Girls Und Panzer: Der Abridged Film
Project Overview
As the title would suggest, I am ready to begin my first actual foray into a proper abridgment. For this I choose the Girls Und Panzer film, because why not, stop judging. The abridgment itself will be put up on my youtube page or possibly somewhere else if the youtube copyright police have anything to say about it.
The ground rules are pretty par for the course. Good mic quality, no background noise, expect to yell some lines, et cetera. However do note, that just because the character is female, does not mean that only females can audition. As a staunch believer in equal-opportunities for male voice actors, I think that a vaguely young adult male should have the right to voice a pre-pubecent little girl driving a 2 ton tuna can.
If anyone has watched the show or film, they know that there are a metric TON of characters who are voiced. Seriously, you could build an entire football squad and still have people left over to ride the bench. This in mind, it is pretty much impossible to find enough zingers to justify the inclusion of a full cast for this show. That being said, this page will probably be under construction for quite some time, and there WILL be plenty of roles to go around (Even if they are only there for a one-liner of my own personal amusement).
Also, don't dismay if you don't get chosen here. There will be a 2nd round of castings for smaller roles later on, as well as possible recasting.

The courageous leader of the Ooarai Girls High School tank team, as well as the main protagonist. She'll essentially be playing straight man to the rest of the cast, so nothing TOO exaggerated.
[Sighs before gaining an optimistic tone] Well... At least we saved the school
[Annoyed] Yeeaaahhh. It's almost like somebody charged the enemy without permission.
[Commanding Tone] Panzer Vor!
Sister to the main protagonist. She shouts a lot. So make sure you can shout a lot too. Also is the leader of the Kuromorimine Girls High School.
[Discussing Strategy] So, how about it Miho. Can you give me a number crunch real quick?
[Surprised] WHAT IN THE HECK WAS THAT!?
[Angry] WHO GAVE THEM A THERMONUCLEAR WEAPON!?
Leader of the 'Japanese' Tank squad for Chihitan Academy. She's brash, reckless, and is typically the reason why the protagonists fails as much as they do. Talks about honor a lot.
[Angry] OUR HONOR SHALL NOT BE SULLIED BY THIS COWARDICE! FORWARD GIRLS!
[Apologetic] A-Ahh. Right. I wonder who that could of been....
The leader of the 'American' Tank squad for Saunders. You can go with a southern Belle Accent, or just a normal North American one. You may be required to say offensive things, so just bear that in mind.
[Laughing Nervously] I have NO idea what you're talking about
[Giving tanks to the protagonist] Here you go girls! lifted straight out from under the po po's noses!
[Dismayed] Woops.
Leader of the 'Russian' Tank squad for GLORIOUS MOTHER RUSSIA. As cliche'd as it is, I want her to essentially sound as if Putin was condensed into a diminutive size. Oh, and also turned into a girl.
[Furiously] FOR THE MOTHERLAND
[Confused] W-What are you doing! Nonna!
[Sad] It will take many bottles of vodka to forget this... *sniffle* almost too many..... almost....
Leader of the 'Italian' Tank Squad for Anzai High School. She won't have many lines, and most of them will be faux-italian Gibberish anyway
[Scared] M-MAMA MIA!
[Confused] Scusami!?
[Confident] Bravo!
The leader of the English-inspired St.Gloriana's Girls Academy tank team. You can either go with a super cockney accent, or just a normal british accent if you can manage it. The character herself will be aggressively British, as she always seems level headed.
[Sipping tea calmly] Don' worry luv, cavalry will be ere' soon enough.
[Concerned] Ah, so it would seem...
President of the student council for Oorai. She's short, so naturally, she is a very angry person. I would prefer a man's voice here. another one who shouts.
[Angry] WHAT DO YOU MEAN OUR SCHOOL IS GETTING SHUT DOWN!?"
[Shout] UNACCEPTABLE!
[Confident] You know what that means! WE'RE PUTTING ON A SHOW
Leader of the 'Finnish' tank squad for Keizoku (Continuation) Academy. Not many lines for this one. Finnish accent (?) can be attempted, though not required. Enjoys Eurobeat. A lot.
[Bored] Are they still talking?
[Mischievous] Oh, Iv'e got a plan....
[Shouting with joy] WITH THE POWER Of EUROBEAT, WE ARE INVINSIBLE!
Head of the Japan Senshado Federation. He only has like 4 lines. Sound old and frumpty.
[Confused] Who gave them a thermonuclear weapon?
[Unsure] That still seems a bit extreme....
Couldn't find the name of this character anywhere. Like, he's somewhat important as he gets the ball rolling on the plot, but no name is ever given.
Any who, he's essentially a lawyer-type character, so over-the-top sleazieness would be what to aim for. Try to channel your inner Tim Curry.
[Non-chalantly] Oh please, we're already letting pre-pubescent girls drive tanks, we might as well make the games even more interesting!
[Smug] Oh? I don't remember making any sort of agreement....
[Still smug] Fine then. You can have your show, but I get to pick who you face!
