AfterLife
Project Overview
The Story
AfterLife is a story told using Minecraft. The protagonist, Gaqy, has managed to conquer the world, turning what was once a civilization into a destroyed landscape. After letting his ego get to his head, he finds himself getting struck by lightning at the worst possible time, and dies. It is then, that he comes to realize that after death, players go to another world: The Afterlife. After judgement, he is sent to a hellish looking place called Tartarus (inspired by Greek mythology). On top of it having harsh conditions, functioning as a place for punishment, it also turns out most of the citizens despise him and want him gone, due to his previous actions. As the story progresses, Gaqy goes through major character development as he desperately tries to survive Tartarus.
What can you expect?Once you have successfully auditioned for a character, and we've decided that you're audition was just right, we'll make sure to reach out to you. We'll send you a DM with a link to a Discord server regarding the project. If you prefer not to use Discord, then we can also keep communication in DM's.
PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR DISCORD TAG WITH YOUR AUDITION SO THAT WE MAY REACH OUT TO YOU. IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO USE DISCORD, PLEASE SPECIFY IN YOUR AUDITION!You'll be expected to be available for an extended period of time, as we're expecting the project to last a while to finish. The extended time period also means that there is little rush when it comes to voicing your lines. So no worries, there won't be any stressing. But we do expect you to turn in lines before deadlines when they do come up.
When auditioning, make sure to:
Record a couple of takes per line! We decide based off of which lines we think fit best. This audition is your chance to show us all the ways you can interpret the lines and voice them. If you can, try to do at least 2 versions (with a maximum of 4) of each line. It helps us decide whether you'd make a good fit for the role. ABCABC or ABCABCABC format please!
Don't be afraid to slightly tweak the lines if the wording just isn't right for you. We've written the script based off of what we thought would work well, but everyone's flow of sentences is unique. We love improv!
This is our first project like this. It started with an idea from around half a year ago, and it felt like it was absolutely worth turning into a real project. From the video, you can see the current skill we have on cinematic shots, Gaqy's own voicing, and it hopefully shows you the level that we're operating on. In the future, if all goes well, we may extend the team behind the editing, music and possibly getting some animation work done too.
And one last thing: Good luck with your auditions!

Krinos is the judge at the gates of Elysia and Tartarus. They decide that our protagonist, Gaqy, belongs in Tartarus after weighing Gaqy's heart. Think of him as a kind creature who's just doing their job, but is kind of detached from human emotion in a funny way, so whatever they say is oddly direct. Think Coran from Voltron: Legendary Defender, but if he was British (or American) and the ultimate judge that decides your fate
We're envisioning a British accent for them, but American ones work too.
- english
- female adult
- male adult
- warm
- all american accents
- british
- Essentric
(Informative, a bit casual but has a seriousness to them) Based on how good you’ve lived your life, this redstone lamp will either turn on or stay off.
(Chipper and casual) If it stays off, then apparently your heart has lived with little to no sin and you get to go to Elysia! I’m sure you’ll enjoy your stay there.
(Sad but serious, like they would prefer NOT this option for Gaqy) If your heart is too heavy, and the lamp turns on, though… I’ll have to send you to Tartarus.
