Gleam & Gloom
Project Overview
Salutations, and welcome to the casting call for Gleam & Gloom!
"Set in the grand Heroes Market, Gleam & Gloom follows Aria, an eager young elf, and her ever-pessimistic slime companion, Goomy, as they take on the small, overlooked quests no one else wants. While legendary adventurers chase glory, they handle deliveries, gather supplies, and deal with mischievous creatures—only to find that even the simplest tasks can lead to unexpected adventures."
For the longest time, I’ve had this idea floating around in my head. It's a story I’ve always wanted to tell, and now, I’m finally taking the steps to bring it to life.
So come, weary traveler—pull up a chair, grab a tankard of the finest (metaphorical) ale, and lend your voice to this grand tale! Whether you be a bold hero, a cunning rogue, or a grumbling merchant, there’s a place for you in the bustling streets of the Heroes Market.
Keep an eye out, as new characters will appear—both big and small! The plan is to cast roles for the first three episodes, with more to come as the story unfolds.

A pint-sized elf with towering dreams, Aria is all energy, optimism, and wild imagination. She treats even the smallest quests like grand adventures, determined to prove herself despite her inexperience. Stubborn, big-hearted, and endlessly enthusiastic, she refuses to let anything dull her shine.
- Youthful, energetic, and expressive
- Medium to high-pitched voice
- Ability to convey excitement, determination, and comedic frustration
(excited) Soon, we’ll be at the Heroes Market! Just imagine the quests waiting for us—we’ll rise to the top in no time!
(determined) Come on, Goomy! We can do this! We're not giving up on our first quest!
(gleeful, eyes sparkling) Cats everywhere?! Goomy, this is the best. quest. EVER!
Aria’s ever-grumbling, ever-slimy sidekick, Goomy is a walking (or rather, squishing) raincloud of sarcasm. With the enthusiasm of a bored narrator, they're the ultimate wet blanket—yet somehow the only thing keeping Aria from disaster. They complain constantly, but deep down (very deep down), they wouldn’t trade their adventures for anything… probably.
- Dry, monotone, and deadpan delivery
- Open to any gender
- Low to medium pitch preferred, but open to interpretation
(droning, foreboding tone) Or… we’ll fall to the bottom… alone… in the dark… with nothing but regrets.
(resigned) I'm not giving up. I'm just... accepting defeat. Which is different.
(grumbling, looking around) Okay… is it just me, or did this place suddenly triple in cats?
