The Concept
HGS - Home Grown Slop, an idea born from being so tired of hearing and seeing AI story after AI story. I'm a romance novelist, have experience with YouTube scripts, and can render my own 3D visuals... so why don't I make my own?
Instead of slop, HGS makes good-for-you home grown romance stories. Fast-paced and dramatic, these stories are meant to be entertaining and gripping, while satisfying a sweet tooth for stories that are a little over the top, but that's their joy. Sincere in it's premise, this is not tongue-in-cheek look at the camera kind of drama, HGS commits to it's premises, even when they may sound over the top at first glance.
These projects combine still renders, motion graphics, and short animations to tell a story. It is not 100% animated, but chooses when to be animated to enhance the story. As such, voice acting is an important part of these tales.
And best of all? No AI. Always.
Episodes will be released in vertical format on tiktok and youtube shorts.
The Story
Our first story is a classic: A werewolf romance, with fated mates, a handsome Alpha, challenges and fights, and the weight of an entire pack's expectations. All the while two men contend with their secrets, and find a way to make their true love work.
On the night of The Selection, where wolves assemble to search for a mate, Ryder, the closeted pack Alpha, unexpectedly runs into the last thing he expects: his perfect soulmate. A man named Ever.
Selections happen every other year, and Ryder's been to three of them. Before meeting Ever, he was dedicated to a life of pretending to be straight, but there's no way he can deny that Ever is his perfect match. He can feel it in his soul.
Faced with the reality of having a mate, Ryder decides to publicly come out of the closet, much to the criticism of some members of his pack. How can he, an Alpha who is supposed to produce an heir, be mated to a man?
Little does anyone know, Ever is the rare, and rather looked down upon, Male Omega. He can give Ryder an heir... If he can muster up the courage to tell his mate his secret.
There are seven episodes in this series, with a goal release window of late 2026.
This is an MLM romance, with a large supporting cast. The project is not explicit, but actors must be comfortable with a PG-13+ level romance. The story does have a surprise male pregnancy plot line. People auditioning for Ever must be comfortable with this aspect of the story. The story ends before the pregnancy progresses too far, but it is a point of discussion and a central plot point.
Please do not apply if you're uncomfortable with any aspect of this story. We're looking to foster a queer positive, fun, and indulgent atmosphere with our stories.
The Logistics
First, please give it your all! Yes, the story is cheesy, but we want to take it sincerely. That is the charm in stories like these, no tongue-in-cheek humor here!
Must be 18+ to audition.
You are welcome to apply to more than one role.
All accents are able to apply for each character, the only character with a defined accent is Sanjay.
Please reduce noise/do basic clean up on your recordings, but all other editing will be done as the show is assembled (sound effects, music, etc.) I ask that all submitted recordings be professional and high quality.
Recordings will be submitted as .wavs via email, using whatever file transfer service you prefer. Please send in only your best take/s. Only send in takes you are comfortable ending up in the final product. 3 takes are included in the estimated time for each role.
Some re-dos may be required but will be limited.
Some roles will require some “efforts” to be recorded, fight sounds like ‘oof’, sighs, etc
There will be a show specific discord to coordinate some things, and to answer any questions you may have. It will also allow actors to collaborate, if they so choose. This information can be communicated via email as well, if you prefer.
75% of the total estimated cost for the work is paid upfront before recording, with the remaining amount due on completion, to ensure accurate payment for hours worked. Est. total hours are attached to each role, but subject to change.
All payments will be done via PayPal.
Please note rate is hourly and varies depending on the role. Estimates for hours are based on approximate role word count, including multiple takes, always rounded up to the next hour.
All roles are in English.
Actors will be credited on the show's website, and in the captions of videos posted to social media, provided character limits allow. If limits do not allow, we will be sure to credit you somewhere else.
