Kaisa appears to be a young female adult witch who is known for being the keeper of the books at the Trolberg library. Kaisa is usually calm, but can be rather strict with rules. She has the uncanny ability to always know exactly what book people are looking for, even before they can ask her about it. She sometimes also has some feelings of insecurity about her abilities as a witch, believing she wasn't the witch she was trained to be, and to think she would dissapoint her teacher, Matilda Pilqvist (a.k.a Tildy). But with some help from Hilda, she along with Tildy proves that Kaisa never let Tildy down and she's happy to be her former mentor. Kaisa seems like a very calm and kind person who is content with most things, even if it means offering someone information, advice, or a task to handle and has a little sense of humor.

David is a young boy who tends to be quickly scared and easily distracted, as well as a bit clumsy. It often takes his friends' encouragement to get him over his fears. He has very little time for selfishness, laziness, and cruelty, especially after hanging around with Hilda and gaining more confidence in himself. He's also able to sing and he's pretty good at it. As time wnet on, David seemed to be a bit more confident, easy going and more behaved to not being a scaredy cat all the time, though his original personality occasionally resurfaces when he is faced with a scary situation.

The Flying Scotsman [Thomas & Friends]

Flying Scotsman is a polite and proud engine; however he can be pompous and somewhat smug, like his brother Gordon, the big express engine. Despite being friendly with Thomas and giving him a pep talk, he thought that no famous engines came from Sodor, and indicated that he viewed Sodor engines with low expectations. He later changed his mind after seeing the Sodor engines competing at the Great Railway Show, realising they were made of "sterner stuff" than he initially believed. Scotsman enjoys teasing Gordon, referring to him as his "little brother" to annoy him, using his catchphrase as his own, or bragging about being invited to the Great Railway Show. He does care for him though, as shown when Gordon was overheating during the race, and Scotsman urgently warned him to stop.

Emily is an emerald tender engine who lives and works on the Island of Sodor, and is the North Western Railway's number 12 engine. Emily is a kind, caring, helpful and intelligent engine, who speaks with a Scottish accent. She is sensitive to the feelings of others and is quick to apologise if she wrongs someone, whether knowingly or not. She will stand up for other engines if they are being teased or treated unfairly and is unafraid to speak her mind, even to authority figures. Emily often acts as a level-headed voice of reason, particularly when the other engines jump to conclusions or when a friend needs moral support. She is also a very competent, clever, adaptable and quick-thinking engine, and as such is often relied upon for advice, a trait which eventually led her to becoming the railway's official "safety engine".
