Homecoming Ghost
Project Overview
Hello, I'm Taney and I'm producing an audio play. It's an original story that takes place during a high school homecoming dance. The principal chaperoning the night catches some misbehaving students under his flashlight, but when he tracks them down, memories from his past are triggered. It turns out that the football team isn't the only thing coming home.
It's part horror story, part modern parable. I'd love to work with you!
INFO:
Radio play
About 10 minutes
Available characters: 2 main characters, male
Good recording equipment would be great - Something better than a built-in computer mic or phone is best. I personally use a shotgun mic and a dynamic mic (depending on setting), so it's important that the audio quality match up. It's usually pretty easy to borrow equipment, so please, keep this in mind when auditioning.
AUDITION:
Record in highest available audio quality - Unless specified otherwise, it will be assumed that this is what you would record your actual lines on if casted.
CHARACTERS: BOTH MAJOR
Name: Principal James Dalton
Age: 49
Bio: A strict principal in a suburban school, with a reputation for justice and a hidden dark past. Ordinarily a good-natured person, but puts on a stony facade when stressed (frequently).
Name: David Dalton
Age: 16
Bio: A High school sophomore, overshadowed by his siblings and relentlessly bullied by his peers. Resents his brother's attempts to "fix" him.
LANGUAGE: There may be both clean and original final versions. Swearing is at a bare minimum. If you cannot, it's ok.
Happy auditioning!

Voice type: Authoritative. There will also be lines from an 18 year old James Dalton, so those will be in a slightly different voice.
"Off the stage, Erin. (annoyed)
"Get out, you two! I can see you behind the bleachers."
(brokenly, with growing panic) No, no stop, please. I need you. Mom needs you. Just go inside, I’m in there! David! David!"
(18 yr old version, confidently, flirtatiously) "You missed me, Jess?"
Voice type: Calmly, with conviction. Think kid sociopath, but not as young and not as crazy.
(placatingly) "Look, I just need some fresh air. Just go back inside."
(sarcastically) "Interrupt the king on his big day? I don’t think so."
(calmly, with remorse) I'm sorry... but I'm not. (with growing confidence) You're all idiots, all of you. You can't see, you can never see. You're all blind! I'll give you something to look at! I'll give you something to look at!""
