Hauling- GTA V Movie
Project Overview
Ollie Stokes is an experienced truck driver in San Andreas. He takes every day one step at a time, content with the simple lifestyle that comes with an occupation like his, despite getting on in years. Under new employment, he finds himself recollecting the days of his youth, over forty years ago.
Such events shaped him into what he is. But deep down, there is something he has been stifling.
The memories of the last few days with his best friend, Jake Flynn.
Hauling is my first attempt at making a GTA movie. Whereas most would make a short and simple action flick, I wanted to try something more risky and grand. The movie itself will be very dialogue-heavy, and with very little in terms of thrills. The focus won't be on the guns and high speeds of GTA, but will instead be focused on the characters, and how they interact with each other. It will also be a bit on the lengthy side, rather than short and sweet.
Yes, it's definitely not the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about a GTA film. But dialogue has always been a favorite of mine when it comes to movies, and there aren't nearly enough longer GTA movies out there, so I figured I'd try and do something new.
There are three characters open for auditions. Take note that all of them have plenty of dialogue. If talking a lot isn't your cup of tea, I understand completely. Lines for each character can either be given just by itself, or with the lines of the person they are talking with, whichever you prefer.
Edit (12/5)- Due to recent developments, the role of Ollie Stokes will be recast and open until Monday for anybody who is interested. As a reminder, Ollie has the most lines in the entire script, and should not be taken lightly.

Hauling Trailer
After a very long silence, filled with numerous problems on my end, the movie is nearly ready to be released! In the meantime, the trailer is now available on Youtube. You can view it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhPYvEVJ1-8
Ollie is the main protagonist of Hauling. He has a rather mellow demeanor, and is often calm with how he interacts with people, almost bordering on seclusive. Living most of your life as a trucker will do that to a man.
As the lead role of the film, older Ollie will have noticeably more lines. He is 65 years old, so some form of age will need to be heard, but not overdone. He needs to sound like he's seen a lot, but not like he's wheezing every single breath.
"The open road...is a finicky thing."
"We can’t all be that exciting."
"Sandy Shores may not be the liveliest of neighborhoods, but at least the lack of smog makes for some beautiful starry nights."
Ethan Taylor is the owner of a small LLC that handles trailer deliveries from the Port of Los Santos. The job itself isn't what he wanted to get into, but recent events have forced him to take up the business and keep it afloat.
As Ollie's boss, he is eager to talk about anything to get through the workday. He is a bit of a crude joker, although he might not even mean half the stuff he says. Ultimately he's willing to hear Ollie's stories because of how interesting they can get.
With Ethan, any type of voice would work. There are a few tidbits where he says something that might sound hurtful, but they're meant to just poke fun in a lighter manner, rather than full-on insulting.
"Hold on, you’re as old as a fossil and yet you’re having trouble finding work?"
"It may sound petty to you, but as you probably gathered, things weren’t going so well for a while, and any money earned will make me happy."
"I’ve been running these thoughts in my head over and over, trying to get them coherent enough so that it all works, but…it’s not as easy as I hoped."
Ollie was eighteen years old back in 1971. The events that transpired left him wanting what was best for his mother.
Much like how he ends up being in the present, Ollie as an eighteen year old is very calm, but prone to being annoyed and even frustrated when in conversation with his best friend, Jake. What he sounds like is entirely up to you, within reason.
"I might not be able to get any work currently, but I can always try again tomorrow, and the next day, and the day after that! I don’t have to be here with you, but I am!"
"Don’t start treading on it, it’s a legitimate business! Isn’t that what matters nowadays?"
"What the hell am I supposed to think, man?! Should I have been so wide-eyed at the prospect of easy money that I’d be too distracted to see a gun pointed at me?"
