Game of Lives
Project Overview
Hi! This is the producer for SYNTXE, an audio drama anthology podcast.
Game of Lives is SYNTXE's fourth (August) episode in our anthology. Three kids are selected to go on your typical game show against three adults. But something seems off about the whole show. Maybe the consequences of answering incorrectly are far deeper and more serious than anyone could have thought.
Check out one of our past audiodramas to get a feel on what this one will be like!

I’m fairly flexible with deadlines, but generally I’d like to have lines by two weeks of casting (the quicker, the better!). If you don’t think you can meet this deadline, please don’t audition. Recording will be done remotely and asynchronously.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be 13+ to audition
Please be sure your recording doesn’t have any background noise. Good quality mic is recommended.
Must have discord to communicate (or be willing to create an account)
Please include your discord username in your audition.
When auditioning, please READ ALL THREE LINES.
Feel free to audition for multiple roles (I’d highly encourage so!) since most of the roles only have a few lines.
Unfortunately at this time we cannot provide compensation, but IMDB credit will be given!
Join our discord server! https://discord.gg/ASJFpHJBKH
I am very excited for this project, thank you for the interest!

Troy is the host of the game show. 35. He’s very theatrical and lively, but when things start to turn around he acts more sinister and villainous.

(opening show) Welcomeeeee! Are You Smarter Than a Whiz Kid? Tonight, we have an exhilarating challenge ahead where knowledge will clash and wits will shine.
(losing his temper, pissed) You dare question me?! I make the rules here! And I’ve had enough of your insolence! You think you’re safe just because you have more points? Think again!
Hold on, Eloise. Before you go, I want you to understand something. This show isn't just about winning or losing. It's about entertainment, survival, and keeping the audience on the edge of their seats. You think you're the first to defy me? Many have tried, and many have failed. But you...you have spirit. Don't waste it.
One of the kid contestants, 12. Very genuine girl — she’s more reserved and mature for her age compared to the other two contestants on her team.

(slightly frustrated) I’m twelve, Mum! Not six!
(scared, confused) But Aidan had the least points. Why are you eliminating two people?
(encouraging) We’re going to get through this. We just have to stay calm and stick together. No matter what happens, we don’t give up. Okay?
One of the kid contestants, 11 years old. A little enthusiastic, happy kid. But when things go south he's convinced at first but eventually starts to lose hope.

I was a National Science Bowl Participant. What about you?
(uncertain) I don’t know! We just have to keep answering the questions right. Maybe if we keep winning, they won’t take us away.
(hopeless) Maybe they’re giving our parents lot of money...to get rid of us.
The youngest kid competitor at the show, 8 years old. A genius but innocent kid to say the least. Similar to Russel, he is excited at first. He elicits an emotional reaction when things aren't as happy and pretty as before.

(enthusiastic) We’re gonna kick their adult butts!
(teary-eyed) I want to see my mum. Please, can I just see her?
(screaming as he’s being taken away) No! Please! I don’t want to go! Mom! MOM!
One of the adult contestants. Keep in mind that he and all the other adults are enthusiastic -- but not as enthusiastic as a typical game show.

(answering, under pressure) Uhm. Uh... N... Na... Na... something...
(being physically dragged) Wait! No! Please!
(buzzes in) Sydney!
Another adult contestant. Keep in mind that he and all the other adults are enthusiastic -- but not as enthusiastic as a typical game show.

(shouting) What’s happening? Where are they taking him?
(realization) Wait... I have to beat the kids to... to survive?
(stern) If she’s not playing, neither am I.
The only female adult contestant. Keep in mind that she and all the other adults are enthusiastic -- but not as enthusiastic as a typical game show.

Are you really going to kill a kid over a game show?
(confused, desperate) Wait! I answered correctly! Please, Troy! I knew the answer!
(begging) No! Please! I’ll do anything! Don’t make me go!
Any gender/age. This is not actually the producer, rather the voice for a character in the story named the producer. Professional, tries to keep everything going smoothly and accordingly. The producer gets irritated in all of these lines.

(calling out from backstage) Troy! A word?
(hissed whisper) What the hell was that?
Yes, we have sponsors.

(calling out) Attention Eloise, Russel and Aidan, please proceed backstage. Your segment is about to start.
(meeting the kids for the first time) Hey kids! Thanks for coming along! We’ve heard wonderful things about you and your achievements. You guys ready for some fun?
(informing/instructing) Stand behind the podium with your name on it and we’ll be ready soon.
36. Cares deeply for her daughter, only wanting her to appear and be her best before she goes onstage.

(brushing/pulling Eloise's hair) I know, I know. I just want you to look fabulous tonight. Aren’t you excited?
(regarding a bow on Eloise's ponytail) It brings out your eyes, honey.
(regarding a bow on Eloise's ponytail) I think it makes you look very mature.
