Guide to Happiness
Project Overview
August is in Middle School. It's near the end of fall and she thinks emotions are “just named brain cells detecting a needed response triggering specific chemical messages through the body.” Nothing more, weird right? Well her whole school thought so too and whispered about her in the halls, class, etc. A new student joined only a month late and she claimed her name was Abigail. After a week of hearing whispers in the class she shared with August, she stood up and yelled, “SHUT UP FOR ONCE, PLEASE, AUGUST HAS DONE NOTHING WRONG!” August felt her first emotion. Being surprised. From then on Abigail was determined to make August have emotions and which she halfly succeeded in the span of 2 years. They became close friends in these years, but then Abigail fell ill and passed. August felt sadness and couldn’t bare it so she researched about every response the body does when saying there’s an emotion. She was back at square one, emotionless, friendless, and whispered about. In her freshman year of Highschool she met another person. She looked like Abigail all grown up and acted like her too. Her name was Rena and August always ignored her, but Rena continued to try and get her attention seeing how lonely she was. Eventually August gave in and after a couple months Rena started making a “Guide to Happiness” sometimes she wrote random things for her to do while other times they were actually serious things. In the end August found happiness through love. How? Rena almost died from falling off a cliff in the woods, but August grabbed her then pulled her close and began to cry. Rena was confused and cried too. August stayed, “I’m happy, I figured out I’m happy. A different happy though… I love you please don’t leave me again… Abigail…”

Has the stereotypical high anime like voice. She isn’t a Loli, but is very cutesy like. She has very few lines though is a needed character. Never was been seen frowning and has a lot of happy vibes, sadly she soon falls ill.
“Shut up, this August has done nothing wrong! I bet you guys are making her emotions fade more!”
“Hiya everyone! My name is Abigail, or Abby, whatever you find easiest. Easier? Ho hum. Hope I befriend everyone!”
She is practically the reincarnated version of Abigail, she created the guide of happiness for August. She doesn’t really think of herself at this point and has given up on fellow friends just for August. Has the same voice type as Abigail, happy, high, anime girl like.
“Who else will choose you silly?”

“I’m just sad the guide hasn’t worked yet…”

August has zero emotion whatsoever till the end of the movie. She has a low or mid toned voice and is the main character throughout the whole movie. She follows the guide of happiness.
“Rena. Let me have the phone.”

“Rena was right. I needed these people in my life, It didn’t go badly.”

“RENA NO!”
Scared
Same as older August, zero emotion except for once. Saw her studies important, but brushed off majority of them unlike her older self.
“Leave me alone Rena.”
“She stood up for me…? Why am I surprised?! Go away Abby girl and don’t come back!”
This role will have the same voice actor as a child and teen. She sounds snobby and like Regina from Heathers. Her twin sister is Jennifer.
“They’re our actions, not yours!”
“Toodles”
“You can still feel the warmth of her hugs right? See the beauty of her smile! Isn’t that right freak?!”
Jennifer is a lot ruder than Julia. She is more of a tusundere sometimes and her twin sister is Julia.
“Just remember your reputation is because of me. Oh, and my sister of course.”
“Rena? You okay?”
A very stern character.
“Just get to class.”
Levi is your average childish friend. He is funny and uses the words “gal” or “girl” he also enjoys roasting. His lines kind of explain his personality.
“Ayo! The names Levi- Or- My name is too short for a nickname ahah…”
“Do you want to be happy or not girl?”
Derik is an English male who is very proper. He isn’t emotionless, but his voice can seem blank like August.
“So overused.”
“Hello, I’m Derik. Nice meeting you!”
“We learned about the guide and we were friends! We also learned about Abigail!”
She’s a very happy, outgoing, go at it character. She is a fan of hip hop and dancing in general. She has a mid range voice.
“Hi! I’m Betsy and I like hip hop!”
“Oh heck yeah!”
“Woohoo! I love rollercoaster!”
