Go Go NeuroCo! || Cluster of small animatics type project
Project Overview
(This project is unpaid but if I ever monetize it I will set up proper paychecks with voice acting staff!) - Currently this project listing is just for animatics and small comics with the characters but it has room to expand. More roles will be added
NeuroCorp Labs is a company that's been making waves in Ang'Lavyn culture in recent years, opening up thousands of jobs, bringing in tons of money for the inhabitants of the planet, and spreading unique social policies unlike anything the Ang'Lavyns have ever seen before. From an outside perspective, NCL seems like a completely beneficial company. But... what if they're not?
Project OTPK is a story that I've been working on casually for over five years now, and GoGo NeuroCo is sort of the prequel to that unreleased story. On a planet full of unique aliens called Ang'Lavyns, they seem to think they've got it all figured out. After the opening of NeuroCorp Labs, life just seems to be getting better and better! The economy is booming, the job market has never been better, and NCL seems to be bringing about social change that's making so many Ang'Lavyn lives so much better. But in reality, the company could not be more corrupt.
NeuroCorp Labs has a mission to understand the innerworkings of humans, a species of alien that the intergalactic counsel discovered decades back when NCL was first founded. This went about as well as you'd expect. To nobody's surprise, NCL started off as a rather morbid company. Once they'd learned enough about the physical workings of humans, however, they desperately needed something else to do to keep the company afloat. The Ang'Lavyns discovered that humans were a partially sentient species- similar to animals, and went about launching their biggest project proposal yet: neurological testing.
As it turns out, the amount of situations that humans can be studied in are vast and infinite, giving NCL the perfect reason to stay in business for as long as they can squeeze money out of their sponsors. They shifted to a system where they put human subjects into an entirely fabricated simulation to study how their brains grow, change, and respond to life-long stimuli. Now, NCL has rebranded into a family-friendly company that you'll love to work at! Secretly underneath it all, the kinds of tests they're running are still inhumane. While it's better than dissection, inflicting subtle mental torment for years on end is still... not very cool, guys. But to the outside world, NCL seems great!
GoGo NeuroCo is a story focused on the employees inside of a messed-up company. Desperate for money and being overworked, most employees know what they're participating in is wrong, but with the clean corporate-focused interior... is it really so bad? Most employees in NCL try to keep their heads down and work. They're not evil, they're just people, and they need the money.
This is a story meant to focus on how easy it is to become a cog in a well-oiled unethical machine just because it's the only thing keeping you afloat. What the company is doing might be bad but... it's not happening to you, right?

Villie is one of the leads!

Living life as a young entrepreneur, Villie'Uhlimun just got her first manager position at NeuroCorp labs. For people like her, and for the world they live in, this is big news. Even though it says quite a lot about the company's politics, Villie still can't risk losing her job. She needs to figure out how to manage her new rowdy team... and fast.
After getting more access to the company's secrets, Villie starts to realize the corporation she works for might be more corrupted than she thought. Will she risk her job to bring down NeuroCorp, or will she stay quiet for a chance to live out her lifelong dream?

Villie is an energetic, whip-smart type character. She's nice and charismatic, and admittedly very intense. She's constantly stressed and nervous as she carries the weight of her whole team on her back, but she's doing her best to plaster on a smile and pretend to be the manager everybody needs.
This role is Villie when she was slightly younger than canon so I'm looking for a voice actor that's energetic and bold. I'd love to fill her roll with somebody who has good range with subtle verbal emotions. She's got a very feminine voice that's slightly younger, think early 20's! For this character please have fun with her lines and play around with them however you see fit, she's very expressive. I don't mind you taking some liberties with pacing or wording to make the dialogue feel more natural.

[Trying to seem cool and energize her team, underneath very nervous and unsure of her new role] "Gooood morning everybody! Good morning Nessie! You're all looking great today, very... corporate-approved!! Thank you for reading my memo uh... I wasn't even sure if you guys got the ones I had been sending out. Great work team!"
[Reading through one of her employee's projects they did entirely wrong and trying to play it cool despite being stressed] "Oh... great! Um... yes this looks... great. Say, why don't we just give this a little... makeover! A fun little makeover, why don't you just send those files my way and I'll... do the finishing touches!" [quieter and stressed, to self] "If I can manage to find the time..."
[More serious, trying to act brave but clearly a little unsure about if what she's doing is right] "You *always* take risks, Ness. I might miss out on some things, but in this case it's better to miss out on this opportunity than... to just... run in blindly and get fired before we can even do anything." [Softer, gentle, and significant] "This is important to me, I need it to be important to you too."

Nep really hates her job. But honestly, at NeuroCorp Labs, who doesn't? Her best friend Villie'Uhlimun just got promoted to her manager, and while Nep is incredibly happy for her she's also frustrated that it seems like Villie is around less. They worked side by side as new hires and now Villie seems like all of her time is being taken up by work. Battling a little bit of jealousy (and some feelings she doesn't want to admit right now), her attention shifts when suddenly Villie finds out there's more than meets the eye with this corporate slop company. Nep and Villie have to work together to figure out how to get more information about what's really going on at NCL...

Nep is a little bit of a deadpan character, a lot of her lines will be annoyed or disinterested but you need to be able to be rougher and louder at times. She's a little bit of a side character and most likely won't get too many lines outside of her direct storyline but this could change. You can take her voicelines with your own direction but make sure to try to get her tone slightly deadpan with most of her lines. I'm looking for a more realistic style of voice acting for her. She does have a crush on the lead so this role does have a bit of that but the storyline most likely won't get beyond the feelings stage.
Nep is transfem so please do not apply to this role if you aren't transfem! I haven't decided how much voice training she's done so all types of voices are encouraged for this role

[Slightly uninterested in the conversation, fairly deadpan] "Yeah I dunno, they give everybody nicknames here apparently and they just started calling me Nep when I first started... I guess it did finally rub off on me. You can still call me Ness though, I really don't care. Just you."
[Annoyed, exhausted, pissed off and done with work for the day] "Ughhh my god I hate it here, those stupid fucking interns just got here last week and they already gave them access to the project files for some fucking reason. I don't know what they did but the file isn't even opening."
[Pissed off and impatient, raising voice a little but talking to somebody she cares about.] "Come *on* dude, you always do this! You never take risks, you always sit around and wait for the 'right moment' to come around. What if it doesn't come, Vee? What are we supposed to do, just sit and watch this happen?"

Bee is a few months into her brand new job at NeuroCorp Labs. It's solid work- she gets to be creative, making unique fully intelligent robots called Civilians for projects. It's a mix of all her favorite things and the job just couldn't be any better! That was, until Mae'Mizoa got transferred to her department. Those two get along like peas in a pod, doing everything best friends do! Working together, eating together, hanging out together, sitting in oddly intense and charged silence together. Everything that best friends do. For Bee, everything is perfect!

Bee is a very happy energetic character, excitable and a little dumb. She loves living out her life surrounded by all of the things that make her happy, like her best friend! And she's oblivious to the fact that they're both slowly falling in love. She's very loud and energetic and sometimes does dumb voices. I'm looking for somebody who will have fun with her voice lines and keep things energetic and expressive! I have a preference for more natural voice acting on less energetic lines!

[Very excited, talking about her night] "Last night Melon and I had SO much fun, we watched a movie together on the couch in her pod but then her roommate was like," [mocking grumpy voice] "you guys need to go somewhere else, we're trying to sleep in here." [Normal voice] "So we went over to our station and we watched the movie on the Civilian screen even though we totally weren't supposed to! It was so much fun."
[Thinking to herself, trying to figure something out] "I don't know... I don't think it would've been very easy for them to have completely softlocked the project unless they were given the security code, do you know who gave them access to the files?"
[Seeing the girl she likes, super excited and a little intense] "Oh my god, Melon!! Here, here! I saved you a seat! You know, if you want to sit together... um... do you want to sit together?"

Life is great for Mae'Mizoa- she finally landed a steady job, she gets to be a part of a company innovating Ang'Lavyn art culture, and she already made a new best friend. Mae got moved to a new team just a few months into working for NCL under a new initiative to have newer employees on the same team with brand new employees to try to make new hires less nervous. Mostly it wasn't a big deal to Mae, except for the fact that this new team is where she met her new best friend, Bee. She never really clicked with anybody on her old team so she couldn't be happier to have somebody she really liked on her new one. The one issue was... Mae was starting to fall in love with her. And Bee had absolutely no idea. Trying to work out her new feelings for her friend under the watchful eye of one of her wannabe-leader coworkers who's painfully jealous is making her job... slightly less fun. But is it too much for Mae to handle? ...Probably not, she really can't tell.

Mae is a bold, headstrong character who believes she can do anything she puts her mind to. Her voice is slightly more bold and tomboy-ish and determined. You can lean into that for her more bold lines but generally speaking I want a nice natural voice direction for this role. Have fun with her lines, feel free to change small things about the delivery to make it more natural.

[Talking to somebody that hates her, energetic and sort of seems like she's trying to annoy her.] "Gooood morning Liss! How'd you sleep last night? Gosh I slept like a baby, I'll tell you that. You don't look like you slept good at all, you're... glaring at me."
[Energetic and happy, talking to a girl she really likes] "Sometime I'll have to show you my favorite movie in the whole world!! It's one I found in some old containers in the storage room, it's a human movie so I don't know any of the words but..." [reminicing about something beautiful] "gosh it takes your breath away."

Contrary to most of her coworkers, Liss is not the happy go-lucky coworker that NCL wants her to be. Liss was climbing the ladder, she'd been working at NCL for a while and she was set to be a manager anytime now... right? That was, until Villie'Uhlimun swooped in and got promoted within months of her being there. The position was robbed from right under Liss' totally worthy claws. Ironically, she wasn't even the most mad at Villie. She was mostly spiteful of her stupidly happy coworkers Mae and Bee. They were just so sickeningly sweet together it pissed her off. She gave up everything to try to climb the ladder at NCL, she never had time for puppy love, why should they? Unfortunately, no matter how angry she is, she remains a total nobody in the world she so desperately wants to be a part of. What isn't there to be mad about?

Liss has more of an adult woman voice than her counterparts, her voice is robust and a little deeper. She's usually angry or spiteful so being able to have it as a subtle emotion undertone and as a direct feeling in your voice is crucial. She doesn't need too much flexibility in her tone but it is still ideal for subtle details! Once again feel free to record her lines the way you think sounds best and natural.

[Ranting to her sort-of friend, annoyed and angry and being a little childish] "She's been here for so much less time than I have and she got the job I've been working for this ENTIRE time! Was she a pity hire? Diversity hire? Stupid... bad... choice hire?? I was the obvious choice here!"
[Talking to her sort-of friend, sad and frustrated] "I mean, I tried so hard Pidge, I worked so... *diligently* for so long and I get nothing. I get moved to the new hires team to... to *babysit*. That's what I get for pouring all of my freetime into this company? I did so much for this company and all I got was a stupid digital thank-you note. What did I do wrong?"

Pidge is... odd. Nobody really knows why she's at the company or what she does, during daylight hours most people only see her walking around or making small crafts. Nobody really sees her actually... do anything. But she seems to have a place at NeuroCorp Labs regardless so clearly... something gets done, right? She's a bit strange, she's got huge eyes and tends to like to stare at people. She always brings around a little notebook and takes notes, seemingly about people but almost nobody gets to see it. She has a sort of offputting vibe but oddly some part of her also kind of draws you in. What's her deal? Nobody really knows.

Pidge has a very unique voice, it's hard to describe but it is a fairly recognizable character type. She's nerdy, knows way too much, and is clearly hiding something. Pidge is odd and her voice should be too, just the slightest twinge of creature to it. Her voice should be AFAB but at least slightly androgynous. That is obviously not enough to go off of but if I find the words I will update it- still try to go for subtle and realistic voice acting with her. She speaks a little odd, she's down to earth and speaks straightforwardly and doesn't say too much. She's incredibly self confident and doesn't take shit from anybody. Not a great description but go with what feels right to you!

[Talking about something she definitely caused but feels zero remorse about] "Don't spread idle rumors. I chose not to speak on the topic for a reason. Not because I'm guilty, but because I think it's stupid. The entire discourse is stupid, anybody who participates in it is stupid." [turning back to what she was doing, uninterested.] "And we both know I'm not stupid."
