Game Tutorial w/ Characterized VO
Project Overview
INTRODUCTION
Hello, everyone! This casting call is for an independent video game called Longjuice Squeeze, due out next year on Steam. You can check out our steam page here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2414140/Longjuice_Squeeze/
We're casting for two roles, Wellington and Smudge, who are the tutorial guides throughout the game. Smudge is friendly and a bit goofy, while Wellington is arrogant, smug, and a bit rude to Smudge. Smudge is a strange alien creature called a loofer, while Wellington is a re-animated skull at the end of a pole. You can see the concept art in the header for this project.
Viseme/lip-syncing is done within our application, so no worries about that part.
All roles are in the English language.
If you feel you can execute both roles, feel free to audition for both of them.
We're budgeting around $100-200 per character (around 1200 words/less than 100 lines each), but it's negotiable. All payments are made through PayPal.
There are some additional scripts to record, as well (probably around 2 more of equal length), if this process works well for everyone.
DEADLINES AND AUDITIONS
The deadline for auditions is July 1st, 2026. We'll notify voice actors who have been cast in roles by July 8th and send scripts at that time. We need to receive all lines back from voice actors by July 15th.
WHAT TO EXPECT
We communicate primarily through Discord and email. We have test versions of the audio that we can send for any lines you're unsure of how to execute, as well as character references.
WHAT WE ASK OF YOU
Please submit clean recordings on prosumer mics (no air conditioners in the background, no fan).
Don't add effects to your lines.
Feel free to cut your lines to your best/favorite takes. Three is the gold standard.
If possible, submit your recordings as one .wav file per line to our company email address, which will be provided to you after casting. If a file is too large to submit via email, we prefer to use Dropbox. If this is not conducive to your recording process, 1 file per script sequence (generally 4-8 lines at a time) works as well.
We will provide examples of how to pronounce some of the stranger words in the script to help avoid excessive re-dos.

it's both, Wellington
Wellington is Smudge's partner. They explain the world to the player via various tutorial sequences. Wellington is arrogant and a bit meant o Smudge. He has a surly, sneering British accent. The accent is negotiable if you can find a more comfortable way for you to match the script, but our reference voice will be British.
Each character has around 1200 words in the current script.

It's not "loss", really, it's more like...an investment.
Don't condescend to me, Smudge!
