If you are cast for a role we will need your email address to provide you the script and instructions. Please check back to this posting after the deadline for further details.

BUCK GRANGERFORD, fourteen year old boy from Kentucky. Generally good natured, inventive, kind. MILD KENTUCKY ACCENT.

  • (suspicious) Well, who are you? I thought you were dead and nekked.*Say something you think would fit*

  • (chuckles) Come on then! Ma’s breakfasts are the best! Probably because we got the best cogwork cook this side of the Mississip!

  • (proudly) My pa owns a cogworking manufacturing company. He lets me have extra parts – like if they make too many or stop using a model because they advance to another. He still makes some steam run cogworkings, but we are trying to get more folks over to tamkwarin.

MR. GRANGERFORD, forty-four year old man from Kentucky. Father to Buck, owner of local cogworking factory. Professional, pleasant, confident. MILD KENTUCKY ACCENT.

  • (chuckles) Really?

  • Buck has been working with me since he could talk. If he thinks to call you an inventor, he’s probably right. Perhaps you could show me your design sometime.

  • Who? (scoffs) What. For thirty years they’ve been trying to take our company down to nothing, and for thirty years we’ve resisted their incessant whining and pretentious mewling. They’ve tried everything from protests to lawsuits to assassination attempts, but they will not succeed. They did not triumph against my father, and they will not taste victory against me.

  • And what is so important? (pause) Brotherly love! It says in First Peter: add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. (pause)(fades out) Without love, what are we?

  • Have a blessed week! See you next Sunday.

  • (low voice) Could you be so kind as to do me a favor and check for a note inside the fourth Bible in the front row, right over there on the Shepherdson side?

  • (delighted) Oh, thank you, George!

  • (sighs) Nobody’s quite sure. They say that thirty years ago there was a cogman old Mr. Shepherdson and Grandpa Robert got into a fight over. Both claimed him as theirs and the cogman wouldn’t take sides.
