Project Overview

(Sorry there's so little promotional material, the project has just completed it's writing stage and is now being filmed. Due to it's shortness, production will be short. Apply ASAP please!)

Set in 2001, I Forgive You is a social commentary/observation regarding the human psyche and the perceptive delicacies of it. It questions perception, right, wrong, and what that really is (or if it even exists). Commuting to work, a speeding Clarence Critchlow finds himself rapidly switching through stations before finding the right song, relaxing. Riling himself up, he gradually embarks on his semi-lengthy rant covering the new year and the changes he will make. Including confronting his boss about his opportunity-stealing colleague. When pondering recent events, the root of everything, the loss of his long-time girlfriend, he grows mute, dejected. Unfocused, he hits a man. Stopping promptly, staying put to further absorb the shock, Clarence sits. With his mind re-booting, Clarence evacuates the vehicle before spotting the critically-conditioned figure. After a melodramatic mental debate with himself, the now-killer occupies his vehicle before making his way to a local phone booth. Ready to summon emergency services, Clarence is caught off-guard; a "hello?" reveals another on the line already. With helpful words, Clarence is easily consoled, spilling his deepest, darkest thoughts, the voice continually consoling.  The phone-booth-bound conversation reveals secrets, heals wounds, and brings the darkness to the light.

Clarence is a neurotic, emotionally unbalanced, and business-driven middle-aged man who experiences life hard and often-times at his own hand. Clarence is dynamic, friendly, diplomatic, and often-times unintentionally self-directed. Clarence, being a contradiction, is stubborn, hard-hearted, and a doormat. Often saying yes before listening to the proposition in question, Clarence is a renowned pushover. However, after overthinking, a common occurrence of his, he can grow combative and spiteful toward his apparent aggressor. Clarence is strong-willed and highly motivated. Clarence, in the right state of mind, can be captivating, quite bubbly, nurturing, understanding, and playful; majorly soft and endearing. In his core, Clarence is extremely neurotic, prone to overthinking. Mentally, Clarence can often-times be a mess. When it comes to work and his passions, Clarence can be the perfect problem solver, however, when it comes to his own life, Clarence could use an organizer or two. With dual decision-making, Clarence can have arguments with his own self over what to do, juggling varying thoughts and opinions, finding it hard to settle, Clarence can act on all, having extremely unpredictable actions, impacting him negatively. Clarence's soft, kind demeanor can attract high numbers, and his ever-changing moods/actions can turn away even more.

  • [Replaying recent events, commenting. Passive aggressive] I have to go, right. Me? Because I only found you locking lips with him out of all people, decrepifying our relationship. I guess that makes sense. [Tone gradually progressing from aggression to heartache] I am the bad guy..for caring about this relationship--[almost murmuring] this relationship that I was the only one in. She never cared about you, Clarence. It's your fault. It's all your fucking fault.

  • [Reduced to child-like innocence and mannerisms, seeking order] I was speeding, yes, but to work, I had to set some things straight. I couldn't let Jack steal my business propositions and my promotion along with it. I had to speak to the board, [Light aggression] and hopefully that son-of-a-bitch too. 

  • No, I won't be silent. [Emotions trailing in different directions, sonder rising] I worked hard for that position. For years! The things I've done...[Murmuring] and--and you just give it to HIM!? Based on the propostions he stole from ME?! Yeah, I have something for all of you; Jack, that board--all of you!

The voice belongs to a man well into his mid-late 40's who has, in that small amount of time, lived life to it's fullest, being wise beyond his years, though achieved with a price; a life of bad decisions. His voice is rugged though very reassuring, deep but patient. Light eerie.
