans to create the massive Starkiller Base.
“Yes, yes, that is a good strategy.”
“However...How do we know that this, ‘Third Death Star’ won’t be another waste of resources?”
“The Death Star 3 is supposed to be a confidential project of the military, sending more men in would raise suspicions of the Council.”
A subordinate officer to General Hux, despite the latter being younger.
“General! Shouldn’t we seek Commander Kylo Ren’s aid first before taking any action?”
The iconic golden robot from the Star Wars series. He only makes a brief appearance in the beginning of the comic, but it is entirely possible he will show up in flashbacks again.
“Master Ben!”
“Yes, it is only me. Unfortunately, your mother had a sudden emergency.”

“This lack of care and discipline...Smells like the New Republic’s education. Typical!”
