HOMESICK - Animatic
Project Overview
Hello! My girlfriend has a series she's been working on with her original characters- the story is called Homesick! I thought it would be a nice surprise for her if one of the scenes from her story had a fully voiced animatic, so here we are. I will be handling the art and everything else besides voices. Requirements

- Discord is a MUST! I need this to be able to communicate with you, share the lines with you, and even give you some direction if needed.
Context
Cricket, a tired, serious and overworked bartender, and Marluza, a ditzy but well-meaning waitress work at Roxy's Cafe. Eventually, a friendship fosters between the two, which gradually evolves into a relationship. Imago comes into the play as a regular customer, one who holds a particular grudge against Marluza's family. However, she isn't aware of this fact. Imago is charismatic and persistent, and knows how to keep a facade. He seems innocent, but holds malicious intentions underneath, with his secret identity as a serial killer. Cricket isn't fond of Imago, and feels like there's something wrong with him he just can't place. However, Marluza hasn't suspected Imago one bit.
Story of the Scene
Imago has finally made his move and tries to kill Marluza, however Cricket has intercepted the attack and gets hurt. Quickly, he tells Marluza to run, before fighting Imago to buy Marluza time and attempt to protect her. It all culminates with a triumphant Imago and a resigned Cricket striking a deal so that Marluza's life can be spared.

Cricket is a 22 year old bartender at Roxy's Cafe, possessing incredible strength but not really motivated to use it until somebody causes a ruckus at the bar. Being the oldest brother and tasked with taking care of his younger brother for most of their youth due to his neglectful parents, he's learned how to fend for himself and is willing to put in hard work to keep them afloat. He's straight-laced and to the point, but has a pretty bad temper. He doesn't like when people dance around topics or try and avoid answering things.
I'm looking for a moderately deep voice, and a serious tone. Try not to get too whimsical.
CONTEXT: Cricket has caught Imago and Marluza talking alone in an alleyway outside of the cafe, with Marluza looking scared and confused.
(Accusing, Suspicious) Hey! What exactly do you think you're doing?CONTEXT: Cricket has taken the blow for Marluza and is trying to fight back the pain, attempting to be strong.
(In agony, serious, desperate) I'm fine, don't worry about me! You need to go, NOW. I'll take care of this! (pause) What are you waiting for? MOVE!CONTEXT: Imago has offered to spare Cricket and Marluza's lives if Cricket leaves and becomes Imago's personal bodyguard. Cricket is faced with leaving his whole life behind to save the girl he loves. Cricket accepts.
(Dejected, defeated, contemplation with slight hesitation) So what you're saying is... if I do this, you won't hurt Marluza? She'll be safe.. right? (pause) Fine. I accept. (Transition to anger, threatening) But I swear to god, if you even try to lay a finger on her again, I'll kill you.
Imago is a 23 year old man who just so happens to be a serial killer. (Yikes.) After the suicide of his childhood best friend at the hands of a witch, he's bitter and holds a grudge against those who can wield the power of magic, going so far as to even kill them without a second thought. He's convinced himself he doesn't have emotions, but is great at faking them anyway. He appears to be kind, although a bit eccentric and nosey, asking questions and seeming a bit pushy to even the most tolerant of people. However, the other side of him is sinister and sadistic, someone who doesn't care about the hurt he inflicts on others.
Try to be slightly high-pitched but not too much, fancy and elaborate, but not snooty. A good example of the voice I want is Mamoru Miyano as Dazai Osamu from Bungou Stray Dogs.
CONTEXT: Imago is simply teasing Cricket, playing mind games.
(Smug, all-knowing) So? What if I was about to do something terrible to your beloved Marluza? What would you do, hm? Would you snap my neck out of blind rage, mutt? That anger in your eyes tells me everything.CONTEXT: Imago still plays by his facade, acting innocent to lure others into a false sense of security.
(Amiable, friendly, sweet) You're a really great person, do you know that? I'm happy I was able to be your friend, Marluza.CONTEXT: Imago is gloating in his victory, looking down on Cricket as his knife is pointed at Cricket's neck.
(Maniacal, prideful and bloodthirsty) Oh, I could slit your throat right now. Watch the blood run down your neck as the life slips from your eyes... But I won't. You're no use to me that way, it'd be a waste of a puppet.
Marluza is a 21 year old waitress at Roxy's Cafe. She is sweet and a bit oblivious, but generous and compassionate. She gets easily excitable about things and tries her best to help everybody get along. However, she is highly anxious when she gets something wrong and tends to blame herself for any mistake she makes. Confident in the best of people, she doesn't assume that any of her friends would backstab her. She is peppy, charming, and one of those people you instantly trust the second you meet her.
Go for a high-pitched voice, with a bit of skip in your step! Put yourself in the shoes of the most dedicated optimist.
CONTEXT: Conversing with Imago, who she isn't suspicious of, although she is getting a bit unnerved by how weird this alleyway is.
(Friendly) Oh, it's no trouble at all, there's no need to apologize! I always have time to talk with you, Imago!CONTEXT: She's staring at Cricket's wound, shaking her head and slowly processing the reality of the situation. That Imago is trying to kill her, that Cricket is bleeding, that she's helpless to stop this feud.
(Terrified, Sobbing) No, no, no! This can't be happening... This can't be happening, no... I- I don't want to... I don't... (crying and whimpering, followed by a distraught scream)CONTEXT: As she's running away, she thinks about what's unraveled before her eyes.
(Scared but determined) I promise... I promise- Cricket, I WILL come back for you!
